    LG.

  • I frickin love your accent.

  • @MrCreepyKitty Thanks :D

  • I'm getting the highs and lows down from this, but how do I do gutturals similar to Phil from Whitechapel and pig squeals?

  • @cleaster93 Watch some pig squeal tutorials - its basically about tongue position ;)

  • @VokillCovers dann hast du mir meine vermutungen bestätigt, thx ;)

  • Hi, man! You're a fuckin' monster! ahahah I wanna ask you a thing :D I can scream, but I can't do low pitches like you... how can I make my scream become a low pitch? How did you learn?

P.S. I fucking love your band

    PENIS PENIS PENIS LOL

  • @PapoeSbi Thanks dude - I have a natural talent for low pitches. The screams were really difficult for me. My advice is to train mids first and then pitch your mid downwards - till you have a growl. Will take a lot of practice though.

    Aba sonst sehr hilfreich =)

  • @XxAmageddonxX Ja das ist ein Vorteil - 5 Jahre Tenorhorn ;D

  • @VokillCovers Jööö ein Tenorist ^^

    Nett nett ^^

Mir is aufgefallen das ich dadurch diese "Spannung" im Hals die der "klick2destruct" angedeutet hat schon von alleine da is ^^

    Wuhu noch ein Vorteil :D

  • wow u taught me thumbs up for the teacher>>>>>>>>>>>

  • @utsuv Thx.

Danke ;D

  • how long have you been scream / can you hold it out so long because you did that exercise a

    lot?

  • @notruthinyourlies In fact no - I never had to learn breathing ^.^

  • Hey Chris,

Would you mind making another video on how to combine the two techniques for me? I have a firm grasp on both, but I can only really add vocal fry into my false chord screams sometimes. I want to be able to do it on a consistent basis.

Hope to hear back from you! :D

  • @Scowmoo Hmmm - In fact those two techniques HAVE TO merge if you get your breathing done. Thats my theory :D

  • @fivefingeredfanatic Glad to hear it ;)

  • name of the song in the background? its lovely

  • @blahpoop99 I Killed The Prom Queen - There Will Be No Violins When You Die

  • @teteLovesMe2 Es kommt darauf an was dir besser hilft.

  • Do you plan on making any more vids more geared towards how you tackle high screams? Theyre freaking pissing me off, or if you don't make a vid shoot me a message dude! haha

  • @Oryanize Maybe. Time will tell :D

  • Hey Chris, will there be violins when you die?

Great how to video by the way.

  • @mouchochi13 I hope so haha :D

Thanks, glad you like it :D

  • @DFDlikesmetal Ich hab sicher nichts gelöscht :P

  • thank you man i had no idea how to growl or whatever im doing but this helped alot lol amazed muhself tho did it when i was drunk xD

  • @beararruda808 Haha :D

    Glad I could help ;D

  • Translate into Russian)

Or write all lesson in writing) I with the dictionary will translate)

  • @death09death Haha - thanks for the offer, but there are othere priorities at the moment ;D

  • @death09death Thanks for the offer - but there are other priorities at the moment :D

  • @death09death Thanks for the offer - but there are other priorities at the moment :D

  • @AmazingMetalTV Kein Problem.

Also dein Tipp wäre einfach nur üben, üben üben :D

  • Hey you need to make how to fry video because I cant fry for my life but i can false chord like a beast x.x

  • @Jakesxe28 I can't do raw fry ;D

  • I have seen your cover videos. Those are bad ass :)

You speak german, right? Here are my questions:

    Cya

  • @VokillCovers Danke Chris für deine schnelle Antwort :)

  • are you a smoker? just a question^^

  • @Plemkaki No I ain't smoking :)

  • I want to learn the vocals you did in your cryomancer cover. Those were fucking brutal.

  • @Foreversuffering111 Thank you :D

  • Is the song that's in the background IKTPQ - There Will Be No Violins When You Die?

  • @ShawnWeindorf You're right :D

  • hi, i'm want to learn how to growl/scream and i have one question:D. Smoking is afecting my voice? sorry for my bad english:)

  • @laxativz0r I have no experience with smoking, sorry.

