I have to separate the lyric (which is kind of warped) from the passion of the singing which is commendable. This guy sings like a wounded animal. Complete over the top hard to duplicate performance. it's been a long time since I've heard this song,and as I am cleaning up in my room,I am listening to some great songs from the 70s and I clicked on this one.Man,I guess I've forgotten how great this song really was and is! I have to separate the lyric (which is kind of warped) from the passion of the singing which is commendable. This guy sings like a wounded animal. Complete over the top hard to duplicate performance. I feel like he must have injured his voice on this track, there's too much pain in telling. I don't think you can quite compare this to anything else. But as for the lyrics: c'mon folks-- you never really felt like this about someone you just plain couldn't have? Take your pulse. You may be dead.
