how about: create competing companies which use profits to reinvest in green efforts and green means of production? thereby eliminating the non-green competition and providing an alternative for the less radical consumers.

I don't know, probably. My parents have a little tree-thing in our kitchen, and although the pot looks big enough, the tree-thing's roots have spread out all the way to the sides, so it can't grow anymore, so it still looks all small and frail. I'd say you need a bigger pot. Maybe? You could release it into the wild?

Siddhartha is an amazing book. An amazing mesh of eastern and western thought. I even put it in my books that shaped me list. :)

As for what to do we do? That is a complex question, and I don't think any good answer would fit in a 500 character limit anyway. ;)

What do we do? I just read a book where a guy tried to irradiate a huge refinery complex so that the area would be unusable for decades thus forcing the US to get off the oil. We could try that. It didn't work in the book but we're pretty sweet and might pull it off. if you get answers please share them.

I had an orchid like Terrence. It actually FINALLY died just last week, and I had to throw it out. The thing dropped all of its flowers and stayed green for a long time, maybe 6 months. Then I thought it was dead and it suddenly came back to life one day and sprouted a bunch more green leaves and was going strong for maybe 6 more months! It never flowered again.....I love plants.
