  • @Peppa1978 I think your back hurts because you're not flexing your core/abs while going through the motions. When you don't flex and tighten your abs, especially when pulling back up, you're putting all that pressure on your back which is why it's hurting. Keep focus on your form. When you curl your back, you're losing proper form. Flexing your abs will prevent this and really help bring definition to your abs.

  • @Peppa1978 This standing ab rolling exercise is the hardest thing ever! You can cheat a little bit by spreading the legs far apart, but still it's fuckin' ridiculously difficult. I guess, you have to first perfect ab rolling on your knees before you can even try the standing position. A great lower ab workout also is: on a smooth floor surface (not carpet), get in push up position, then wearing socks or standing on your toes on a towel, slide up into a upside down V position. Crazy workout!

  • from toes is extremely hard. gratz. i currently do this exercise on gymnastic rings and can only manage 2 from toes.

  • there is no problem. his pelvis is in line whith his spine, so he does not put any stress on n. ischiadicus.

  • You're not hurting your back at all if it is already conditioned to do that which he already seems to have done. This is an excellent core workout.

  • Don't do these at the gym. If you're like me and you think you're pretty strong, these will open hand slap you to DEATH and everyone will see it! Good stuff though.

  • well i dont think its wrong to hold your breath.. because when you do squats you also have to hold your breath to not hurt your back because you would stop to contract your abs when you start breathing.

  • tanvirul i know how you feel man i cant do the ab wheel standing up either. i do it on my knees and its effective too the top portion of my abs are buffing up and ive been doing it for only 2 and a half weeks

  • Doing ab work doesn't make you lose fat on your abs. It just develops the muscle. That's why those stupid ab infomercials will never give you a 6 pack.

  • @rettas123 Actually the fat on your body is only converted into energy if you're starving. If you're fat, doing ridiculous amounts of ab work won't make a difference, because the muscle is hidden. Only works if you've only got a slight layer of fat where the minimal cardio effect of working out is enough. Otherwise you need to do cardio, lots of cardio.

  • I think that's because he's filling his lungs with air. Anyone who can do these all the way down has crazy strong abs. Most people admire my six pack and I can't do these as well as he does.

  • Great display of strength! I use the ab roller occasionally but don't ever get a burn in my abs, i feel it more in my lower back... maybe my form is bad. Anyways, I always feel more of a burn from swiss army ball crunches!!

  • I used my friend's ab wheel a month ago and it was great!, I could barely do 5 and my abs were in tremendous good pain every single of the 5 times!

    However, I just bought one today, and I can do 10-15, but do not feel the pain. It is a mystery to me what went wrong. The only difference is I am doing it on a carpet now, weird.

  • Props!!!! I can only do one or two like that...much less 10. I'm still working on it but this works the whole body (neo...."core") One of my new routines has pull-ups, push-ups, ab wheel and bulgarian squats...its quick and effective!!!!!
