Any car that has it's engine in the front and is RWD its going to lose some power to the wheels. so infiniti didnt lie about how much power the engine had they just didnt tell you how much you get to the wheels... btw 305hp to the wheels is still a lot.
@adamY2K Lol? The official hp for the infinity is 330hp torque is 260, so this car made 25 less hp and 5 less torque, while the genesis official number is 306 with torque at 266, and makes 279hp 262 torque which is about 27 hp and 4 torque less then official.... overrated HP? Not really.

And yes i know, i even have the 350GT (skyline 350GT) emblems in replacement of the "g35" to pay homage to the JDM OG. I did not rebadge the whole car or replace infiniti for a few reasons... 1) that would take too much time and replacemtent parts (including changing the seats bc they have ( /\ ) on them as well) , 2. I love confusing people , 3. the 350GT emblem just looks so much better
Look inside the two cars and you'll see what makes the Infiniti superior. Don't get me wrong, the Genesis is a valiant effort and definitely a step in the right direction. The next generation Genesis coupe will be a force, no doubt.

They may look similar visually, but come on. You're comparing a car that costs almost twice as much. Infininti would HOPE that their car is heaps better than the Genesis. The Genesis is a value proposition for sports car minded entry level buyers. If you want the Infiniti, then you weren't looking at the Genesis to begin with. This argument is nonsense.

Look up any production DOHC N/A V6 available from any manufacturer right now (Infiniti, Nissan, Lexus, Toyota, Acura, Honda, even Hyundai) and none of the torque ratings are above 270lb-ft of torque. It's just not possible on stock parts...

But how? I have seen a stock v6 track pull 302 and 271 at UTI. Lol they had a promotion going on where you can use their dyno for free. Pulled a Hyundai Elantra at 132 and 125 or something like that. Did 3 runs.

genesis still just looks cheap. it looks just like the tiburon/old elantra with the ugliest 19 inch rims ive ever seen, and the god awful "H" badge we all know soo well from all their other awesome cars... Aside from the fact that the Tiburon and Genesis are actually completely different cars, I'd rather spend $35000 for a Genesis than spend $50000 on a car that frankly isn't all that much better. I do like cars that are better than the GC. I would love an new m3, buy it for me.. The GC IS comparable to coupes up to 45k. Take the time, do the research, ull see that in many ways the GC is a bargin for the price. fuck ur stock gt. it doesnt have a 6spd, coilovers, brembos, lsd, 19s, not to meantion leather, heated seats, navigation, want more, cause theres more... base gt beats it in a straight line.. great. Second, I distinctly remember the G37 hitting a 4.8-4.9 which is actually quite ahead of the Hyundai Genesis. The g37 also handles better. yea...i'll admit the price i said for the g37 was higher than it is...you're right...fully equipped goes for around $43,000....$42,135.00 + misc. fees....anyways...still the g37 coupe will not do 0-60 in less than 5.0 secs...the nissan 370z can do it....but unless you make the g37 lighter by A LOT...ur not getting that thing to 60 at 4.8-4.9s..handling? it's on par with the G37..real enthusiasts like the tight suspension and to feel the road...you get hell of a lot more car from the GC than G37.
I could get a hell of more car in a Mustang man. You can't take shortcuts with a luxury sports car and say its better. As a sports car i would have given this car major Kudos, but the Genesis is a Luxury sports car and falls short of styling interior wise to make it better. The mustang(v8) is on par with the 3.8 track in handling, and The Camaro(v6) is on par with the 3.8track in handling. Does that make them superior or better than the genesis, because they are both notably cheaper.
people who have money will spend the extra dough to get the jap or german car they desire...but for us people struggling in a tight economy and even tighter pocket are more than satisfied with the performance, efficiency, and modernism this GC has executedof course they could've given it a more plush interior like a luxury sedan such as the Genesis Sedan...but they didn't...this car is meant for tuning and sporting affairs...
Actually, I have been researching the Genisis 3.8 track. The V-6 Camaro is the ONLY car in the general neighborhood that is cheaper, and I have sat in/drivin both. The Genisis is a much nice car, plus its hard to argue with that 10yr 100k warrenty. The V-8 Mustang is close in the numbers, but does cost more, and its a V-8...
Engine to Engine I wouldn't make this comparison, but price to price I will. The V6 mustang beats the I-4 Genesis coupe. You're fooled if you're thinking you're getting a great deal, mainly with the track edition. There are cars out there that allow you to drive RWD, Look nice, and still look good.
everything comes with a 10 yr 100K powertrain warranty, you're kidding yourself if you think the rest of the car will be covered for that long.
The V8 GT is BEYOND it in numbers, because it's better. Right down to the fact that it's a V8 over a torqueless high compression V6 with weak internals that won't respond at all to modifications or much tuning.

