@tubeur000 Hamsanandhi is the Carnatic music name for the raaga named Sohni in the Hindustani system. The raagas are the same but played (styled) according to the system and the "gharana" etc.
then lord Brahma asked her to bless the universe with music and voice. so she played her Veena and the seven sur or the seven notes of music were originated which gave everything the music and sound.
According to hindu scriptures- when Lord Brahma created this universe he stepped down to have a look at his creation.everything was great and beautiful but there was something missing and it was the music and voice which he forgot to bestow everything was silent not even a single swirling leaf had any voice, then he saw 5 Banyan trees in front of him.he scattered drops of holy water from his kamandal(a vase to keep water).from that Goddess Saraswati originated....cont....
Many played the instrument but these days it is hard to find students preferring the instrument. Thanks to many innovations now that there are people stating to take the instrument seriously & I would also like to say this that there have been maestros & musical giants who have mastered this instrument. But if it were that the Goddess Saraswathi wanted to show who she is it was in the form of Shri. SB & Shri. Sambhu Iyer.... No words to describe either of these Mahavidwans......

The great thing about the Veena...is that the sound is as pure as it can get. No excessive vibration...just pure gutty twanginess. Each note is heard and felt.
Sitar on the otherhand due to the vibration strings, is not so pure imho....but is also a wonderful sound.
S. Balachander: No words can describe the depth of his talent or the breadth of his insight into the Veena.
AWESOME!!! GREAT. I have listened to SB when i was a small kid. My mom used to take me to his concert. It just rekindled the memories. WOW. Thanks so much for posting such a masterpiece.
I'm a fan of this greatest Artist. Only he has the ability to make veena to talk through his fingertips. This is just unexpressible, the one who involved into this is thrilled.
This is cool, I actually just found this record last night in a nearby record shop... I've been looking for his recordings, but what's funny is that there's this sort of eastern/avantgarde/surf/whatever band called Secret Chiefs 3 (members of mr. bungle if you've ever heard of them) but on their third album they have a song calld "Vajra" which is this song only with electric guitars etc.. you should check it out. thanks for posting!

Dear Summer,
Indian's (classical indian's not neos) are nothing but worshipper's of "bramha".
For some reason if you have realisation of Bramha then you feel like same with Indian's.
Many of the Indians are not Indians of course u understand for that very reason.
"Bramha" is a feeling of resonance with the eternal vibration of this universe. It can arise into a person of any caste creed nation religion.
