No, they don'y really seem to get hot. The chip has a power consumption of about nill so the only heat is from the chipset(NB+Graphics) and hard drive. They make some warmth eventually but nothing like a normal leg burner laptop.

Beleive it or not.... But just ask yourself on some blog some users !!!! They will confirm that it is not fake. Or go to one shop with Trackmania on USB key and make it yourself and you will see that you can play some oldies smoothly on this incredible small NB

Do keep in mind that these things don't have an optical drive, so you'll either need to make dvd images or watch Xvid

The tutorial stage worked fine with no lag at all. However the game crashed when loading the first stage.

If you look more closely, you will notice it is slow as hell, it barely manages 3-5 frames per second at lowest quality settings. Low-power screen and youtube video compression really smooth that down a lot, so it's not quite as noticeable.

But one definately cannot play like that, really, since it means a delay between input and visible output of about half a second!

The laziest cpu in the world the Intel Atom (sleeps all the time to save power) only wakes up to do simple tasks. Intel Atom has super low wattage uses 4~5 watts of power, extremely long battery life for such a device. The atom cpu is smaller than a penny! Pentium M is older faster, and inefficient compared to the Intel atom. The pentium M uses 5~27 watts Avg 24.5 watts. For surfing the web, watching youtube, and light gamming the MSI wind is Frostycomputers choice for ultra portability.

It can gives you more good time than play FreeCell under windows, but don't expect replace BIG computer at 1499USD !!!

I have a UMPC that has only 512MB of RAM, a 1.1 GHZ Pentium M and an Intel Chipset (Integrated GPU) and I play games such as GTA SA, Command & Conquer Generals, Halo, Half Life, Machines at war, Swat 4. I have about 30 or more games installed. Of course it won't ever replace a big Desktop but it should not be understimated either.

A pentium M processor is way faster then the msi wind as it has either 1mb or 2 L2 cache and the wind only has 512kb so it is considered fast

Yea it has 1 MB L2 cache and plays GTA SA on low settings with very minimal problems. I was hoping that the supposedly new CPU in the MSI Wind would perform better but I kept on hearing its performance was lower than a 900MHZ Celeron.

I mean, if you want to use it as Gaming machine, maybe you should check for NB with GPU as Nvidia or ATI and larger screen (15.4 or 17'') MSI also have G series that sounds great... but for playing when you have some free time outside or in the train or when a teache is not there... just good enough !!! I don't know for eeePC, but 10'' seems the minimum size to play well !! and 80G HDD is also mini size to put several games, movies, mp3 and photo...

yes the gpu is restricted, i think they made it 133 mhz while its capable of 400, i dunno why, but im gonna try to overclock it. as for battery time it is said that with a 6 cell battery you can get up to 5 hours 30 minutes, but the standard Wind comes with 3 cell battery
