  • Still a great song after 30 years!

  • Wow they really edited this single! Nice Jukebox!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

  • Thanks -- I know what you mean about digitally-perfect music: it just seems flat. I have Ventura Highway by America on 45,and it has a tone on the acoustic guitar, that I cannot hear on my CD.

  • @seeburg220 Omg!! I found this video by accident when I was searching for the music video for the song. My parents use to have one of these jukeboxes in our gameroom when I was a teenager. My brother and I used it over and over when we had friends over and played pool and pinball. It was like seeing an old long lost friend when I saw the Seeburg in the video. Wow. Thanks for sparking all those great memories!!!

  • Great Song...i always liked this but could never figure out who did it.......

.I love the jukebox recording!.....I get so tired of everything these days with everthing sounding so digitalized and studio perfect......this is a breath of fresh air listening to music the way it sounded when I was a kid on those old hi-fi systems our parents. had....Thanks for the post

  • hit #25 pop, #27 rock in the US (Billboard). How'd it do in Holland? God bless!

  • THAT is cool!! Love that tube powered jukebox! This is one of the coolest (make you feel good songs) I can't understand why I heard this song only a couple of times in twenty years on the classic rock stations etc..That guitar riff is so cool and the suspended chord harmonies in the vocals are beautiful and all the instrumental parts as well!!

  • SUPER!! I have a 220 myself; working, all there but original... Outstanding restoration judging from your video!

  • Good Old song back in the day - nice to see the "Old Original Jukeboxes"

  • For many years, I thought this song was sung by Steve Miller. Sounds just like him; and I think that's what ruined Diesel's career. Even though 'Sausalito' is a great song, there is that letdown feeling about it not being sung by a more familiar artist.

  • Ah, the jukebox memories! Great song by Diesel.

  • Heard this tonight on the '80's weekend as the "Lost '80's Cut"-nice to see this get some radio love once again!!

  • Verdraaid goed nummer =)

  • Diesel had wel meer zeer goede nummers, bv ;Going back to china en Good Morning Day. Deze werden alleen veel te weinig gedraaid in Hilversum.

  • THat juke is mad cool..would look great in my game room..man that's nostalgia you have right there.

    signed,

    Jealous

  • I was just listening to this song on my 45 and decided to look it up and well, here it is. Thanks 4 posting it.

  • te gek!

  • nice to see a 220! sounds great too!,

what's going on with the mech plastic? need one? the bulb it needs is a size 27 I believe..I just replaced mine it was dated "1970 lol

  • I have the pink cover, but left it off because a lot of times, the mechanism will re-select the same song and I have to manually trip it. What causes that? I'm thinking it's a weak spring on the trip lever. Also, I need the rubber grommet and screw that holds the plastic cover on the side of the mech. Where can I get that ? Where does the bulb go? I don't see a socket for it. Thanks!

  • the common replay of the same tune (like yours does sometimes) is due to a leaf contact being slightly out of adjustment..nothing serious an experienced seeburg guy and fix that in 2 minutes I don't want to tell you how because there is a possibility you may bend the wrong one causing a bigger problem..I'll do a search on it and try to find strong enough hi res. pics so you can better see the exact leaf contact .

  • the bulg socket is behind the upper title strip glass..if it isn't there you can replace that easily enough again any juke box mechanic can do that in prob. an hour or less..the machine is certainly worth putting a couple hundred into it, these are worth some dough and very pretty all lit up!

  • 220 has no upper title strip area (my mistake) however it is behind the cover that says "western" show tunes" etc

  • Great Jukebox Bud! And a great north Califorina tune to pic for the vid.

  • great song! and I love the jukebox!

  • my best friends parents, back in the dear 1970s, owned a restaurant w/ a jukebox, 10 cents a song, or 3 for a quarter, i played the hell outta alice cooper's Teenage Lament 74.

  • u sure it was the 80s? 1979 mebbe?

  • According to Wiki, it was 1981 that they charted in the USA

  • Love the song, but LOVE the visual tour of the jukebox. When it puts the record away, that is a sound and kind of satisfaction you don't get with the cd or mp3 jukeboxes. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks! Ya, my iPod has 2300+ songs on it, where the Seeburg has 100. The Seeburg is still cooler :))

  • I remember this too i was in high school when this came out

  • I dont know when this came out but in1982 my senior yr in HS this song was on our local station in Corvallis Oregon every day and then BAM ..it was gone and for over 25 yrs i tried to find it or who it was and finally by the magic of youtube i found it....And btw great juke i have a repop that plays cds..:)

  • This is the original edited version. The new full version they released later has the missing 2nd Verse and all the guitar rifts that were cut in the single version

  • That is a beautiful machine you got there. I remember those from when I was a kid... always dropping dimes in them... nothing takes dimes anymore!

Great song too. Takes me back to high school.

  • Diesel was the first soloproject of Kayak-drummer Pim Koopman. He later formed the band The President with the rather good single you're gonna like it. Love the energy of this song. Although not such a great hit in The Netherlands it remains a radioclassic.

  • This is a hell of a song and I use it as a bump all the time.

  • I remember when I was in high school and the juke box in our cafeteria was 3 plays for 25 cents.

I loved hearing this song again. You take good care of that device my friend.

    Thank you!

  • Thanks for the share, Val!

  • When I was a kid there was this pizza parlor that had the exact same jukebox and as a matter of fact, this was one of the songs me and my sister used to play back in the day!!! Great childhood memories-thanks for keeping them alive!!

Better hope WMG doesn't claim this one like they did the other video posted of this great tune!!

  • Thanks for the comments. Ya, I hope they don't either. They have a sniffer program that works pretty well, apparently. If they do, I'll have to find a non-WMG song to play.

  • So you found a 45 from where?

  • I'm having trouble remembering where I got it. I think I got it in a stack of 45's from a friend.

  • Great machine but also awesome music !

    niwiro

  • Thanks! Ya, the guitar hook is awesome. They don't write songs like that anymore.

  • Awesome restoration she looks fantastic

    GREAT vid five *****'s

    Bill S.