  • Is this fry or false chord?

  • @SCMusic15 To be honest, this is fry AND false chord together :D

  • @VokillCovers Im confused now! :P

  • @SCMusic15 Why? :D

  • @SCMusic15 Because im confused at which bands use false and fry, and which path i should follow :P both?

  • I hope you have now a boner...that you get some likes

  • @1993revilo The like bar is actually my penis. That's why this bar is sooooooooo long :)

  • @VokillCovers WOW 5 cm

  • @1993revilo Oh, selfowned :)

  • this is not music. this is shit

  • @1993revilo Hello Challenger. You wanna cookie. No. Bad challenger. No cookie. No. No. No.

  • i can scream and growl perfectly when im whispering but once i try to push it out it just sounds terrible

    any advice?

  • @xbox360crazed Breathing.

  • Actually, what you are doing, is gutturals. (not saying your video is bad, i favoritet it as you make alot of good points.) But it is not possible to combine vocal fry and false chord as the distortion in a fry scream is based on clenching you vocal chords tightly together and making them vibrates very quickly to make that 'fuzzy' kinda distortion. Where false chord is based on loosing you focal chords and have them vibrate slowly (like tuning down a guitar string). (:

  • @jfcmjfcmjfcm Thanks. I don't think so. Yep you're right, but give me an argument why these two organs can't be combined. Especially when they are so close together ;)

  • @VokillCovers They cannot be combined, as you can't tighten and loosen you vocal chords at the same time :b

  • @jfcmjfcmjfcm Who says, that the false chord sound is generated by loosen the false chords? I personally tighten up my false chords. That makes more sense to me. No offense dude, this is my theory and I have no prove and you too haha. Maybe this will be a neverending discussion :D

  • @VokillCovers Yeah i guess you're right.. i can do what you do, and personaly i have always thought of those kinds of vocals as gutturals (similar to devourment, whitechapel, dying fetus etc.) And the whole thing with how the chords vibrate is just something i have heard, as you say, i have no actual facts to back it up with. :b But interresting that you have a different theory(: And nice vocals btw hehe!

  • @jfcmjfcmjfcm I like to discuss on a friendly level, thank you for that. Thats really rare these days. I have no facts too, I just can base it on my experience and feelings only :D

  • @VokillCovers i think your very right because i seem to be able to use a bit of both to make my sound. and Ive had almost the same argument on one of my videos. anyway nice vid man!

  • @SuperTaylor777 Thank you :D Nice gurgles ;D

  • thank you! i killed the prom queen in the backround :)

  • @noizy185 You're welcome. Yeah, IKTPQ is one of my favourite bands :)

  • @VokillCovers mine too! parkway is mine favourite! i met them !!!do you have twitter?

  • @noizy185 Cool. No I haven't ;D

  • This is the best video I've found. Thanks man

  • @TKTRiseAgainst Thank you. Good to hear :)

  • Dude please can you make a tutorial for gutturals? thanks :D

  • @TheresAFuckingDuck With time comes everything my friend :P

  • @VokillCovers Well explained how to begin. Thanks.

  • @NadineBrownMusic Glad to hear. Thank you :D

  • @VokillCovers Thanks.

  • Room temperature water is the best because it sooths and opens the vocals... It also doesn't have sugars to make mucas and other such in the throat.

  • @biozaz I personally - again - think that you can say this is the best or this is the best. Everyone has a different body and - which is the most important factor in my case - a different psyche. The one thinks, that beer is perfect cause it makes him less nervous and the other one likes the water :D

  • Sehr sehr sehr hilfreiches Video , DANKE !

  • awesome, thanks for your advices, I will train all the day and someday I will reach a satisfactory level

  • @Yelonas Good choice :D

  • @VokillCovers Do a carnifex cover of the diseased and poisoned.

  • water is the best thing to drink

  • @guitarking1011 You can't generalize that :D

  • @VokillCovers this is true anything that give you thlemb in the throut is good

  • oh, I killed the prom queen in the background, my favourite band through all time. <3

  • @Adept96 Word.

