  • All i cared about was the Rammstein t-shirt he's wearing

  • i enjoyed this... satirical blow to DK. i like that jello points out that people who are rich have way too much in their favor helping them to be that way. but, stealing from the rich to feed the poor isn't the correct solution. it isn't reasonably sustainable. (especially by government) not to mention that it's fundamentally flawed because it's... well, stealing.

nobody has the right to anyone else's wealth!

  • learn to sing buddy.... tedious, I couldn't watch the whole thing, the band was tight.

  • @forcesofattraction : As if singing punk rock requires skill. Besides, I've had a lot of practice in the last two years.

  • @ulatekh Practice is good, put up the revised ed. don't take yourself too seriously, I don't. :)

  • @forcesofattraction : I haven't made a revised edition. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt, moved on.

  • @ulatekh well with that said, and I agree your awful, take the damn thing down then if you have really moved on.

Narcisism is an affliction to the rest of us, sufferer.

  • @forcesofattraction : Your ability to totally miss my point is just precious, and mostly ineffective.

  • Fuck this song, Fuck you, you're one ignorant Fuck, I Love Dead Kennedy's!

  • @Awesomeman37 : Wow, your thoughtful and eloquent argument makes me want to stop everything I'm doing and worship the ground you walk on!

BTW, nice nickname. You know, Narcissistic Personality Disorder is a psychiatric illness.

At least we agree on one thing...the Dead Kennedys rule!

  • @ulatekh I may not like the song but the lyrics are clever. And yeah the Dead Kennedy's fucking rock, By the way tell your bass player that he is really good.

  • dumb fuck

  • @sekeist : Vulgarity, noncomprehension, AND intolerance. A shining example of the left wing.

BTW, nice channel. You think you're hardcore, but you are SO Dave Matthews.

  • @ulatekh

Do you actually think that is a shining example of the left wing? I am sorry, I belong to neither side but as an outsider (not American) I can determine that the right wing harbours the most idiots. I've actually heard republicans use "academic" as a pejorative. Liberals aren't perfect either (far from it) but the right wing is full of a bunch of idiots.

  • @JordeeVee : Generalizations without substance don't make for a strong argument. And using "academic" as a perjorative is meant to imply that the person lacks the real-world experience that would provide crucial insight into the worth of their ideas.

BTW, you're in no position to put down others' intelligence while writing sentences like "the right wing is full of a bunch of idiots".

  • Great cover... the Dead Kennedys song and this cover are both true... both republicans and democrats are guilty of taking advantage of people.

  • @whatsername516122 : Finally...someone that understands that the left-leaning half of the Ruling Party is no more or less virtuous than the right-leaning half of the Ruling Party. Thanks for the comment...I needed a break from the ranters.

  • Search David Harvey RSA Animate and watch the first video

  • @ahumancertainty : If this video is anything to go on, David Harvey is a very sloppy thinker. He freely mixes facts, opinions, and suppositions in his discussion. At least he has the honesty to admit that he doesn't have a solution. If you're taken by his discussion, then your critical-thinking skills need a lot of work.

  • @ulatekh Yes, a mixture of facts, opinions and suppositions. That's what a lecture is. However, Davide Harvey is a distinguished professor who has written several books on the subject and garnered the respect of thinkers both inside and outside his field. Therefore I think his combination of facts, opinions and suppositions is quite valid. I think his analysis may have gotten under your skin since you didn't actually critique it. What critical theory do you read? The newspaper?

  • @ahumancertainty : Deferring to "referent authority", i.e. trying to boost his credibility by calling him a distinguished professor, is a known negotiation fallacy. His analysis didn't get "under my skin"; I simply didn't think it was solid enough to be worth dissecting. And a "critical theory" isn't something one reads, it's more of a way of life. Face it, dude...you're way out of your depth here.

  • @ulatekh You may think it's a technically weak argument, but it doesn't change the fact that Harvey is an expert, and you are parading around like a neo-liberal Weird Al. Critical theory is written by theorists, then usually published in book form for other people to read. It helps us understand how the state relates to the population and how power is established, and by whom. Theory is absolutely essential for one to be politically aware.

