Obi-Wan as much as said in "A New Hope" that he fought for the Republic in the Clone Wars, so why wouldn't Jedi of the Old Republic do so as well? And why NOT wear full body armor? Nowhere in the movies (prequels or originals) was armor explicitly forbidden. You do not pay attention, do you?

Anyhoo, Jedi are originally based off of samurai and knights, two groups most known for wearing armor in the real world, so Jedi wearing armor is not a stretch. Also, the armor is not similar to the armor worn by the soldiers so there's no danger of it being a Republic uniform.
Also, Obi-Wan totally cut off a guys arm in a bar fight in "A New Hope". Very peaceful solution that.

This trailer made the SW one suck ass in comparison! Actually everything about the Jedi Knight(Lighsaber stance, armor, proportions, overall descriptions of both of their advanced classes, etc) was really well done, and was much better than anything that has been released about the Sith Warrior. Personally, I can't wait to see the Sith Inquisitor update. Sith Inquisitor ftw!
and that aside, i'm hoping ranged classes wont end up worse that jedi/sith as in original KOTOR... I'm split between republic trooper (kick the door, send a grenade and go in guns blazing!) and the sith agent (he gets portable cover, sniper rifle and friggin orbital strike!)
Still, the lightsaber maniacs should do fine, with all the flashy strikes. But will the BioWare find the balance in the Force?

@BiowareNut Yea, it's just an improvement on what kotor did. That's pretty much what they are going for. I'm not too happy about it, but it is looking better. My beef is with the lightsaber effects. The smear of the lightsaber when they swing isn't there. It just looks like a solid glow stick. I'm sure they are going to touch that up. Still a nice update.

@MML2BeachedWhale Well that's not the kind of smear that lightsabers make in every other depiction of movement. That looks like a cheap color vapor. The smear should not be translucent. It just makes it look weak. I mean come one even Kotor, another BW game, had the real lightsaber smear that we are all used to seeing.
@BiowareNut I think Macsimus is right: expect the design to look similar to KoTOR. That was one of BioWare's gems.
I think everything is coming along. I see improvement in every video. Look at the friggin animation when this Jedi Knight runs toward the enemy, deflecting blaster bolts as she runs. That stuff looks gorgeous. I expect more improvements as it gets closer to launch.
I wouldn't worry too much about the lightsabers, Macsimus. KoTOR proved BioWare knows what SW sabers look like.

and that aside, i'm hoping ranged classes wont end up worse that jedi/sith as in original KOTOR... I'm split between republic trooper (kick the door, send a grenade and go in guns blazing!) and the sith agent (he gets portable cover, sniper rifle and friggin orbital strike!)
Still, the lightsaber maniacs should do fine, with all the flashy strikes. But will the BioWare find the balance in the Force?

@asdasvedas they've made them mostly equal, just in this video they have gone in favour of the jedi knight to promote it. Check out the sith warrior trailer...its the same for them

@asdasvedas Because Sith are Lame. J/k but seriously, what do you mean? I see nothing that depicts the Sith as being lame or weak. The Sith Warrior Trailer showed them off pretty well. Though I'll admit this trailer was 10 times better, but I'm biased as I hate dirty sith.

@asdasvedas Its a class video. The class the video is depicting will always look mighty in its own class video.
For a long time people thought the sith were "overpowered" because of the decieved trailer and the focus on sith classes. Class videos are showcases, nothing more.

@BiowareNut Yea, it's just an improvement on what kotor did. That's pretty much what they are going for. I'm not too happy about it, but it is looking better. My beef is with the lightsaber effects. The smear of the lightsaber when they swing isn't there. It just looks like a solid glow stick. I'm sure they are going to touch that up. Still a nice update.

@Macsimus007 the smear is there, its just not like raven's jedi knight where the lightsaber was a complete blur of light when swung, though i gotta admit that looks cooler

@MML2BeachedWhale Well that's not the kind of smear that lightsabers make in every other depiction of movement. That looks like a cheap color vapor. The smear should not be translucent. It just makes it look weak. I mean come one even Kotor, another BW game, had the real lightsaber smear that we are all used to seeing.

@BiowareNut I think Macsimus is right: expect the design to look similar to KoTOR. That was one of BioWare's gems.
I think everything is coming along. I see improvement in every video. Look at the friggin animation when this Jedi Knight runs toward the enemy, deflecting blaster bolts as she runs. That stuff looks gorgeous. I expect more improvements as it gets closer to launch.
I wouldn't worry too much about the lightsabers, Macsimus. KoTOR proved BioWare knows what SW sabers look like.
