You've got to be resistant, AND theres rules concerning body contact. US football is a much more strategic game, it's like a "mini-war". You've got less rules, concerning body contact, and it's quicker.

@1clint01 rugby has alot of rules concering their tackles, american footbal with their "protective gear" which would be shoulderpads and a helmet, has alot less, getting such a shoulderpad in the stomach (where there is no protection) hurts, and if you get some air and flip so you fall on your head, the helmet isn't going to help your neck when you get full bodyweight on it. 2 pieces of protection more then rugby...but alot less rules on tackles ect. don't defend your own sport without thinking.