  • @ahumancertainty : "It's a weak argument, but he's still an expert." Wow. you're too clueless to even realize how clueless you sound. Please, for your own sake, pull yourself out of your downward spiral.

And if you're trying to fault a neo-liberal Weird Al for not being an expert or a distinguished professor, then I think you're really missing the point.

  • @ulatekh You may think it is a weak argument because you have no grasp of politics and choose to work within the small-minded framework that has been presented to you by the mainstream media. I am trying to make clear that your song should be ignored. If you are going to put ideas like this out into the world, you should know that they are counterproductive. Since you have used a classic punk song for your ends it is my duty to give you shit.

  • @ahumancertainty : "Mainstream media"? I haven't even watched television in about 5 years. As for your charge of ignorance, you have been rocketing from one poorly-thought-out argument to another, and appear to be incapable of recognizing this. I'm perfectly happy to let the YouTube-viewing public at large read this discussion and decide which one of us is ignorant.

Oh, and thanks for drawing more attention to my song with your long-winded and strident arguments. I'm forever grateful.

  • Comment removed

  • @ulatekh I told Fox News and they want to do a segment on you. Thanks for writing, "Thank you ahumancertainy for enlightening me. I rescind everything I said in the song because I now understand that it is profoundly stupid and embarrassing to myself and my fellow citizens. I understand the Dead Kennedys now and I will never listen to Dream Theater again." And thank you ulatekh, for helping me understand how to better use quotation marks.

  • @ahumancertainty : So in the end, you escape into fantasy land? Wow. You appear to be having a psychotic break right here on my own channel. I'm deeply entertained, as I'm sure everyone else is too.

  • @ulatekh Ok, I'll let you get back to defending the rich so they can continue to take advantage of you. I'm sorry that you can't enjoy the Dead Kennedys, but I'm sure you can't enjoy any decent music, art or film. I don't think there is even one interesting or remotely creative person on the right. Nor any intellectuals. Hmmm, curious.

  • @ahumancertainty : Wow...if that reply doesn't prove your arrogance and closed-mindedness. nothing will. I'm really glad you oppose me...if someone like you actually approved of me, I would figure I was doing something wrong. And I enjoy the Dead Kennedys quite a bit.

  • @ulatekh no u

  • @ulatekh Did you seriously just call somebody "closed-minded"? There's another typical hackneyed argument instrument off the list. You're running out. This is dangerous, you might have to start making relevant points!

  • @straightedge442 : Awww, did you miss me? That's almost touching. Oh, and saying "hackneyed argument" is obviously SO much better than saying "closed-minded". Thanks for demonstrating why I don't have to work very hard to refute opinions like yours.

  • @ulatekh You know, I've read your latest comment at least two times and have failed to see you refute anything. Saying hackneyed argument instrument is considerably better than saying closed-minded. Calling somebody closed-minded is making a general declaration that rarely pertains to what they say. Every bad arguer uses it at least once in every argument. I called it a hackneyed argument instrument because that is exactly what it is.

  • @straightedge442 : Wow, you're wound up so tight, your head might explode. I'd recommend you chill the hell out, but on the other hand, I think I'd like to see your head explode. Also, making claims about "every bad arguer" is a strawman argument, which is a sign of being...a bad arguer. Sigh. It's so easy to reveal how empty your reasoning is. I dunno...maybe you're trying to bore me to death.

  • @ulatekh I actually agree with that statement about calling somebody a bad arguer. But neither of us have used any reasoning because all we've done is call each other bad arguers. If we discuss something else, there may be a purpose to this. By the way, I love the closing statements on everything you say to me like "It's so easy to reveal how empty your reasoning is. I dunno...maybe you're trying to bore me to death." I don't have room for the others, but they're posted on the page.

