@getkristan are you familiar with Nick Cave's body of work? Saying that he has no talent is ludicrous. Are you familiar with the original performance of this song by Screaming' Jay Hawkins? If not, check it out. Nick is not overdoing it at all. What I like in this performance is the tempo, the rhythm, the guitar. Adds up to a creepy macabre that I enjoy. There is even better but similar piece "Six bells chime" by crime and city solution, a classic.

Consider this: If this was a fat old bald guy in polyester doing this you would be laughing at him. But Nick was "cool" with the right look and attitude. CCR and Hawkins may have the edge in terms of breaking it off with a valiant pride and dignity.
