@sjuanu Hi, they never released this officially, so you should try sites like Ebay, or Iofferdotcom which is a pretty good buy and sell website without the auction hassle.
Hi, sorry for the late reply. I don't have this film right now, I got this song off one of Robby's single records. I recently saw it aired on TCM, but I didn't recognize anything by Santana.
I have been looking for this song since like 1979! Thank you so much for sharing such great memories of growing up in the projects in El Paso, TX..... Life was hard..... Adios - Yesterday!
Your welcome! :) I wish I could make a clearer copy of this song but I would first have to get the dvd, they never released it commercially. I know it took a lot of heat during the time it came out...I think one thing people forget about the film is that even though RB is playing a Chicano, he finds out he's of mixed white and Mexican in the movie. it's entirely plausible he can 'look like' that, lol. Plus, you adapt to the lifestyle in which your raised and he was just hanging with that crowd.
@RobbyBensonScrapbook Robby Benson (Born Robert Benson Segal) was raised Jewish, but has played a variety of roles in the movies. Besides being a Chicano/White in "Run Proud", he played a Southern Boy in "Ode to Billy Joe" and Sioux Indian Billy Mills, who won a gold medal in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics in "Running Brave".
I actually recorded this off a record player! So, it's no the best quality. If I had it on DVD I would have made it into an Mp3. Ebay sells the small 45s that's where I got mine.
I bought a Robby Benson scrapbook off of eBay. It isn't in very good condition and the worst part is it is missing a page. I didn't know that when I bought it. I do still have some of my Tiger Beat magazines from the 70s with photos of Robby. That was when I was most gaga for him.
That may be the same one I have, I put pretty much all those pics inside on my site too. Cool, I'm always looking for the old magazine articles and things. I received alot from others for the site too.
I'm glad you did that. Now I know you like John Eric Hexum too. I have some photos of him that I took a couple days before he died. I saw him at the Battle of the Daytime Stars. I snuck into the craft services tent and got photos. Would you like them for your site?
OMG!! I LOVE Jon-Erik Hexum!! (lol, obviously) You are awesome! Please send them to me!!! That would be perfect for the Jon page. HAHA..Snuck in...that's terrific!
Well, I have a HUGE collection of Pictures for the site, on discs. I haven't bought too many 'things' just a few singles like this, rock and roll song, the original Robby Benson Scrapbook book...I have him on VHS hosting a small vid about Disney's Pinnochio. That's pretty rare, and I have to get that on DVD so I can make pictures and post it one day soon.
I remembered seeing the movie back in late November and early December 1980 when it was being shown on Showtime.
