@twintshelby 11.75 @ 119mph (Have an in car vid here on youtube of it). Turned up the boost after that and switched to ignition cut LC to drop my 60ft and tried to break the 11.6 world record for a stock 2.0 motor.... instead broke a rod! lol ....poor motor didn't owe me anything
@TITFCUKER It's actually the 341cw. I didn't realize it at the time until later, this one is from an 03-04 Cummins. I am looking to pickup the slightly larger 351cw from an 04.5+ 5.9cr.
Love it!!! My 2.2t legacy is ready for the big he351 also.....Just got one for $400,practically new take off....I'm in colorado too...so elevation ..its a bitch huh.! Good job.You made me proud......I just bought a turbonetics t3/t4 and junked the idea b4 it started thanks to holset spooling technology..(the best)
Thank goodness, that there are still people left in the world, who not only know, what aspect ratio is, but also actually care about the correct AR! 5 stars for "(this video I fixed the aspect ratio)"!!!
why i ask is cause i am looking at doing something similar to my setup... but only on a 2ltr. i want to spool faster than a GReddy TD06L2 20G turbo... i normally spool around 4,300 to 4,500 rpm. it's not good for what i do out here.
decapped stockers.. with extra pressure from the Aeromotive regulator.. they come out at about 950cc's... I run around 12.3:1 AFR's and they are pretty maxed
how is the holset handling the higher egt's compared to diesel motors? i've been trying to do a lot of research on these turbos. spool of a vf39 and power of a gt35r. and cheap!
So far so good man. E85 helps though, max of 1450 on egt's. But I also ran ignition cut LC / FFS on it for a while and it's taken that so far. (Though some of the header gaskets blew out from using it). I love this turbo.. l working on my new motor, should be able to turn up the boost Check my other videos if you haven't, managed 11's at t4800ft and traps 118mph... thats at 24psi up here (so 21 at sea level). Thanks for checking out the video, I think for the money it's hard to beat a Holset.
that's pretty nuts man. how long have you been seeing 24 pounds on the 205? i just blew up my 205 with 24 pounds in about 10k miles of that tune. i'm in the process right now of doing a built hybrid.
those are some crazy times. on my dom3 i hit 13.0 my first time dragging. i have a buddy with the same turbo on an 07 sti still only getting 12.4. this is in utah at about 4200 elevation.
Think I have a couple thousand miles on this turbo, I don't drive it much but when I do I get with it, so those are pretty hard miles. I ran it for probably 5k on the old t3/t4 setup I built first and it made pretty fair power with that setup.... before that was a vf39 and I drove it very hard with that. I have no idea how it hasn't exploded yet!!! the 257 even stock will take a lot more abuse.. I stayed with the 205 for the motor im building but fully forged etc. We'll see how that works out...
But with that combo you shouldn't have an problems. Do you have E85 locally.. I can't say enough about how great it is. Only other thing you will probably need to consider is the tranny (if it's still stock). sounds like a good setup though
Yes its an 07... the longer gearing seems a little better for drag racing. You can stretch 4th out to 117-119mph if you rev it out a little. And 5th is more of a 4.5, so you don't bog down if you need to grab 5th. So far I am extremely happy with this tranny, Wasn't hard to swap either, and lets me run the larger in diameter STi stage1 clutch as well.
Please put UEL headers back on :(

great sound to. I have the same bov. And ill be putting this turbo on my rb25det in a few months.

what rpm are you spooling at?
oldgc8 2 years ago
6th gear full boost by 3800 (high elevation doesn't help)
lower gears its quite a bit higher (of course), don't recall off hand probably upper 4's