  • ich muss meistens immer husten/niesen beim growlen/screamen... hast du vllt nen tip für mich was ich besser machen könnte? danke =)

    lg Jojo

  • @Karnivor93 Atmung :)

  • huhuuuu... :D

  • @swedenhoney Den Gedanken hob i a scho ghobt :DD

  • IS THAT A UKULELE IN THE BACKGROUND!!?!?!?!?

  • Your accent is like.. germanfrenchbritish. .__.

  • Oh god, thank you,i needet this,i forgot how to growl, now i have to practise again xD

  • 0:20 "Im goign to teach you basic meat" @__@

  • is that there will be no vilons at your funuaral in the backroundd1,3

  • Is it feel like fry ?

  • DUDE MAKE A NEW HOW-TO VID!! MAN ITS BIN FOREVER

  • Core-Growls sind unverständlich!

  • your telling them everything that is on the mellisa cross's stuff. lol,

  • do you use your adams apple to scream or your throat? cause i got problems with these two.

  • First person explaining how to do this shit that didn't come across like a complete retard who didn't have a clue about what he was talking about.

  • NO ACTUALLY I HAVE NO AGGRESSION TWARDS YOU LOL IDK YOU AND HAVE NO REASON TO BE AGGRESSIVE I THINK MY WORDS ARE JUST OFFENDING YOU I WISH THEY DIDNT BUT I CANT HELP THAT

  • i dunno... i tried it but it still hurts my throught...

  • thats Really sick !! Thats a pretty usefull tutorial but...btw...your accent looks frenchy...do you speak french XD ?

  • @Fredcool1994 A little bit: Merde, Voule Vou Couche Avec' Moi, Sarkozy, Seine, Cote D' Azure ;D

  • @VokillCovers I looked at your band On facebook and its really sick !!! do you think you could go like my band on facebook its called Brace your fall or share it with your friend and I could do the same with your band :P! ?

  • And how do you hold your false for so long? Daaaang xD

  • tt even sounds like your doing fry?

  • Randy blythe does FRY right???

  • Hi. I am practicing my scream/growl but i have a question. When i scream i release a lot of air. And my question is: how i can "hold" the air that in that way the scream lasts longer?

  • @Pedroanf94 you need to work out your sternum take a balloon and hold it with your lips and blow it up as much as possible with out letting any air out breath through your noise let the air out before it gets to big and repeat

  • you people fail to realize im not insulting him ive just been doing this waaaaay longer not saying im the best vocalist in the world by any means but i do have more time in all this

  • @steveoxx1991 I know. But - sorry to say - the way in how you say it is pretty aggressive imho ;D

  • fuck that guy. you have great vocals.

  • @TheBillyMaysShow i never said his vocals were bad just giving advice

  • drink milk .i watched that vid and your lows seem decent but to similar to other bands i noticed you said you try to go for a sound like parkway drive which is bad you need to work on your cords with no music get your own tone and then work with covers once youve got your own original tone you highs need work i head alot of feed back with the mic so stop cuping the mic if you frys arnt loud enough to do with out cupping you shouldnt do it and work on your stage presents not so tense man

  • @steveoxx1991 Thanks. I don't say "Do it like Parkway Drive" - I say "My technique is SIMILAR to what PWD does". I agree in the fact that everyone should discover his own style though. My highs are great as they are. I admit that i cupped a lot in this gig, it was horrible. Watch my other band's vids (the newer ones) and you see - cupping with two hands is gone. I do False Chord. They are loud. Stage presence is very good - and people are acknowledging that. But - taste is different ;D

  • Comment removed

  • @steveoxx1991 Okay okay, i'm steveoxx1991 and i can NOT growl, scream, shout etc.. and i'm so jealously, because VokillCovers is sooo godlike *_* But, i hurts my pride.. okay okay, now some flame @him and loading up a vocal cover..... with bad quality, an extrem ugly guy in pants (:DD hell yeah so sexy) and do anything excluding brutal death vocals yo

  • @Br1ngM3Th3H0r1z0n all this shit talk from someone who likes bring me the horizon hahaha ill pity you instead of trying to fight you lol

  • if your voice is cracking you havent mastered it and until you master it your in position to be showing others your "technique" after 3 years its still cracking your doing something wrong you should be able to hold a smooth roll not sound like your on the bad end of a cell phone call with hardly any signal and if by slime you mean siliva you are incorrect milk does not increase siliva production it just coats your throat and stomach lining which is why if you have acid reflux they tell you to

  • @steveoxx1991 Dude we should stop discussing. I respect your criticism, but some criticism is totally wrong imho. This will be my last comment.