Let me tell you why the nissan 370z is a illogical comparison to the hyundai GC. 370z is a two door two seater. Genesis is a 2 door 4 seater. A buyer whos looking for a 4 seater because of their family, children, friends ect..... various reasons will not buy a 2 seater if they mind is set on a 4 seater. I went for the 3.8 Genesis, fully loaded. Love it. I have NOTHING against the G37, but most people that drive it are absolute fucking snobs. Why, I've no idea. It's not a Ferrari. For me it came down to an almost evenly matched pair of cars, with one having a few more luxury perks than the other. I couldn't justify the extra $15,000 for those alone. My Genesis holds neck-and-neck with any G37. That's good enough for me. Why did you sister buy it? Because she LIKED It. The way it SHOULD be!

I believe that's a custom emblem that can be ordered either from sharkracing or koreanautoimports. I dunno about those emblems. Everyone is going to try and get one to have a different looking Coupe, and then it's going to be too common... The opposite effect! Haha!
I do like some of the stuff out there to dress up the Coupe though. There are some nicer emblems as well.

They may look similar visually, but come on. You're comparing a car that costs almost twice as much. Infininti would HOPE that their car is heaps better than the Genesis. The Genesis is a value proposition for sports car minded entry level buyers. If you want the Infiniti, then you weren't looking at the Genesis to begin with. This argument is nonsense.
There are a lot of sports cars you can buy in the 50,000 range. But the Hyundai is an AMAZING value any way you look at it.

Look up any production DOHC N/A V6 available from any manufacturer right now (Infiniti, Nissan, Lexus, Toyota, Acura, Honda, even Hyundai) and none of the torque ratings are above 270lb-ft of torque. It's just not possible on stock parts...

genesis still just looks cheap. it looks just like the tiburon/old elantra with the ugliest 19 inch rims ive ever seen, and the god awful "H" badge we all know soo well from all their other awesome cars... I'll pay more for the extra hp, better styling, better class of the infiniti anyday. The genesis is just a poor man's wannabe G25/37... let's put it this way... the Dodge SRT-4 can do a 1/4 mile in a similar time AND it's turbocharged, AND cheaper but the fact is it's still a NEON! Aside from the fact that the Tiburon and Genesis are actually completely different cars, I'd rather spend $35000 for a Genesis than spend $50000 on a car that frankly isn't all that much better. If I was going to spend that much, I'd get a GT-R. Oh, and note, it's not an "Infiniti" GT-R, it's a Nissan.
And get over your badge snobbery - yeah, Hyundai's Korean. But while all of the other car companies have been in free-fall, Hyundai is GAINING market share. Maybe there's a reason for that, hmm?

Realistically priced seems to be a pretty straigh forward statement to me. Affordable to the general population. 25k-25k was a typo, 25k-45k. Comparable.. A GT comes with a stock LSD, called Posi. BIGGER AND BETTER brakes, and a stronger suspension than the base GC.
19's? there is an option for those, but 19" wheels don't do anything.

Well, considering that you're completely wrong you might want to fix that. i would say the price is more like 39-43k for a new g37. Second, I distinctly remember the G37 hitting a 4.8-4.9 which is actually quite ahead of the Hyundai Genesis. The g37 also handles better. I find it great that you support Hyundai, but don't look like a dick by posting BS. in all, both great cars that i sure wouldn't mind owning.

yea...i'll admit the price i said for the g37 was higher than it is...you're right...fully equipped goes for around $43,000....$42,135.00 + misc. fees....anyways...still the g37 coupe will not do 0-60 in less than 5.0 secs...the nissan 370z can do it....but unless you make the g37 lighter by A LOT...ur not getting that thing to 60 at 4.8-4.9s..handling? it's on par with the G37..real enthusiasts like the tight suspension and to feel the road...you get hell of a lot more car from the GC than G37.

I could get a hell of more car in a Mustang man. You can't take shortcuts with a luxury sports car and say its better. As a sports car i would have given this car major Kudos, but the Genesis is a Luxury sports car and falls short of styling interior wise to make it better. The mustang(v8) is on par with the 3.8 track in handling, and The Camaro(v6) is on par with the 3.8track in handling. Does that make them superior or better than the genesis, because they are both notably cheaper.

Actually, I have been researching the Genisis 3.8 track. The V-6 Camaro is the ONLY car in the general neighborhood that is cheaper, and I have sat in/drivin both. The Genisis is a much nice car, plus its hard to argue with that 10yr 100k warrenty. The V-8 Mustang is close in the numbers, but does cost more, and its a V-8...

The V8 GT is BEYOND it in numbers, because it's better. Right down to the fact that it's a V8 over a torqueless high compression V6 with weak internals that won't respond at all to modifications or much tuning.

