  • i have a question. i want to buy copie marker. Do i need a special paper for them?

  • Did you get your markers at micheals.. I seen some just like that on the website and was going to buy some ... Do they work well ????

  • I like your voice. Its like a younger Betty White

  • Good cuz I'm deathly afraid of messing up my "Raw Silk" and "Egg White" markers with darker shades, even mixing the two super light colors together. Thanks for this so that I know never to fear of this.

  • Why do you use that transparent thing (forgot what its named O:) instead of just drawing directly on the paper with the darker color, and then blend?

  • @Minsnuskeskat the markers are too far apart in color to do a direct to paper blend so picking up the dark color off the transparency helps in adding the color and blending it all in one step

  • @BCSherrie Thank you for the answer (:

  • Cute lessons, like the theme ;)

thanx,, ill remember it wheneve ill color with markers

  • cool

  • Cool video . I just got a set of markers for christmas and my art studio is filling up . I just need ART now so ill try to follow your suggestions and see how it goes :)

  • BTW- do you have to outline everything when using copics?

  • @DarkJazzyMetal I don't outline when using my copics, you should try to work smoothly from one end of an object to the other. You shouldn't outline then color it in as you will see your outline mark. I too have learned many things along the way as this particular video was from over 2 years ago. Thanks for visiting!

  • lol I love how you said "In one...in one swack"

  • What if I wanted to blend two colors that are from different color groups, like blue and green. How would I proceed? Would one of the colors be ruined?

  • @Myrrhmade If you are using two different color groups the best way to get them to blend is by feathering them together.

FYI, copic is one of the only markers where you can touch them tip to tips and not ruin the nibs of your marker. It is a proven technique and I teach it all the time. Only do this with COPICS not from a copic to a prisma or tria marker.

  • Have you tried the one sheet wonder paper from Couture Cardstock. Check out couture cardstock . com

  • @tsparasida

My new favorite is the X-press it blending card that is now carried by copic....it is a dream!

  • Did she make the mask or do they come with the sheep?

  • I made the mask by stamping the sheep on a post it note and then cutting it out.

  • @BCSherrie Oh nice!

  • what is the best type of paper to use copic markers on?

  • That really varies from person to person. I personally like either Prism "simply smooth" or Neenah "solar white" . I would try those and see which one you like, every colorer is unique!

  • copic paper.

  • @drogalisor you can try the artist marker pad by the bee paper company

  • Are you kidding? I will post a photo on my blog? I waited eight minutes for that?

  • Are these teh Copic Ciao markers?

  • yes they are

  • you didn't color all the sheep

  • well its just a tutorial.i think she just added a few sheep to show somthing for putting a stamp in the background.

  • No one has the markers i have, i dont have the brush at the tip i have like a fine liner type thing. All the tutorials use diffrent ones

  • thers only 4 kinds of copics

    original

    ciao

    sketch

    wide

  • sounds like prismacolor not copic

  • Definitely Copic ...I used the ciao marker

  • Surely picking up the darker colours on your lighter pens would ruin the light pens?

    Jem x

  • Not if they are both copics. They are made for rendering. Just make sure you clean the tips by brushing them on a scrap paper a few times.

  • My copic markers look defreint.

  • you may have the expensive ones with the fine tip?

  • THANSK you¡¡ its good your form to paint hehe

  • you guys should check out my anime drawings. They are good but nobody is perfect, everyone tries their best! :D

  • where can you get copic markers?

  • They sell them at Hobby Lobby.

  • hehehe......where's that? ^.^ '

  • Its an art store. They should have one around your area (if you live in the Us or Canada)

  • ok thanks. i'm still not to sure if they have any where i live, but thanks anyway :)

  • they sell them in the Davinci art supply store in 21st between 7th and 6th.... if you live in the city....=]!!

  • i'm soooooooooo sorry! i have no idea what city u mean!!!! uuggggggggggg!!!!!

*sigh* i'm not mad at you, i'm mad at me. anyway, i live in maple ridge, which is why i don't think that they have them here. caus we have nothing. no art stores that i know of,(so far)

thanks for your help anyway ^.^ '

  • just go to an art store near where you live...

  • whats the brand of ur copic markers?

it seems easier to colour..mine is thicker

  • In this video I am using the CIAO copic marker

  • erm..i need to blend 3 different colours in my drawing, my tree symbol drawings..i should start with the lighter colour or the darker one ?

