How it works: The painting is partially done beforehand with phosphorescent paint (or powder mixed with paint). With a strong torchlight it is exposed and will start glowing for a short period of time.
@srmarquinho Its a kind of paint that "remember" the light. Did you ever have some star that you put up on your ceiling and at the night they shine ? Well... its a little the same trick. :)

the effect would have been nicer if the audience had just kept quiet, enjoyed the moment and not make ridiculous sounds. Some things feel sweeter if kept from within, like delight and awe.
he used a 205 nm UV LED to draw on a screen coated with phosphorescent paint, probably europium doped strontium aluminate judging from how well the glow is maintained on this screen. notice how the boy, stars, mountain and other things he draws fades with time according to the phosphorescence half-life of the paint. cheaper ZnS paint only glows for seconds before fading.
It's called long term exposure, idea used in photography to produce the effect of trailing lights achieved by slow shutter speed, that's also why the actual people appeared to be "skipping" on screen cuz the camera is rolling at a lower frame rate. In his case the screen might act as the film used in camera, "captures" the light as he "draws"; or it is simply a backlit projector that really was just projecting whatever was being recorded on a digital camera that's being sat up behind the scree
Nooooooo.......... He's using a very inexpensive 405nm near-UV LED penlight on a (probably) strontium oxide aluminate paint-coated screen. I've been doing this using shorter-duration (and much cheaper) zinc sulfide paint for a while now (albeit not NEARLY so artistically! :-), though I normally use a (likewise-cheap) laser. It impresses the heck out of the neighborhood kids.
The wall or whatever he is 'painting' on is covered with like those glow in the dark type of liquid, i think. And using intense light from the torch light, gives out that effect. That's what i think and not base on anything. ==
When we r alone , God's angel is there to protect us , He sent His Son Jesus for us , He created the universe , and we should rest in His peace n He will be with us Always , and forever
Beautiful painting & music too, Japanese always full of innovative ideas.

I've seen and used the material that he used a few times, more out of goofing off with light. Never would have thought to use it as an art module.
