@MrAsungot but i do not carry the gravity of my name into soaring heights........ please go back and wash your douche bag before going into this highly civilized diversion that FEW people can only understand and appreciate.. isang third rate na gunggong na katulad mo ang makakaappreciate nito... methinks not!!!!!!
You are probably thinking about Rubinstein's performance with LSO and Andre Previn, but Rubinstein played this piece for many years, with different orchestras, and differend conductors.
And the tempo is maestoso, and Martha just doesn't play it that way. she just should'n play romantic comositions, maybe 20the century compositions fit her better.
And Martha doesn't play anything like anyone else. There would be no point in doing that. This concerto's been played millions of times before. Her interpretations are almost always refreshing!
Oh, you haven't heard this concerto until you've heard Rafal Blechacz play it! It's not on YouTube, and his CD comes out in America in February, I think. But, you can buy it online as an import. Really, it is the best I've ever heard by far! Any Chopin fan MUST hear it!
No, he plays it slower than her and it is not rushed at all. It has more emotion than Argerich and Rubinstein combined, but not too much emotion to be annoying. Just hear it when it comes out.
Her face is angelic. I wish she would put her hair up.

artur rubinstein' performance is the best
antinoj2005 2 years ago
rubinstein's performance on youtube is deathly boring.
it's both slow and choppy which i thought was difficult to do. but it happened.
maybe it's because i'm used to performances by Gyula Nemeth & argerich which are faster...

Is maestoso a tempo? (this is an actual question)

at the time of this perfomance was already 38 years old allthough she seems younger . Music keeps you young for ever....

Argerich's Chopin is second to none.
Surprised that she was young at that time but her playing has so much of depth that is way beyond her age.

The openning was kinda scary, she was rushing.
