God Bless you for posting this song. I had never heard this song until just recently at a funeral , a sad occasion, but these types of songs give you that" feeling"and blessed hope. I have also added this to my list of favorites. As I have said before "Nuthin like the ole timey gospel music, let us that remember and love this music continue singing them". Amen
MISIDENTIFICATION. This is THE KNOWLES-JACKSON SEXTET, a group formed out of Chicago's First Church of Deliverance, recorded in 1957. The first lead, R. L. Knowles, was the closest thing to a gospel matinee idol, a very handsome man with a smooth, Kansas City baritone. The second, Myrtle Jackson, had been famous for her coloratura. With the years her voice grew coarser, but she remained a terrific rhythm singer. During the 1940s, they were big STARS.
all i can say is wow, God is good. My grand mother had a stroke...., and is paralyzed on her right side. The first words she started saying in her recovery were this song. I have never heard this song outside of my grandmother singing it. Yesterday her mother passed, this is really got me through my day, thank you for the post, i cant wait to share this with my grandmother as well.
GOD IS GOOD! I'm very sorry to hear of your loss and happy to know that your grandmother is doing well after suffering a stroke. GOD IS GOOD! Praise Him that He maketh all things work together for good, say hello to your grandmother for me and God continue to bless you and your family.
I like this song. My church sings this song. I always wanted to learn this song, but I finally found it here. Thanks for posting this song on youtube.
Thank you for commenting, my information came from the cd, I also have them singing from another cd that has this name and does not mention Knowles/Jackson.
I hate to contradict you but the people singing are the Knowles-Jackson Sextet out of Chicago. Both R.L. Knowles, first lead and Myrtle Jackson, second lead, were members at the First Church Of Deliverance of Chicago. Myrtle sang with Roberta Martin as well as pursuing a solo career......Just so you know.
The Tipton County Male Chorus would sing this son in Covington, Tennessee
