Yes, it is DCC (NCE), the crossing signal is powered by an alternate power source, an ACC take-off from a DC power pack located next to the layout block, barely visible at 6:30,I spliced the light detector diodes between both mainlines, to one control box for sensitivity. Four sensors per track so either direction of travel initiates and ends cycle.
I just finished the mountain this weekend, 4 portals!, so a new vid will be up. The DCC is NCE with two 5 amp blocks and a 2 amp yard block. Most engines are QSI equipped.
Wow, that looks amazing. It looks so good it makes me want to consider doing something like that myself. The only problem is I am poor and lazy so it probably wouldn't be a good match.
cool thanks

Great video of a great layout, and you've provided me with inspiration for my own model railroad project. Thank you. :)

I wish I could figure out how to upload the vid without it looking tall and skinny...it looks much better on the video camera play/back, :(

Can you send the video to me? I'll edit it and uplaod it to YouTube

That would be great! Any suggestions for future videos? I am not sure how I am formatting incorrectly.