  • @straightedge442 : Oh, you're trying to reason now? The last I heard, and I quote, "You're implying that I gave up immediately when I never started." Are you saying you've started now? As for the closing statements you refer to, their intent is to point out how you're inadvertently making an ass of yourself in public, so that maybe you'll stop doing this to yourself. Looks like I've failed miserably to make my point. That's fine...it's your loss, and my conscience is clear.

  • @ulatekh Yes. I've started. I enjoy entertaining your belief that I give a crap what you think. You have a very condescending nature and you have failed miserably to make one valid point. If you're ultimately concerned with people making asses of themselves in public, why did you make this video?

  • @straightedge442 : You're confusing your opinions with facts. Talk about condescending. And if you don't give a crap what I think...why do you spend so much time here? Hell, you were gone for a month, and then out of the blue, you come back. Face it...what you say doesn't match up with how you act.

  • @ulatekh I'm having an unbelievably hard time understanding your logic.

  • @straightedge442 : Actually, I find it easy to believe. You're young, you're inexperienced, and you have yet to learn that strident expressions of righteous indignation don't get you very far. There's a reason that punk rock is mostly a young person's genre, you know.

  • @ulatekh I didn't believe your logic because it made no sense. I would much rather be in the position I'm in right now than becoming an instrument of regurgitation like you have. I don't think a part of growing up is becoming a mass-produced distributor of common garbage. You are just one of the many to form a carbon-copy of the generation that was detrimental to America.

  • @straightedge442 : If you're comfortable with self-centered jumping to conclusions, that's fine with me. I'll let the YouTube-viewing public at large decide which one of us is clueless.

  • @ulatekh You never give examples of what you're describing. I would love to let the youtube community decide which one of us is clueless. If humanity isn't completely down the toilet, it probably won't be too difficult.

  • @straightedge442 : I agree, let the public decide. I've given you plenty of examples, you just don't like any of them. The bottom line is, any political philosophy has to be, in the end, self-sustaining. The track record of socialist states shows unequivocally that socialism is NOT self-sustaining...it ends in poverty and collapse every time. Limited government and free markets, while they seem "unfair" to you, are self-sustaining, and for that reason alone, will always be superior.

  • @ulatekh So you are now assuming that I am a Socialist. I think your mind has deteriorated in the time we've been having this discussion. Free markets don't exist. If they did, they would be by far the best economic system conceived by man.

  • @straightedge442 : If you're not seriously left of center, then why are you so pissed off about my song?

  • @ulatekh Obama's goal isn't to "spread the wealth around" as advocated by Glenn Beck. A song with so much ignorant hate shouldn't be enjoyed by anybody. Also, do you seriously think that liberalism and socialism are synonymous. I'm not saying that I support either, but you proved to be a generally intelligent person despite your ignorance until you said that. Maybe reconsider what you were trying to say, maybe I misinterpreted.

  • @straightedge442 : Obama's goal IS to "spread the wealth around"...he admitted as much to Joe The Plumber during the campaign. YouTube has the video. ObamaCare (i.e. "The Patient Protection And Affordable Care Act", since you asked earlier) is a perfect example of that. Extending "unemployment benefits" for 2 years, while bashing the "rich" that own small businesses, is another example. I've heard of Glenn Beck, but since I haven't had cable TV in about 5 years, I've never seen or heard him.

  • @ulatekh You're really stuck on the Joe The Plumber garbage still? Maybe since you don't have cable TV, you didn't get to see that "Joe the Plumber" was not a plumber and that he owed taxes. Bringing up the low class is not Socialism.

  • @straightedge442 : How does who Joe The Plumber is have anything to do with whether Obama said he wanted to spread the wealth around? Face it, Obama said that, so your reason for being offended by my song is nil. And taking from the "rich" just because they're "rich" IS socialism.

  • @straightedge442 why does he owe taxes? taxing is government-sanctioned theft.

he owes taxes like he owes the mafia protection money.

  • I don't what to say. Get a fucking clue, I guess. I suppose you aren't aware of how myopic your attitude is. It reflects badly upon America. Obviously you see nothing wrong with the fact that many are very poor and few are very rich. Complaining about taxing the rich is simply offensive to hard working poor people. Poor people actually work just as hard as rich people. I don't know if you knew that.

