  • Just thought I'd give you an update. I ended up going with SpeechGear's system. It supports continuous speech, not just individual phrases, and it recognizes speech spoken in multiple languages. It's more expensive, but a MUCH better program.

  • This is a fantastic development and I truly hope you progress rapidly. Getting more input-output language support will appeal to business travellers and general interlingual communication. Not to mention it's a mini language learning tool. The scope is enormous. You'll then have to decide whether to go it alone, or be bought into companies that interpret like Google's Translate or Nuance's Dragon. If it's the latter, get a good percentage. :)

  • @ucheucheuche My bad! Already powered by Naunce. *)

  • I can see where you did some creative editing on your other video to hide that it works slow. It looks like this doesn't translate what someone else is saying. It needs to translate both directions. Saying that you "support more than 20 languages by voice" is at best misleading; apparently for voice you only support one dialect of one language; namely American English.

  • @livingatnorth45 You're correct in the current support of speech recognition languages, we only have today American English. We are adding UK English and German in August. We are adding additional speech rcognition languages before the end of the year. Go ahead and try it, it's now available at iPhone US App Store.

  • looks like it only translates from English into another language -- not very useful if it can't do both directions

  • @rpalmquist01 It will support additionally UK English and German in August. Leter in autumn there will be additional languages. All main languages are planned to be covered. You can download it today in iPhone US App Store and the becoming updates will cover new languages.

  • Speechtrans Bi Directional Speech To Speech Translator is coming soon the the iPhone, 3G, 3Gs, 4, iPod touch and iPad. This will have a 200,000 word dictionary its way better

  • @yk299 I can't see any reason why with such a limited word dictionary you could match 14 servers of Cellictica. Let me know where I can download your product and I'll try. You can always get ours for iPhones, Androids, Windows Mobile, Blackberry, Bada and J2ME (any decent feature phone will do). in addition to typical App Stores you can find it with major operator portals etc.

  • P.S. Maybe I can volunteer my time to help for free?

Maybe this will be fixed? Thanks!

  • Hi,

I have tried OVI via Sgaw Cable, Telus ADSL and Telus T1/Duplex Lines Internet Service Provider from 3 different locations. I also used FIDO/Rogers 3G but I still cannot access that page.

Can you please check with OVI and get back to me. I like both Trippo Mondo and Trippo VoiceMagix.

I used Trippo from GetJar. I like it.

  • Aside from these languages:

Languages now (new added regularly): Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Hausa, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Pashto, Romanian, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Serbian, Thai, Urdu.

Are you planning to add more?

    Thanks!

Please make this available as Canadian content on OVI for the Nokia N97. Please!!!!!

  • Hi,

According to our setting in Ovi, our content should be available in Canada as well. I don't understand it. I will raise a support ticket to Ovi Support. Please note that Above app is not at yet launched in Ovi. We have our earlier release Trippo Mondo there.

We are planning to add more languages. We just need to make sure the quality is good enough for using those. This app is so personal that quality needs to be pretty good.

  • Yeah! This looks great! However...

    a) I have the N97. The Trippo Mondo you have in GetJar does not have Touch Support.

    b) I went to OVI, however, OVI notes that I cannot access/purchase Trippo Mondo because I am in Canada.

    c) I tried to email Cellictica but never got a response, note... I emailed 5 times.

    d) Please! I really think this APP is cool. Just need to release it to me. It's not that I am not paying for it. No? Why not allow Canadian to have this App as well?

    Please reply to me!

  • a) You're right, we have touch version only in Ovi

    b) this is not supposed to be like this

    c) sorry for not answering you properly, we have a lot of things on the table and too few resources

  • Hi,

Nokia N97 version of Trippo Mondo

    a) SMS and MMS is blank, translated message is not transposed to the new windows and when SMS is received, it is blank, i.e., no message sent???;

    b) Scrolling through languages and contacts takes too long; maybe introduce with more "kinetic" scrolling support

    c) Contact list does not have filter function to filter contacts. Hard to select from a contact database of more than 400 contacts

    d) Cannot copy + paste translated text
