when indians here ask me where i went in india ,they always get so excited when i mention i visited haridwar.i stopped in haridware on the way from driving from mussoorie. i regretted not being able to spend a few days at haridwar and do the arti.this was my first to what i hope to be many trips to india.i got a taste of what india is like and study about more places i would like to visit. haridwar is a place i hope to visit each time.

Louise and I go to Haridware every year and do Aarti each evening. A shame the travel guide books did not for years rave about this magical place (only recently did Lonely Planet recommend The Gate to heaven).  But them there are few Westerners acting sometimes a bit goofy, they all go to Rishikesh. Being from the West I kind of like a place that is almost entirely Indian pilgrams.
