You guys do know the guitar player is Tommy Talarico...His the creator and CEO of this concert and his one of the worlds most popular video game music composers, hosted Electric playground(an old video game show) and he is ALL OVER the gaming scene etc etc etc.... Its funny how you say he has no respect for this >.> He created this show and you should see his other work. Thats just how he is from seeing him in other things and meeting him in real life.his a goofy, hilarious and awesome person.
That guitar player (the younger one) is not feeling it the right way. It might sound uptight of me to say there is a right way to feel music, but he is just feeling the rythm without any care or respect for the context of the song.
That said, the violins didn't bother me that much. It's different than the song I love, but it's not bad IMO.
You can't tell me the SNES - PS1 didn't have the best game music of all time. PS1 RPG's had phenomenal music tracks. And they couldn't even provide the quality of sound we have today. Yet I have never heard the same music that just aroused the flame of adventure in you're soul. And you knew, you knew immediately you were being transported somewhere fantastic.
"We loved so many, yet hated so much. We hurt others and were hurt ourselves. Yet even then we ran like the wind, while our laughter echoed. Under cerulean skies.."
I love this tune, but the way it ended was extremely gay for some reason... And that "electric" guitarist is more annoying then a cock blocking little brother!
Chrono Cross was a Stone monument in any child's history that grew up around the PS1 Era.. and was Filled with Tremendously good Music for a video game.. the Intro is no Exception :3
@angelofphoenix1983 no I particularly like the sounding of the violin guy starting 1:30. this guy does not fiddle and whatnot, which makes his playing sound really pure and clean. if you see other lives where different guys play the violin for this song, I think you will notice the difference.
I know nothing about playing violin, and what the other guys are doing may not necessarily be a bad thing, and it may just as well be the difference of taste, but his violins sounds the best to me.

The additions they made were disappointing.

I'm surprisingly OK with the little guitar additions, but the violins are an octave too high and much too quiet :((
I'm usually not that picky about this sort of stuff, but this song is literally my favorite video game music of all time.

@deth2munkies I personaly really way prefer this high version of the song. Way less austere IMO. And so EPIC.

@deth2munkies I agree, the violins being too high and the ending made this version sour to me.

Song is Time's Scar/Scars of Time depending on your translation. It's by far my favorite musical piece in gaming history.

He is just so freaking cheesy. It annoys the crap outta me. Respect is there thought you know. Just not a fan of his presence is all.

I really like the fresh and pure sounding of the violinist's playing but really do not like the change at the end.