    1) Cracking doesn't mean unexperienced. When you do the one sort of fry - then its unexperienced. The thing that i do hast that cracky sound. Even in experienced musicians / vocalists.

    2) I don't mean saliva. I mean the slime in your throat. The slime when you have to cough a lot. And that is scientifically proved !!!!

  • @VokillCovers no actually its not lol im experienced and my voice doesnt crack same with phil from white chapel or mitch from suicide silence or bos or anyone ive heard signed has had a cracked low and please enlighten me on where the hell "slime" is located in the human anatomy and what its purpose is

  • sorry dude you have not mastered screaming lol do i really need to respond to this with my own cover?

i dont want to upset you

  • @steveoxx1991 I haven't mastered it. No one has mastered it. Yeah respond to it, i know which cover people will judge better ;D

  • @VokillCovers lol you just made a mistake give me a few days to decide on a song and get the lyrics down lol get ready for a lesson in vocals home boy i assure you the quality will not be as good because i will be using my android but it will be good enough just wait

  • @steveoxx1991 Its not about competition at all. Again. I'm looking forward to it :)

  • dude no offense but your voice still cracks and im not saying its impossible to drink milk and scream but for optimum performance its a fact thick drinks that coat your throat affect the flexibility of your cords how long you been doing this kidd?

  • @steveoxx1991 A cracking voice can but is no general sign for an unexperienced singer. It depends on technique. My fry + false chord technique is rather raspy and it will stay raspy cause I'm doing it since nearly 3 years. Milk can affect your vocals positively if you haven't got enough slime in your throat - because milk produces slime. If you already have enough slime - that wouldn't be so good of course. It depends on technique too, since i can scream whenever I want (e.g. sore throat).

  • @steveoxx1991 And if you still doubting - watch the live vids of my band UPON A RED SKY (just search it on youtube or take this vid - its rather new /watch?v=AW3pAcw09WQ ). I'm sure they will convert you ^.^

  • IM SORRY DUDE BUT YOUR NOT EXPERIENCED ENOUGH AT THIS TO BE MAKING A VIDEO ON THIS DUDE SORRY BUT YOUR VOCALS ARE STILL VERY YOUNG AND NO NOT DRINK ANY THING MILK WILL COAT YOUR THROAT AND CAN AFFECT YOUR SOUND STICK WITH WARM WATER -.-

  • @steveoxx1991 Hi again Captain Capslock. Im experienced enough. trust me. My vocals aren't young - what gives you the evidence that this is right? The thing with the drinking is rather complicated. One likes milk, others don't. You CAN'T generalize that. For me it works perfectly.

  • So I'm definitely breathing through my diaphragm. And my lows come out. Pretty good sounding, but not very loud at all. What am I doing wrong?

  • @jordanpwnstheworld Then your propably doing fry vocals. These technique needs to be shouted to be loud. I don't actually have the experience to give you advice in this technique, sorry. Thanks for your other kind comments in the vids ;D

  • good tutorial but i have 2 things, 1.about the drinking part its not good to drink anything that could make your throat dry, 2. how long should i practice a day?

  • You can't do frys and false chords at the same time, it just can't be done. Frys let little air through where false chords let a lot of air through, you're just tightening your throat when doing the false chords is all.

  • @hobojoe102 It can be done. Will post an evidence in some time.

  • 1:15

When you said that I was like, "Duh! Breathing is the most important thing you can ever do!" xD

  • @vokillcovers..? When I try and scream louder my voice just stops..I can do it quietly but when I raise it just cuts out and hurts...how do I get better or fix tha? I wanna start my screams to add to my reg vocals..trying to get more killswitch engaged or miss may I mixed with a Lil all that remains or destroy the runner even ormnium gatherum