I was searching the forums today and i found a thread that says these guys ran this car with mis-matched tread in front and rear and an ecu was stuck in damage mode. After a retest it put up better numbers

Because it's a great car. Nicer than pretty much and BMW, build quality is just as refined, performance is pretty close to in most areas.
Why spend the money on a BMW, Mercedes, Audi or porsche. (Left out Lexus because it is in the same catagory as Infinit, only uglier and less reliable)
Bottom line, it comes down to what you want to drive. What feels like the right car during the test drive. Too many bmw's ans benz's out there. Every wanna be pimp or gangsta is riding one. G37s over those

HAHAA you got it wrong. Every wannabe pimp or gangsta is riding the G37. Go outside and you will see teenagers who just got their license driving an infiniti g37 pretending to be cool. And lexus doesnt fall under the same categories as the infiniti. Majority of people would take the lexus over the infiniti. Its been proven. Go to 10 random people or people you know and ask them which car company is more pretigious. If you want i will provide you with a unbiased poll comparing them.

Not that I notice here in Toronto. Usually the mid 30's guys driving the Infiniti's, and the wanna be's the benz and bimmers.
Infinit, Lexus and Acura, all the same catagory. The luxury editions.
I hate the Acura's now. All look like japanimation characters from the front and back. The is 250/350 looks likte the camry, and not a fan of that car. The G37 looks like the Altima coupe, and I like that car.
I'd take the 370Z over pretty much anything right now, just not the practical choice.

Your getting it wrong the is 250/350 doesnt look like the camry. Its the es350 your thinking of. WRONG AGAIN!!!! And the acuras you say arent your taste. It may be to you but im sure there are many who like the acuras design. Who are you to say ones better over another. You will take a 370z over pretty much anything right now? Let me tell you why the nissan 370z is a illogical comparison to the hyundai GC. 370z is a two door two seater. Genesis is a 2 door 4 seater. A buyer whos looking for a 4 seater because of their family, children, friends ect..... various reasons will not buy a 2 seater if they mind is set on a 4 seater. Its like comparing a 6 seater van with a 4 seater sedan. Now nissan doesnt have any coupes that competes with the GC. The altima??? HA btich please

I remember getting excited for the altima coupe until I found out it was front wheel drive. Thought it was going to evolve into the next 240. Wrong. Your right though, I don't want to get a 370z because it's only 2 seats, I'm looking at 4 seats. EVO X, STI, WRX, GTI, 135i, G37, Camaro, Challenger, Genesis. Test drove the Genesis 2.0T, not bad, still don't know what I want yet.

Now lets get to the hyundai cars. Hyundai genesis has won many awards like the north america car of the year. The genesis coupe is a huge success if you look at its sales. I see GCs on toronto roads daily now. The hyundai equus, a 60,000 car will debut next year in america which competes with bmw 7 series and lexus ls ect.......... Infiniti is not a luxurious brand or a presitgious one. Hyundai beats infiniti in both quality and reliabilty. ITS STATISTICALLY PROVEN!!!!

Quality or reliability can not be proven, EVER. Why, because unless you took everyone and did everything the same exact way the other person did, you could get a definitive answer. Yet, people drive differently. You can get all the facts and issues in the world, ubt unless you get a detailed history of everything they did in the car it cannot be proven 100%. Get off the quality BS. Get off the reliability BS. Both will last forever if you treat it right.

Tex, did you see what Beyond Redline did? They amped up a Gen and got it to 466 Wheel HP with 407 Ft Lbs of torque. Not a bad setup!

05' Toyota Avalon - dont ask why i bought it but it is still good but has soft suspension
07' Hyundai Elantra - this cars f@cking bulletproof. Went to WI from CA & to OH from CA with just a regular m
08' Honda Civic Si - its Si period but it got no g35 engine

I went for the 3.8 Genesis, fully loaded. Love it. I have NOTHING against the G37, but most people that drive it are absolute fucking snobs. Why, I've no idea. It's not a Ferrari. For me it came down to an almost evenly matched pair of cars, with one having a few more luxury perks than the other. I couldn't justify the extra $15,000 for those alone. My Genesis holds neck-and-neck with any G37. That's good enough for me. Why did you sister buy it? Because she LIKED It. The way it SHOULD be!

I believe that's a custom emblem that can be ordered either from sharkracing or koreanautoimports. I dunno about those emblems. Everyone is going to try and get one to have a different looking Coupe, and then it's going to be too common... The opposite effect! Haha!
I do like some of the stuff out there to dress up the Coupe though. There are some nicer emblems as well.
As for the G37, I think it's a great car. Nice to hear from a G37 owner who isn't snubbing their nose at the Genesis!

it's a special badge only for the genesis. =]. it says "Genesis" on it. haha maybe cause the typical Hyundai badge connotes a bad image. =P personally i wouldn't mind either badge, but whatever.

Im deciding between the hyundai genesis coupe and the bmw 135i.
But i totally agree with you. People who drive the infiniti g37 think its a lambo or ferrari. Its funny watching them reving and pretending to drive a real sports car. They are full of themselves. I am siding with the genesis coupe but the bmw 135i has brand name. Any suggestions?