  • @ahumancertainty : I find it telling that you can't actually respond to what I said, and have to resort to ad hominem attacks. And who said I was rich? I'm nowhere close. I merely think it's important to preserve the right to become rich. The bottom line remains the same...a poor person never offered anyone a job.

  • @ulatekh Sorry, but you pissed me off by taking such a good song and inserting your limp political complaint. You clearly know nothing about punk, and I should have realized that from the start. If you are interested in hearing some right-wing punk, may I suggest a band called Skrewdriver? Sorry I just assumed that you were rich, but I guess you refuse to support your own class interest in the hopes that you may one day become rich. You won't.

  • @ahumancertainty : From what I can tell, you're a perfect example of what I hate about the left wing -- the class envy, the depressed sense of failure, and the intolerance. I may never be rich, but I at least I'm trying. You won't make an effort, and want others to make up the difference. But as much as you'd like it to be otherwise, you can't repeal the laws of nature by popular assent.

  • @ulatekh Class envy? Sense of failure? Depends on what we're working for. I'm working for an equitable society that doesn't treat poor people like shit, or even allow poverty to exist. I don't have a foot in the upper or lower classes. I look around me and see some people suffering and others with an excess of wealth. Who wants to be rich when others are poor? While you try to be rich I'm trying to build a better system. You can't even imagine a world without capitalism. That's defeat.

  • @ahumancertainty : Wow, you come right out and admit you want to repeal the laws of nature by popular assent, and don't even realize it. Also, I guess you ignored when I explained that what you call "excess wealth" is the money that's invested to create jobs for the not-rich. But I forgive you...odds are, you'll change your mind when you grow up.

  • It's funny because you could have just sung the Jello Biafra's lyrics without sarcasm and it would have the same meaning as your song.

We could tax the poor instead right? They obviously have more excess income. Then CEOs of big corporations can continue to expand by shipping their jobs to China and India where there are fewer regulations against paying workers less than it costs to stay alive. And then the wealth trickle down. Just a little tiny trickle.............drip..............drip

  • @ahumancertainty : Sigh...I get tired of arguing with ignorant people.

Outsourcing continues to grow because of bad U.S. tax policy. Overseas corporate profits that are brought back into the U.S. are taxed at a 35% rate. If they're not brought back into the U.S., they're not subject to that tax. So corporations are encouraged, by U.S. tax law, to invest overseas profits in overseas locations. Congress could end this stupidity any time they want, but they don't.

  • @ahumancertainty : Oh, and regarding "excess income"...rich people invest for a living, which creates jobs for the poor and middle class. Their investment of their money is what lets you and I live, since we can't afford to invest for a living. That's hardly "excess" income. We've seen what the federal government does when they tax the rich...stimulus payments to dead people, and Viagra for convicted child molesters. I suppose you prefer that?

  • It's like you took a good song and the you removed all the good parts, just leaving behind a dried up little turd.

  • @ahumancertainty : You make your argument with the level of class that I've come to expect from the left wing.

  • this is funny

  • Well fuck this guy...nothing else to say...

  • @straightedge442 : With enemies like you, the right-wing doesn't need friends.

  • @ulatekh You have a ton of friends...every lazy, fat, stereotypical, self-absorbed American.

  • @straightedge442 : Do you have any point to make, besides mindless insults? And are you really comfortable admitting to the whole world that you don't think any more deeply than that?

  • @ulatekh No, I could state many relevant points...but for what purpose? You obviously don't agree with any of my views and you obviously aren't very intelligent.

  • @straightedge442 : If you had relevant points, you would have stated them first, instead of resorting to crass insults. I mean, you couldn't be the sort of person that deliberately punts on first down, now, could you?

  • @ulatekh You're implying that I gave up immediately when I never started.

