When you're a great actress and a great singer, you can achieve the same sharp emotions and sarcasm without spitting, shouting, and waving your arms around like propellers.
Yes, it's true - Julie was one of those women we thought so pure they never used the bathroom. But, obviously no one remembers Julie did a movie named S.O.B., where she went topless, and did swear. It is nice to hear her take on this song, (LOVE the ending, it's one of the few times you can really tell what the last word of the song is.) and it's so sad that her surgery took her voice. She was a hell of a singing talent, but at least we still have the actress, and she's great at that.
This proves that you don't have to shout your way through this song to make an impact. Dame Julie is always so classy and refined ... even when she's swearing. :D I love all of her little inflections.
