Duran Duran made a better job with A View To A Kill. Too much of Aaaa-aaa-aaaa-aaaah I guess, like there wasn't anything else they could think of. I liked it as a kid but today it does not convince me anymore in a musical manner. I also prefer the movie version, this one always sounded too artificial, like a soup from a bag.
@azerovc i used to think the other way round, but i changed my opinion beacuse in fact the parts wich are not ohhhh-oooooh are more mature here than in a view to a kill in my opinion, the other seems more cheesy..meeting you with a view to a kill? dance into the fire? ..and the ohh-ooooo give to the song a sort of tension mixed with the lyrics.but the good thing with this version in contrast with the one in the movie is that you can hear better morten vocals..
The single from the film is better than this electronic mix. Barry added alot of great stuff and actually sounded like a Bond film. This is rather like something to be found in a McClory remake of Thunderball....
IMO, this version is better than the single version from the film, but the 12 inch mix of the film version is smoother and jazzier with a killer bass line, guitars and strings in the instrumental break and the ending :)
This is even better than the original! This is one of my favorite James Bond intro songs (the others being the one for Goldeneye, the one for License to Kill and the one for Tomorrow Never Dies).
This song has always made me think of a woman I've always wanted to know since childhood...she has no name...no known records...she constantly eludes me with her smiling face being the last thing I see before awaking...
Excellent piece of work!! Thank you very much for Sharing!!!!!
What a way of meeting people and get to see their talent. At first was reluctant being on youtube, but getting to do this has brought me into the houses of some very special people. You are one of them. Life; isn't it wonderful!!! Keep up the good work. Hope You Are Having A Splendid Day!!!!
@levitabusman If you're gonna go round telling people to shut the "fock" up, at least be sure your argument is based in reality and factually correct. They were WAAAAAAAYYYYYY famous before the movie. I know. I was there. And YOU clearly "care" because you left your comment lol
@levitabusman of course not they were so big it was a real phenomena, they had so many hits, there's no much band now that have so much good song on one album they are very few.
@NotOrdinaryInGames This version was actually recorded a year after the film came out, for their album "Stay on these Roads" which came out in 1988. For their album, they preferred to rework the original track they recorded for the Bond film, with new instrumentation and new vocals. I quite like it better.
Vocally superior on this version... but the Berry arrangements on the film version make it sound so much grander, while this one sounds a bit outdated and weak in some moments. I opt for the soundtrack cut.
@80smusicfanNO1 no bullshit. This version is a lot better. A lot more power in the chorus where you actully hear mortens voice. This has soul and a better vocal performence.

Hmm, the drums on this version are really dull. Sound like a quickly chosen drum loop on a keyboard. Good vox tho.

I luv this tune, when Morten sings 'Come the mornin' and the headlights fade away'
One of the most spellbinding hooks EVER.
I think that this was a bond tune diminishes how damn good a pop song this is.
I'm gonna play it again.

I still prefer the original version, it just has so much more musical depth and emotion/

@tryffel8
Music is more about just vocals for me, that's why I'm a fan of a-ha in the first place.
Great instrumentation is just as important to me, and its hard to beat the depth of the Living Daylights original version.