  • Start with your lightest then your next darker then your darkest...when you are all done laying down your colors come back with your lightest marker to blend them together.

  • how much should i use each colour?

should i use the lightest colour the most?

  • Yes, use the lightest color the most...you can always go over it darker if you wish....it is much harder to "lighten" something.

  • ok ! thank you so much !!

  • wow you're doing it great ^^

just a question but are the markers getting dirty at all ? I mean if it's an brighter color ?

  • I have a few lighter colors that are SLIGHTLY "dirty"...like my blender pen, but it doesn't affect their performance or color. When I use this technique I make sure to color off the extra ink on a scratch piece of paper before putting my marker away.

  • thanks for the tips :) this was very helpful! i just got copic markers a few weeks ago and needed shading tips, even though i draw manga with them, but still. a very helpful video! thankyou so much!

  • you shouldnt take the ink from one to the other like that... tho it works, the tip gets dirty quicker....

  • I've been doing this with my markers for a year and a half now...it is a copic endorsed technique that I love...you gotta try it! This speaks to the wonderful quality of these particular markers.

  • no way really? awsome cool.

  • I think it's a very clever tecnique you used here. Very intellagent. :)

  • lol i though prismas wer pencils

  • you weren't wrong. they do have prismacolor pencils.

  • um

wouldn't it just be easier to just overlap to shade with the same marker? i kno that copics are rly good for shading after drying

using a lighter color overlap also makes good shade as well

why go through so much trouble? does the coloring come out better?

  • You can shade using the same marker, you just don't get as much contrast. This technique is used when using two different color markers.

  • My art teacher let me borrow a 12 set of grey shades to tighten up my final. Shading with markers was really strange to me but the outcome is just incredible

  • >raulrojo16

prismas bleed a LOT. people with copics said they don't bleed.

    ---

also, what's the diff between copic ORIGINAL and SKETCH?

just that sketch markers aren't refillable?

  • The difference between the original and sketch is that they come with different nibs and have different barrel shapes. They BOTH are refillable and have replaceable nibs....as yes, with the right ink and paper they do not bleed...very wonderful!

  • yea i was gonna buy em then realised how much they were so stole there from my art room at school

  • lucky, my school dosent even have them -_-"

  • are copics and prismas the same?? just wondering

  • They are the same in the fact that they are both alcohol based markers but they differ in the fact that the copics have replaceable nibs and are refillable. I have talked to numerous stampers that have used both and they say the copics are superior in the quality of the nibs and the ability to seamlessly blend color. Hope that helps!

  • ok thanks that did answer my question i was just making sure because i just bought a set of prismas but im still learning to blend colors with them but i have never used copics and i just wanted to know the difference. thanks for taking your time to answer my question it helped and i think your artwork is nice!!

  • yeh i wondered if copics where refiallable as they are so expensive, how much is the replacement ink?

  • Now this is a tutorial. I found this video really helpful. I am so glad it was not just you coloring sheep to music:)

  • how much are Copic Ciaos?

  • in japan they are bout 2.50$ but in america bout 4$ and in the uk i heard they can get to 6$

  • i live in the uk and they are £3 thats about 6$ soming like that

  • this is good

  • i am more interested with how u actualli make the stamps:)

  • at 2:09, wouldnt that technique ruin your lighter marker?

  • No, isn't that wonderful! Copic fully endorses using this technique and I use it all the time and my markers are still perfect.

  • WOW! thats so cool!

  • very helpful. thanks for the tut =)

  • very interesting~

  • why is copic sooo different? how is it better than anything else? what is better than it or close to.

  • can we mix yoken and copic together??

  • omg *o*

this tut is wonder wonder wonderful *o*

thank you so much for uploading!

    are there coming more?

  • would the transparancy technique work with prismacolor markers?

  • Thanks for showing us your technique. I really enjoyed that. But would it be possible to move in closer with the camera? It's a little hard to see...

  • why dont you use just the darker marker... why do you pic the colour up with the other one..?

  • because its blends the color better and doesnt make it as dark as it would be with the seperate marker.

  • because by touching the tip of the darker marker you get some of that color and it blends with the lighter color, otherwise you see a bold line where you want to have a gradual color change.
