@YouLoveBeef - Hey, I'm just making an observation -- he looks like someone else. No harm meant by it. Can't you smile and agree or politely disagree? I feel that my universe is pretty broad actually. Why would I be watching a Bob James video? I love the sound of Rhodes piano and that lead to my discovery of Bob James a while ago. I love this particular song and this is a wonderful performance of it. I really like jazz guitar too. This video has been in my favorites list for a while.

Bob is a classic man. Great grooving by everyone but he needs to get rid of the Yamaha Motif for his Fender Rhodes sound. After listening to the original soundtrack many times the real Rhodes sounds stunning in comparison. I not saying he needs to drag one around but go with another synth. Peace.

There are plenty more "Rhodes" sounds in the Motif that sound really close to the original rhodes....Bob just liked that sound.....

That wasn't trying to imitate the Fender Rhodes; That was trying to imitate a Yamaha DX-7 trying to imitate a Fender Rhodes.

@mdentari - Don't be so quick to blame the board. Although not perfect, I've used Rhodes sounds on that board and they're pretty good. At one point I think he was using a DX7 and maybe looking for a similar sound rather than a more realistic emulation.

The Yamaha DX-7 trying to Imitate a Fender Rhodes is a big Trademark of 1980s Ballads, I don't blame him for wanting to use it.
