You would have expected an inventor would invest in a decent video capturing device. Even a todays cheap $200 video cameras take better video than this.
I'm sure this is a fake. I think its attached via the rollbar above the pilot to a crane, the movement seems to sway and pivot in a similar manner during lateral movement which would indicate it being swung on a crane arm. Also, there should be a hell of a lot more downward thrust - imagine how much down force you get on even a small helicopter. I'd love to see a better quality video though, even wires can be removed on a frame by frame basis - even back when this was supposedly shot.

There's something very similar (made by AVRO Canada, years earlier) in an aviation museum in Winnipeg. I don't think it's in flyable condition, though.
Moller have since produced a much prettier (but not much more practical) technology demonstrator. Perhaps the next model will be more useful...
its a good idea, but like others have said - you have to look at the long term. there is no point spending so much of fossil-fueled cars when the fuel will run out in the next century. You need renewable sources.

IMO Inventor Paul Moller needs to re-Do his Vid. hope you get there.
The M200x needs to clear 100 or more feet & show Full pilot control.
Use a big helicopter in place of the crane. show us that it FLYS.
Not just hover 12 feet off the ground. use a 400 foot long tether cable.

I heard an interview with this Moller guy on Coast To Coast AM. This is an AMAZING project!
You know he has been working all his life perfecting this consept.
It runs on alcohol and on a full tank it can hover for about 1 hour, or fly for about 5 hours, if I remember correctly.
They will be on the marked soon, he said!

There's something very similar (made by AVRO Canada, years earlier) in an aviation museum in Winnipeg. I don't think it's in flyable condition, though.
Moller have since produced a much prettier (but not much more practical) technology demonstrator. Perhaps the next model will be more useful...
