  • Great Video! Hey, do you have a video on the intro to Trilogy Suite? The ascending/descending runs at the very beginning? Id love to learn that part too! Thanks man!

  • Yes, what i was looking at...the picking style for that one...found it a good idea an upstoke first .but i'll try it that way.hope it works better .

  • Hi, excellent playing ! Can you tell me if you use to play the riff with a hammer into 8 and 12 on the e string ? It will help me a lot.

    Thanks

  • very good job man . super !

  • @ahadriz thank you ;)

  • yesssssssssssssssss

  • @MrBilly1977 Right on billy!!! Glad you like it ;)

  • Again, this is how all shred video tutorials should be done! Nice guitar, btw. What is it exactly? Thanks again!

  • @supermarine67 Thanks man!! I appreciate your comments ;) It is an Ibanez RG320 EX.. I sold it though. It was nice but I didn't like the reverse headstock and EMG pickups..

  • Are you must all the note at the beginning ?

i hve been chasing for this question are long timw..

i don't know how to make it clean.

    your playing was great,,,

  • @neo69hk Thank you! Not sure of the Question? What language did you translate it from? Sometimes the translators mess the wording up.

  • hyee thanksss im looking for this lesson for a long time,,, and finally i found it LOL

  • Different positions from the orig but the right notes and extremely well played.

    Nice job!

  • @LavamanMusic Thank you! yea, i never seen marty play it so i just used what was most comfortable fingerings to me.

    Thanks again ;)

  • @highintel oh crap...lol I thought I clicked my Ashes in your mouth video...haha..

Thank you ... yes, same answer different player ;) man I feel dumb...haha

  • nicely done mate.. great video.. helped me a lot :-)

  • @JimiRayYng Your very welcome!!!

  • excellent!... respectfully let me note though- at 1:40 you play the phrase a bit different than Malmsteen (at least in his instr. video -the one where he wears that purple coat) he uses only two positions while you play a third one lower on the third beat, (its hard to explain it unless you play it or write the notes or tab down so you might have to check it) is this an alternative version that he plays in the tutorial? I really dont mean to be rude or anything

  • @ALkAi0s not at all.. I appreciate the honest feedback!! There are some fingering preferences and possibly notes but this works best for me.

  • harder than it looks... and it looks hard lol

  • @pelenma Your Welcome!

  • you are a really good teacher

    thanks!!!

  • @cachomanmix Thank you! And your welcome.

  • Yoh, Thanks Bro! been practicing this tune since the last 20 years. Gosh, this never had been look so easy before, but it is now. Thanks Bro!

  • Any Time ;)

I use a different fingering than Yngwie for the Diminished part but it works better for me. Check his REH video out:)

  • thank you soo mutch you are a good teatcher´!. i have seartch after this for a long time totaly subbed!!!!!!!!!!!

    thanks again!!

  • @guitarvirituose awesome!!! Thank you! Glad it helped!

  • very nice and accurate

but question...whats better to play it

    alternate picking or economy picking?

which one is easier for the runs

  • definitely Econo-picking on this one. You can alternate but it's much more difficult.

Alternate might be cleaner though..but don't know how smooth...depends on the player. I have a friend that can alternate pick this well but I use economy.

alternate all the scale or linear lines.

  • Great video. All of them are. Just a comment. The 1st transition is wrong. You are going to the G# too soon. You end on the G#. 1 - 12 13 12(h-p-h) 10 2 - 13 12 10 sl 12 13 15 1 - 12 13 16 riff 2 same as above but add 1 - slide 17 15 13 2 - 17 15 13 15 17 1 - 13 16 17 19 20 Yep last one all on the same string. While you can play it gracing to other strings, learning to play technically like YJM will help play the rest of his stuff easier. Great videos through.
  • Post a video response and I will accept it so people can try both versions!! :)

    Thanks for the Comment!!

  • it's really nice of you posting these videos. wish you the best!

  • Thanks and your welcome!!

  • Great everyone is right you are a good teacher.

  • Thank you!!!!

  • Thank you. I had difficulty figuring out the picking for the triplets, but you made it easy.

  • would be cool if you put in a drum track with that.. cool guitar too

  • hey man what kind of pickups and distortion etc. do you use.. anyways its sounds great

  • thanks a lot brian you're a geat player

  • Thanks man Great playing !

  • Well done Brian. Thanx for posting. Great teaching!

  • Youve helped me understand it so much, its even taught me a new style

    Thankss

  • cool dude.

    This song rocks so great.

  • Thanks! I really like your new vids! My girlfriend was watching them and I knew it was you just by listening. That's a good thing!

    Later!

  • MINT!

  • Bri, great job as usual! You have no idea how many hours I have logged on your Trilogy Suite Op.5 (Your first installment, minus the very beginning cadenza/scale-runs.) That lesson to me is the YouTube BENCHMARK for proper song-lessons! (It actually BLOWS AWAY Yngwie's Trilogy lesson - SERIOUSLY!) However Brian, I'm still waiting for the complete

in-depth/close-up breakdown of your AWESOME PICKING TECHNIQUE! (You'd be helping a lot of struggling pickers!!!) Peace!

  • Thanks a MILLION Bill!

I just put a video up at your request! I am working on a much more detailed video BUT! I wanted to at least get this vid out for you!

  • I agree too about his being the benchmark for video guitar lessons, I like to know what Im learning and want the lessons to start the exercise fast. Hes actually one of the few people that break it into terms I can understand

  • Brian is a really cool guy, and I know for a fact that he's working on an instructional/method book! (He told me so in a message reply.) I like vediovis365's idea

about a "Teaching Website!" That'd be cool! Brian is super-smart/intelligent, but he's also a regular guy who has worked his ass off to become a great player (and Yngwie is a huge influence - not a bad one to have I say!) Therefore, Brian (highintel) is the perfect candidate to be a GREAT teacher (he already is!) Stay tuned to him!

  • Yeah, hes like Yngwie. Except he can influence you as both a musician AND a person :P

  • sounds great. I'm not familiar with this piece. Was this originaly by Yngwie?

  • great job babe you are fantastic!

  • very talented.

  • long over due, thanx for this bri

  • cool video, you're good

  • Understatement! (lol!)

  • good lesson mate. Think i'll have a try at learning it. Dont know any Malmsteen stuff yet, but this look like a blast! \m/

  • great, thank you very much!

Wee need teachings like that fromn yau man.

    Launch a teaching website!

Maybe we will have rest of the song later, intro and the end...