  • "The decision involves nothing less than the surrender of the taxing power to the moneyed class...Even the spectre of socialism is conjured up to frighten Congress from laying taxes upon the people in proportion to their ability to pay them." Pollock v. Farmers' Loan & Trust (1895)

  • @wgilroy : I find it telling that you had to go back over 100 years to try to find a relevant quote. In modern times, most people (except our President) realize that the vast majority of "the rich" are small business owners, and burdening them only reduces employment and stifles entrepreneurship...which is what we're seeing now.

  • What job do you do that benefits society? What tax bracket are you in?

  • @BlinkySauce : I'm not rich, if that's what you're asking -- my savings were depleted by being seriously underemployed all last year. Currently, I program training simulations for Military Intelligence.

  • For instance, what do you say to the fact that 45000 Americans die every year from lack of health insurance that they do not seek because they cannot afford it?

  • @themysteriouscrumpet : Not only does my song have nothing to do with health care, but they recently passed ObamaCare in this country. Once again, you have demonstrated your lack of debating ability. Just quit while you're behind.

  • @ulatekh You even use off-the-wall, typical terminology like "ObamaCare". Explain what "ObamaCare" is and why you oppose it.

  • Present me with some statistics, some concrete references, some incontrovertible facts, sir, and we will see exactly who presents their arguments without thinking them through first. I can produce them if you can.

  • @themysteriouscrumpet : You're awfully uppity over a simple parody song. I'm also not buying your transition from raving lunatic to cool, calm, rational debater. Your abrupt transition is typical behavior for a sociopath.

  • I assure you that in Canada our government is currently whittling away at the social safety net in order to give massive tax cuts to the wealthiest one percent and increase taxation for the rest of us to purchase a fleet of jet bombers to liberate Afghanistan from its infrastructure and high birth rate. Socialism has not yet completely had its wicked way with us, comrade.

  • Very well then, shall we have an intellectual dispute?

  • @themysteriouscrumpet : No thanks. You've already revealed what sort of "thinker" you are, and I learned a long time ago that it's impossible to win an argument against an idiot.

  • Besides, if you are working hours upon hours a day to make ME rich and you're still having to sell your organs, it's your own damn fault, isn't it? We cannot tax the rich! It is imperative that we tax the people who will be soon be placed in our privately owned prisons once they last of their incomes are gone.

  • @themysteriouscrumpet : Canada must be a much worse place to live than I thought. Thank goodness I live in the U.S.A.

  • Oh yes, they create jobs, just enough to keep you alive to squeeze as much profit and blood and toil out of you before cigarettes and vile chemicals and Mcdonalds has you on the brink of death, they take out a life insurance policy on you behind your back, declare your own life insurance policy to be null and void once you become mortally ill, and collect a fat profit when you die before they move on Paraguay or Malaysia

  • @themysteriouscrumpet : Wow, you must be the undisputed master of the strawman argument. I'm almost impressed.

  • Comment removed

  • @thereminofdoom : Yep, there's that vaunted liberal "tolerance" I hear so much about.

  • Comment removed

  • @thereminofdoom : And Republicans, and nationalism, evidently.

I can see how you'd think my lyrics are Republican (even though I'm a conservative, not a Republican), but how exactly are they nationalist?

  • They may have taken his money, but this fat motherfucker's grocery budget hasn't been impacted at all.....stupid asshole

  • Oooh, vulgarity AND a fat joke. Your parents must be so proud of you.

  • Fuck Taxing them. Shot them and take it.

  • Says the parasite, right before killing his host.

  • Says the fool, ignorant as always.

  • Care to elaborate on that? I doubt you can.

Rich people invest for a living, and employ people. Without them, there are no jobs for us.

More recently, they tried applying your philosophy in Zimbabwe...it did NOT work out for them.

  • Why do you need rich people to control your entire life? The community can do it much better than a few rich bastards who employ people only to make a shit ton of dirty money for themselves.

  • I challenge you to show any instance where "the community" can do it better and more efficiently than self-interested investors. And are you going to comment on how your philosophy was put to use in Zimbabwe, with disastrous results, or are you just going to pretend it's not there? Face facts...socialism fails every time it's tried.
