This was really educational, and I like the story of the girl named Manjiani. Usually when I think of people of African descent in the diaspora preserving musical traditions, I only consider the Carribbean and Latin America (Brazil, Puerto Rico)...but African Americans from the South on up have preserved many rhythms of African drumming. I love drums. Thanks!
