hey i just like to no out there if any one no the song called '' confusions in my brain "" it came out in the early 80 s r&b song. if you no this song please email me at this address please ( jamesw496@gmail.com ).
I remember when this record came out, i thought it was Shalamar. It only proves S.O.L.A.R. was using the same musical formula for artists and groups to "sound alike"... I always like this song regardless. But some record companies...smh
@dal4018 I believe you. From my days working at Solar and Motown, I've witnessed many who passed through our company and was advised to sing.... sitting!
Great song writing collaboration between Dynasty's Will Shelby & Nidra beard and Midnight Star's Belinda Lipscomb & Melvin Gentry. Two of the best bands ever.
@dal4018 Well when SOLAR Records went under so did most of their acts. I guess you & I are gonna have to wait until TV One Unsung does their story. I waited over 30 years for The Sylvers story to be told, i can wait a little more for Dynasty....how about you ?
@philipbourne Got my answer Dick Griffey and Don Cornelius agreed amicably to shut it down so Cornelius could concentrate on his original baby SOUL TRAIN
I always wondered "WHY" wasn't Leon producing "The Sylvers" and after watching "Unsung" ...........Now we all know.Sad! Leon was a beast on the boards (and the bass ) in the 80's as we all know.
Solar had SO MANY HITS!!!! But for some reason this is the one I play the most out of all of their Hits!. I always loved the mean bassline and the bridge. I used to say to myself "Ain't no way the musics gonna sound this good in the future". I was RIGHT!
A time of my youth. I was blessed to be able to have had so much love, peace and really good friends. This music is more than classic. I was not a big dancer but this really made me move my lanky 6 foot Five frame around even without having a women in front of me. I usually never danced alone. Certain cuts I would if the cut really moved me in a certain way. I loved (love) the women and the attention they would give me. The double teaming by perfect strangers was such a turn on.
Linda Carrier and Nidra Beard was never given the recognition they deserved! i have listened to this group and these 2 ladies and analyse their vocal- capabilities..i must say your talent is from above Thanks for the Music! from my heart.. God Bless ( you may not know me but i've heard you two!!)
hot hot hot, the jam was dancin material, you couldn't help but get up and kick it it too this one............awesome. Now listern to this, he produced many jams for the whispers too...the song is called "here I am" , You're right the bass line is sick..lol
I would like to thank Otis Jackson jr aka Madlib for that Medicine Show Black Soul 10 album, for bringing classics like this to those who missed joints like these or may have never heard them. Great music.
i see u are the same person that did the sylvers song i'm getting over...mannn, u know your music don't u? this is just toooooo much...gotta love it!!! it's that damned good!!! man i love it and i happen to own this song from the best of dynasty...keep doing it, brother!!!!
I love this....it sounds a lot like Shalamar, (they were also produced by Leon Sylvers) remember working for the promoter at one of Solar records concerts with Dynasty, Shalamar, The Whispers, and Lakeside! They were all very nice. Leon Sylvers was one of the most sought after producers in the 70's and 80's...he was definitely a hit maker. Miss that S.O.L.A.R sound...Dick Griffey thanks for the Fantastic Voyage!
I would loose my mind on this cut. I was a very suave type dancer; You know... cool, tightly controlled slightly provocative moves. The ladies loved watching my lanky body flow through my well placed moves. I married my best fan. This song however I would let go I mean I had to let it out. Greta cut and good times. Thanks
hello, does anyone remember one of the greatest love songs by dynasty called( thats the way I feel about you? well, i have it but how do i go about posting it......
why did i think all this time that this was Shalamar and Jody Watley was singing the lead before Howard Hewett joined?? You know like the old Shalamar.
I thought the same thing when I heard this for the first time (a disco/funk programme on local radio back in '97). Took me years to find out it was Dynasty :)
@nscales20 I can see the comparison, Dynasty was strongly simulating the Shalamar sound and since Watley set the formula, Beard and Carrie' was trying hard to cash a hit off the Watley's sound!
No matter how many times I hear this song, I always stop and marvel at its sheer brilliance. Magically lush, this track is sheer perfection. A true "twirler."
Not being familiar with the solar family. When I first heard this when it came out. I thought it was the Whispers and Jody Wately. Cause i loved both groups. I was about 11 or 12.
@2009Denisem Wow this is brilliant, first time i have heard this, what a fantastic track....oh to return to songs like this...wished i had heard this back in the good old days.
@soulchildsacomin since radio listeners never heard Nidra sing solo, and the women always dubbed their voice by singing together, the audience would never know the difference in the female voices!
@Mixxersmix we, the listeners have heard Watley sing lead and background, but when Carrie' and Beard sung, it was always together as a duo, and since Jody set the sound of Shalamar, other females aftyer Watly was making a mad attempt to cash in on the Watley sound, which set the sound of Solar!
@1973cleopatrajones I do agree Jody set the tone, although they didnt think she had a singing voice, Carrie Lucas , did stray from that sound with a little more Jazz but not until Klymaxx did it really start to change, Also I must say, after the Solar thing, that sound seemed to disappear, along with a lot of nice female empowerment r and b.
@Mixxersmix you're so right.... Griffey and others at Solar did make the MISTAKE of underestimating Watley's vocal talent, ya see what happened to Shalamar after her departure...... and, 25 million plus of her own solo albums and chart topping hits, on her own merits!
Carrie did indeed have that smooth jazzy voice for the slow jams and that sexy tone on the jams like "Show Me Where You're Comin' From," "Men," and "Fashion," but Linda Carierre and Nidra Beard (along with the younger Jody Watley) set the standards for crossover jams for SOLAR. Belinda Libscomb was soulful and Klymaxx set a whole new different standard (that overthrew Linda and Nidra) which is confidence and attitude, but it was ahead of their time.
This is my favorite Dynasty song!! Too bad The Second Adventure was'nt a big album (around this time SOLAR records artists were obligated to rush a album in 1981 because SOLAR records was in the process of wrapping up the joint contract with RCA...causing poor produced albums by The Whispers, Lakeside, Klymaxx, and Shalamar). The Second Adventure, Concept (The Sylvers), and Standing Together (Midnight Star) were great albums in 1981.
This is my favorite Dynasty song!! Too bad The Second Adventure was'nt a big album (around this time SOLAR records artists were obligated to rush a album in 1981 because SOLAR records was in the process of wrapping up the joint contract with RCA...causing poor produced albums by some artists)

@Mixxersmix

Their biggest hit in my opinion. Brings back memories of real artists, ORIGINAL tracks, and relevant lyrics.
