  • I think this guys will end up dying some day while climbing with alcohol effects taking the better out of them.

  • Comment removed

  • @NKUClimbing didn't think about that...No spite man, have a nice day or night or whatever the time is when you read this comment.

  • Good thing bears only climb trees. it would suck to be halfway up 3000' of 5.14 and see a grizz comin' up behind you.

  • Some white-knuckled climbing among some great natural vistas. Congratulations, guys, on a great ascent of a classic line. Thanks for giving us a view of your accomplishments. Some of us can only dream of making this climb.

  • Noo, why have you changed the music on this vid? Wasn't it Pearl Jam before?

  • My palms are sweaty from just watching this video

  • congrats, guys

  • 0:56 Bear! Stop that right now! What do you think you are, a beaver?

  • That was incredible! I hope I can do that some day!

  • Respect!! You guys are amazing!!

  • Interesting choice of music. It's about a guy who realises the better part of his life and relationship is behind him and things will never get as good again as they once were. It's about being in a crisis and deciding there is no hope anymore. It's hard to translate the title "Het komt nooit meer goed" but it basically means things are beyond repair.

It is basically about the last state of mind you would want to be in when climbing.

Thanks for the upload, I admire you guys immensely.

  • @Kompieter Thank you very much for the translation. I discovered this group and this song searching for El Capitán and I have listened to it since then, not understanding a single word. But I like it!!!!

  • great video, but this is the most terrible song i have ever heard

  • thumbs up if this turned up in your english GCSE

  • how the fuck can you sleep on a four foot wide ledge that is 900m in the air?

    serious question.

  • @jflem90 I have 0 experience in climbing, but I assume that they acnhored themselves to the wall (would hope so). Usually people use a device called a "portaledge"

  • Well done.

  • unfuckingbelivable

  • I think I will stick to boulders, I have become a pussy in my old age.

  • man, those were amzing shots. thanks for letting all of us non-climbers into your world for an awesome view.

  • hey, beautyfull shots and music, i'm dutch, you to?

  • god damn im jelous! u americans get to have such a place every single country would kill for...i hate u so much u motherfuckers ;)

hehe im kidding i wish u all the best..greetings from serbia :)

btw u can not cal yourself a climber if u never climbed El Cap..i can only pray to god and hope that once, just once in my life i would have enough money to visit this magic place and climb the Nose...

  • only three names: cerro fitz roy, cerro torre and torre egger in patagonia argentina.

  • @GagiFromTheTribe yes you can this is a stupid comment

  • @GagiFromTheTribe Never climbed in France, Spain, Germany, Servia, Switserland. Thousands of beautiful routes in all over Europe.

  • @seneca175 well my dear friend i climbed in Servia (Serbia) because im serbian :) but you know what el capitan for climbers is...its meka...i must climbe it..it is my dream...hehehe

  • @GagiFromTheTribe Hello, I know ther are very beautifull routes too in Serbia. I wanna do El Capitan too but it's a money isue too. ;) Yoshua tree should be nice too for bouldering. I live on 3 hours riding from Fontainebleau, Europe's bouldering mekka. If you like big wall's I know the Italian Dolemites near Arco have nice ones too.

  • @seneca175 mate u have to try deep water soloing in croatia...probably the best place in the world for that :)

  • amazing

  • hey are u dutch? becauza the song is dutch!

  • Amazing.

    Congratulations!

    Seids echt knallharte Burschen :)

  • Awesome video. Congratulations!!!! UAUUUU

  • Good Vid, and good music link

  • dats fukin gayyyyyyyyy

  • mesmerising...

  • Is it impossible to climb El Capitan in another way then Aid-climbing?

  • @Arytmica I think the Nose of El Cap goes free in the 5.13 or 5.14 range. Its extremely difficult.

  • Love Yosemite! Bishops Terrace, The manure pile buttress climbing, Half Domes sketchy Snake Dike... I grew up in Pate Valley

    Shiloh

    ClimbPHX.com

  • FELICIDADES

  • what is the yosemite?

because this is my second name xD

  • @mrskaulitz089 Yosemite is the name of the valley that this is all in and is also one of the most traveled national parks in the US. Located in California.

  • fantastic video the deer dinning in the meadow at the beginning was nice touch so much part of the valley

  • now that's a big rock! don't look down

  • 4:44, any better place to crack open a can???

  • @55richardmorris

That is by far the best place to crack open a can of beer, and maybe smoke a joint as well.

  • I like the way he climbed the bolt ladder up to boot flake without aiders, but they also did some sketchy shit.

