Seems you've confused a Full Adder as a 2 bit adder and a Half Adder as a 1 bit adder.
This is a half adder with a carryout function creating a full adder. A full adder consists of two XOR gates with two AND gates, whereas a half adder only has one XOR with one AND gate.
The Carry input and output allows these adders to be connected to create a ripple carry adder of scalable bit width.

Really it's a binary adding machine, so it works like this:
00 = 0
01 = 1
10 = 2
11 = 3
When the line is red, it represents a 1, and black is zero. The input is simple, each of the 3 inputs represents a possible value of 1. So if all three are receiving input, they add up to 3, or 11 in binary.
Sure! I was actually going to make one last night, but it was too late, and I didn't want to risk waking the kids. I should have one up by today, or tomorrow.
Actually, I can't recall. It was playing on my web radio while I was making the thing, and I decided to keep it on there, since it worked perfectly. Seemed to good to ignore.
I agree completely. This was made early in my minecraft play, so I had little understanding of the game mechanics and what not. Also, the lighting seems to have darkened quite a bit through the video processing.
I actually go into a full explanation of the concept, and provide the blueprints here:

I have since optimized this design even further, to provide the most compact 1 bit carry-over adder in the game of mine craft.
If you visit my channel, you can actually see the evolution of my adder designs.
I plan on providing a full tutorial, with a new updated vid of my 12 bit adder. Fact is, my folks have come to visit for thanksgiving, so it's on hold.
why make video at night T.T

it isn't about speed, it's about explaining what is happening and showing us how it works.

Thanks, but could you please make a video and show where the inputs and outputs are?

what texture pack is that?
Lethalis1234 1 year ago
@Lethalis1234
It's actually a customized combination of texture packs.
I took the terrain textures from Misa's HD Texture Overhaul v1.3, with customization on the chests, and gold blocks by my buddy.
I then have items, sun, and moon textures from SOULSCRIBE 128x Textures Graystone.
Essentially this forced me to resize Misa's 64x textures to 128, so everything was running at the same resolution.

Good call.
The rendering was far brighter on my display, than it turned out post rendering. I really should fix it.

thumbs up for the song but you could do with better lighting.
