Why are we still talking about Tressel? Thomas was not real good at taking a hit anyway. Ive heard both him & Jackson were "track stars playing football"
I predict that Lamar Thomas will get chased down from behind in the National Title game by an Alabama DB in a couple years if Ohio State can make it there
......except hes transferring. they tried to do what they could with him and he didnt match any of the promise in 2 seasons. the buckeyes have a few younger/faster guys that could fill the role better than thomas.
James Jackson who was a freshman this past season runs a reported 4.3. Chris Fields also a 2009 recruit ran around 4.3. I guess thats not really much faster than Thomas (but who knows about any of these guys "unofficial" 40s) but I heard Lamaar didnt run too hard on the returns and/or was afraid of contact. If these guys are just as fast but take contact and run hard, then I have no problem them replacing Thomas.
@bigmikecotten--haha. This is a 4 star guy recruited by only teams that finish towards the top of the major conferences and he wants to go to New Mexico who finishes towards the bottom of D-I? Go figure. I could see maybe going if he could play for NM next season but isnt it a rule he has to sit out a year UNLESS he transfers to I-AA school? Im not a expert on transfer rules. But if im gonna sit a year and I have Lamaars ability, why not go for at least a decent team in a major conference?
I dont know. Maybe-just maybe-theres more to it than what meets the eye. But good luck to Bama. if the Buckeyes ever play them, they better not pull the same shit again against the SEC in a bowl. I finally it really ridiculous that OSU is always one of the most (if not the most) talented team in the Big 10 but yet they have the 2nd worst record against the SEC out of any Big 10 team. Thats right----even Indiana has a better record than us against the SEC :)
lol. yeah robiskie is finally gone. i dont know about fartline though. i got so pissed watching robiskie try to one hand that catch against Minnesota when he was wide open and pryor lofted it to him perfectly. it would have been a 90 yard td for pryor and i think they would have passed the ball alot more throughout the season. instead just another incompletion. who knows, robiskie would have probably got caught from behind anyways. i'm not sure 10 yards of seperation is enough for him.
He reminds me so much of ted ginn, ridiculous speed dangerous in the open field and don't forget, teddy played Some RB in high school, much like lamaar. Excited to see how this kid turns out as the season progresses
He'll be a RB/WR. Pryor at the helm next year, we'll be running a very wide open system. Think 05, 06 and then some. Alot of 3 and 4 WR sets from shotgun with Lamaar as the Half back. Almost like an option/run n gun.
Then you can immediately switch it up and go right back to 3 & 7 step drop: I form pro style with Saine and Herron in the backfield. These next few years are going to be insane for us as a team.
Ya I wrote that post in a second person form.lol The Bucks recently picked up a O-Line prospect rated 3 stars, by the name of Sam Longo I really like this kid, by the end of his senior he will be a beast.
Well now the Bucks will have some people to stretch the field at wr. Posey is pretty quick, Stoneburner has great size as well as speed, Small can stretch not to mention Hartline and Robiskie for one more year. In another year watch out. James Jackson, Chris Fields, and maybe more. The Bucks are going to have one of the fastest offenses in the nation period by the 09 season. Not to mention the running backs, and the great o-line Tressel is putting together. (pretty exciting for Buckeye fans).
wait who are you a fan of? cause im a buckeye fan and normally we only c 2 types of people: other buckeye fans and SEC bastards (no offesne if you are one prickdad)
got some wheels on him... I dont think he could handle being a big time RB, he's too small and he'd end up just like Mo Wells (unless we move to a zone read with Pryor, then he might succeed)
I hope to see him lined up as a slot WR next season.... we dont have anyone with the speed to stretch the field as a WR (outside of maybe Brandon Saine) and this guy just looks like he needs the ball in his hands in open space
lol look at Flash doin what he do best. I played against him when he went to Friendly High School in Maryland with the Haydens(Joe(Florida CB), Jordan, Josh). Either Way Crossland High still goin beat Friendly, but he going to the NFL for sure. Him and everybody else that went to Friendly. Damn Haydens, Flash, Nebraska, etc..
such a bust, much like james jackson too. jim tressell doesnt know how to use talent on the field

You're a dick, Robiskie is one of the best receivers coming into the draft and has plenty speed enough to go 90 yards with 10 yards of separation.

saine could be just as useful as thomas in a spread formation. he's probably faster
Daytonkid11 3 years ago
That might be the most upright running back I've ever seen. He runs like a split end. Hopefully he'll be good.
husat77 3 years ago
He's not going to play RB....he'll return kicks possibly and play some WR
GoOhioStateBuckeyes 3 years ago
probably doesn't matter what "he plays."
tressel takes 'athletes' and turns them into heisman winning QBs. he could probably turn the cross country team into the 2nd team if he had to.
