I agree with your video. Too many people drive without any consideration for others safety. I try to lead by example. The biggest issue here isn't so much merging as speeding and driving like the road is a race track. To top it off, it seems 90% of people here are yapping away on their cell phones while driving. Driving is just that. Driving. It isn't the time to do makeup or chat with a friend or fiddle with anything. Drive. Just.. Drive..

here is a tip for lanechanges that require merging: glance at the sidemirrior without moving your head, stay either middle of lane or the opposide side of where you are changing to. this will make the guy behind you on the other lane think you wont change lanes so he wont accelerate to block you out. now the change: quick mirror/shoulder look, accelerate in the same time. if you are sure there are no bikes and cars quickly change the lane and dont forget the signals.

Stop giving the wrong advise to drivers. Every driver is responsible for there own vehicle. It is up to them to guide the vehicle where it needs to go. Laws dictate when you have the right of way. Racing out the entrance with your signal on is NOT a merge. Merging is done by the vehicle adding itself to the traffic flow. It is designed to keep the highway traffic moving as smooth as possible. Hopefully xulim learned the correct way. Leave driving to those trained the right way.

@doogbj Having the "right of way" does not prevent you from being considerate by creating conditions (when safe and possible) to allow other traffic in more easily. Where most drivers apply this rule they benefit from the times that they are let into traffic themselves. Having driven in different countries/states in North America & Europe I have noticed those where there is better consideration and traffic in those places moves better for everyone.
