To anybody wondering if you will get banned or not it is very doubtful as Sony won't know if your using a pirate copy of the game or not.

But in saying this even though you most likely will NOT get banned, the update will most likely stop the USB from working which therefore will mean that it is a waste of money.

So my suggestion is to NOT go online on the PS3 so that it can't update and there is a 0% chance of being banned.
