You guys are crazy. We have used that same vacuum everyday for 2 years in a pet home with NO PROBLEMS. As a mater of fact the wooden brush roller you call cheap is way better than alot of the plastic junk put out these days. The Hoover and Bissell models are complete Junk. And as for Dyson, has to be the worst piece of plastic $500.00 can buy. Are local vacuum repair shop loves to show how many Dysons he gets on trade in.

I have a 2003 Eureka WindTunnel and it sounds very similar to that. I think it has gotten louder over the years. I also have a 2007 Eureka Altima with that wooden brushroll and it is a total pice of crap. Trying to go for a Dyson when it finally gives.

test for suction and see if there is any it could be blocked causing it to run like that.

It has suction.  In fact, it has good suction. I don't think there's any blockages. I just wish I could get it apart so I could find out what's wrong with it :P

@general0ne yes it will... the extention wand on the back (if it's there) has to different sized ends (one for the turbo brush one for a diff vac)

I don't think it has the extension wand, but I'll have to check and see... if anything it'll work on my shop vac so I can use it to clean out the truck. at least it won't be a total loss then.