  • damn, climbing that huge piece of granite was breath taking, i did it in 8 hours. wen i got to the top i proposed to my girlfreind, we got married on el capitan.

  • @MrRaymondman hi, i would like to know how you came to climb el capitan??

Are you a professional climber or are you just doing it with more passion than normal people do sport?

I am asking because i was thinking of doing it, but i am not quiete sure if i am ready yet!

    greetz from germany

  • yeah, I read a story about a guy that tried like 7 times {when he saw birds fly under he always greased/pants} before he finally went all the way up, anybody know the point of no return? Also, is that true about the phantom shitter from above where 2 guys were climbing and one got plastered with shit, then after he climbed to a rest spot there was a small pint of whiskey and a joint with a note that said, "Sorry bro, didn't see ya down there." :P heard this anyway. Urban Legend? or no?

  • @snowfallzz

That's pretty funny, unless you're the one getting crapped on! LOL!

  • shitty music!!!!!

  • trippy music.

  • @journeyquest1 The original music that was posted was more fitting instead of this Elton John sounding stuff.

  • Hou much time it takes to climb El Capitan and when is the best time?

  • @chagy93204 from what iv heard its like 3 days if ur doing it with equipment and if u wana free climb it u gota do it in one day

  • @freakazoidfan The record is around 2 hours 40 minutes. One 19 year old guy fell 2800 ft to his death after equipment failed.

  • Depends on the route. The nose takes regular parties 3-4 days, tho lots have done it in a day now. Mescalito is prolly the longest route on el cap and it takes 7-9 days. Climbs on the overhanging side are shorter but can take up to 10 days because the climbing is so technical and difficult

  • the king swing looks like the really scary part! dont know if i would do that with out twin ropes

  • good job i want to go here in a few years after i get better!

  • awsome video that would be the coolest place to sip on a beer

  • Well done!

  • Common quote after falling Off!

  • El Capitan is the SHIT!!!!!!

  • i would wan tot go to the top of half dome lyle elcap im 11 but im scared of heights so that wont work until far later when im not

  • lots of nutz isn't it? Big Hand.

  • cool music

  • anyway, great climbing ! lot´s of bolts isn´t it ?

  • 4:33 he is throwing garbage down the mountain . PORCO !!! let´s keep mountains clean !

  • Look again, he is flinging beer suds. It's one of those cans that keep the tabs on the top.

  • @goobey99 that's definitely a budweiser, and it looks damn good up there!

  • I agree that everybody needs to keep the Leave No Trace idea firmly in there mind while outdoors. But you can clearly see that he is only flicking the head of his beer from his fingers. Still that constitutes alcohol abuse.

  • if you look exactly, you will see that he is opening the can of beer and splashed (sorry, i dont know if this is correct english) his hand, and after that he shook it away.

but you are right --> keep the mountains clean

  • @luidgi79

They pick it up at the bottom, guy.

  • @luidgi79 Actually; He was flicking the foam from his beer off his fingers.

  • @luidgi79 Hes not. Hes shaking his hand of beer becuase he has just opened a can.

  • pure power - climbing!! respect!!!

  • but if you dont climb any more why do you watch this video..............

  • Sometimes I'm glad I don't climb any more...

  • What is the song? I am absolutely hypnotized by it.

  • 9:03 süüüß

  • so the whole route is bolted then?

  • NO?

  • nop it isnt

  • the belays are all bolted and so are pendulum points and a couple ladders, but theres virtually no bolt protection on the pitches

  • i cant wait to try this one day

  • This video is so cool, The music fits it so well, you can imagine that being the sound of El Capitan as you climb it ! Hopfully I will experience it one day......

  • how long would that take to climb?

  • I think the nose is a 3-4 day climb but I am not to sure on that one. All depends on your climbing ability.

  • 2 days 3 mabey

  • it is my dream to climb the nose one day

  • mine too :)

  • how does one train for such an event

  • i think best training would be slowely increasing the lenght of your climb. beginning by a 1 pitch route, then 2, then 3, and so on...so u got the endurance....don't forget the difficulty of the climb.

  • Are you asking about climbing in general, or 'The Nose' and other long climbs? If you mean in general, then the best way to train is to get out there and climb 24;7 with a friend, weather it's inside or outside. If you're talking about long routes, evanescence1984 is completely right. Increase your route one pitch more each time. Another great thing to do for those boring, winter days is to by a chin-up board/bar. They really help your strength through the seasonr. Hope u get hooked on climbing!

  • sorry ,

    shadow of the day

  • Hi,does anybody know the first song? I like it very much but I duno what is is

  • spirit of the day, linkin park i think

  • This video is great-well edited, super music, and wonderful footage of the granite dome.
