  • que tal? me podría facilitar las partitura? lo agradeceré mucho y las aprovechare lo juro.

  • Excelente <3 Por eso me encantó "Goya en Burdeos" :))

  • Sensational version played with verve and panache. The dynamic levels the quartet delivers while still keeping great tone and excitement was extremely impressive. I would love to have been in the front row of this concert!

  • wonderful interpretation! Thank you--definitely one of the best on Youtube!

  • BOCCHERINI IN LOVEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wie schön, die Lyra! Und überhaupt!

  • beautiful

  • great boccherini!!

  • Good!

  • allmost so good as by Melos Quartet, Stuttgart, Narciso Yepes and castagnetten! ( Allmost ).

    Bravo!

  • Penso sia un buon lavoro.

  • Not bad at all. I wonder, is anyone in possession of the version of this same piece with Narciso Yepes (includes the part for Castagnettes). That one is even better and I haven't heard it in years.

  • It is a coincidence. I just heard the Yepes piece on the radio (KUSC) driving to work today (12/3/09)

  • This is really wonderful.

  • Excellent work !Bravo!

  • It sounds well in tune, and they match style and vibrato quite consistently. They have a great blend, and they clearly understand how the energy flows amongst the five parts.

  • Bravo!!... Excelente interpretación...

Very Nice... Congratulations... You five are really good...

I Want to play this piece with my String Quartet and a Guitar...

Where can I find this Score??...

    Thanks!!... :D

  • Thanks ! Ask in any music store for Boccherini Guitar Quintet No 4. G 448

  • strepitoso!!!!!!!!

  • fantastico. Played with a lot of energy and swing!

  • never heard the original...

  • most of you will not believe me, but i'm a student of dejan=P he is teaching me in portugal=)

  • where in portugal?

  • in lisbon in a music school called fmac

  • I am so going to get the music for this and take it to my quartet. All we need is the guitarist and a lot of practice and we'll be golden. Awesome piece, don'cha think?

  • This is all new to me - not fortunate to have had the right sort of education so having to find my own way and yes Master and commander led me here..... It is fabulous stuff, I love it!!!!

  • @Noragirlie63 exacly the same mate :D

  • Always has been one of my favourite songs. I do, though recommend the duet that Julian Bream did with himself (also on YouTube), or even better: the LP version he did with guitar and cembalo.

  • That's SPLENDID!

  • It was great joy to hear such beautiful music. Thank you. This piece is a good demonstration of Boccherini's distinct syncopated sound.

  • Very nicely playing and the balance is fine too! Have you put PA for the Guitar?

  • No, no amplification used here - Dejan has a massive sound !

  • Bravo! Have you done the one in Eminor too?

And how long have you played/rehearsed this quinted? From Japan

  • No, I'm not even aware of an e minor Fandango - will check . Thanks ! Rehearsals were occasional over about six months, perhaps 8 rehearsals in all for the whole program which included a modern suite - 'English Concerto' - based on english rock songs by Vojislav Ivanovich, and the quintet by Castel-Nuovo Tedesco (some movements from both works also on my channel)

  • Amazing!

  • The slow intro is more like a sentimental tea party while the fast part is kind of a circus act in my perception. It might be well done technically but every spirit of the Fandango is lacking. No tension, no macho, no rhythm, no soul. Why do they play it anyway?

  • trop beau je l'ai joué avec un orchestre a cordes mais le solo de guitare est super dur ^^

  • I AWARD THIS 2 DRESDENS...The beautiful ensemble sound and clearly feeling intent is almost entirely eradicated by the quasi-mechanical conceptions of phrase timing.

They have expressive intent but a limited articulative and rhythmic vocabulary.

  • ive played this piece. so awesome!

  • The piece calls for Castanets to be played by the cellist. THe tapping lacks the brightness. Try flicking. Also they have castanets for non-players- they look like spoons. Much more exciting.

    Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks aaronlcguitar - where can we get some of those non-player castanets ?

  • It sounds very modern for sure, and not exactly like the original, but I love it!

  • Hello frickecello I love this music But I am afraid that I have to admit that You are right

  • Is there a DVD of this concert available to buy?

  • send me your details and I'll send you a DVD

  • the best version i have heard !!!

  • Bravo, very good

After watching this I wanted to play this!

  • i like it but they go too fast!

  • In my personal opinion:

I dont agree with the interpretation, it is played too LOUD and too fast, dont forget this is a very old spanish dance, there are other fandangos from great composers that you can hear to get the spanish vibe, I dont think this is really adequate to be danced in the traditional 'estilo espagnol' because the piece is meant to be accompanied with castanets to give the piece a more percussive character...

  • Who are you frickecello ? - I thought I knew all the english speaking cellists in Portugal - I'm assuming you are a cellist - reveal yourself !

  • I will 'reveal' myself, my name is Marcelo Fricke, I dont live in Portugal right now, yes I am a cellist and yes you dont know me.

  • I agree. Fandango is not so fast like this. With this rythm the elegance is lost.

I am from Spain and play the guitar (classical and flamenco) so I know well what I write.

    Good point, frickecello.

  • Thanks Paquitolo. Fine XVIII century spanish music is full of energy, passion, elegance and gallantry, it is really difficult (if one isnt born in Spain or Mexico) to play it with accuracy and with the old 'manera espagnola'. I had the fortune of having a beautiful spanish woman as a girlfriend (that was years ago), she told me a lot about your country's fine rich music, culture and history.

  • I agree with you, but I must confess that this modern interpretation is sounded very well. Don't even forget that Boccherini was italian, and this is one of most beautifull fandango ever written!

  • wonderful music... i will play this music next year inşallah

  • Magnífica interpretación, gracias por ponerla

  • really great! so good or even better than a epoque ["barroque/"classicist"] version!!

  • Wow

  • gracias luigui...

  • yeah!!

    that's great!

I played it in a guitar quartett...

But this version is the best I've ever heard!!!

  • the best so far
