lol....What? The ancient equivalent of abrams tanks? I hope they realize that the role of an abrams tank is markedly different than of heavy infantry. Simply a tank can provide ranged fire, mobility, and is heavily armored. But still this show can be quite enjoying. :)

Combined arms in modern warfare is simply more complex than the classical era. Technology has led to new roles and allowed units to encompass multiple roles previously nonexistent on the battlefield

There is no equivalent to a MBT in "pre-tank" warfare. At best maybe a cataphract wielding a bow but never heavy infantry fighting in a phalanx. And yet an Abrams can still function as actual artillery and does not include its ability to be used in concert with other mobile units like APCs

I did mention at best a cataphract (earlier heavy cavalry) with a bow. But an Abrams has intense firepower and is also an all-terrain device. It really isnt comparable to anything in the "pre-tank' era.

And an Abrams without any tracking is just a pill box. lol

Why do they always say the players are "attempting to change the course of history" when they're always in charge of the side that historically won? (If there are episodes when they're not, I haven't seen them yet.) This is obviously so the experts can show them "how it ACTUALLY happened" after the players lose, but it is a bit misleading.

At last, a team which can do their recon without throwing away their scouts!

Usually the side that historically won most of these battles where vastly outnumbered or in such a bad position that it was a great achievement for the generals of the time to win the battle. They're testing ordinary people to see if they can do something as good as the person that did.

Using Rome total war mechanics, the enemy has a higher advantage with their Macedonian Hoplites and Spartan Elite Hoplites. But they lack calvary, so the best way is to flank one enemy at a time. Concentrate on either sides with the main bulk of your enemy with a hoplite or two hold of a rear attack and using the horses flank and charge through your chosen enemy from the rear. Once the enemy is decimated, reinforce your flank and do the same. Prince of Macedon's "Hammer and anvil" technique.

I didn't say he's a god. I just say he pulls it off more cleanly. Secondly he uses other factions with the same technique as well. Using not only the calvary to envelope the enemy but his infantry and auxiliary units as well. Thirdly he post his loses and near win victories as well. But enough about POM. This is about Real Time commanders on RTW engine. If anything, comment on the player's strategy, not the strategy of a pro.
