  • K-BAR IS NICE BUT THE KURKHI IS NICER:)

  • it would be great if nutnfancy made more survival skills vids

  • Awesome vid. Glad you don't kill trees and animals just to do it. Only for emergency purposes. That's an important part of survival.

  • Good video, but if I may recommed an improvement. I would edit the video in between steps in order to speed up the class. After 4-5 minutes internet uses start looking at other short videos. Try showing the video in steps. Over all good work.

  • Awesome video!!! Glad you really emphasize not using this unless you have too, and not killing animals unless you have too. I love to hunt, but only for food, not a trophy wall. In the video on your release stick, you actually tied a thieves knot. They are both very close only difference is weather or not you go over or under with the lead strand. Just passing on the knowledge so you know. But great work and please keep up your videos, they are very useful.

  • about 10 years ago my father put a branch from an aspan tree in the ground next to his house, and the branch turned tree and is about full grown.

  • @MrWoodywoodward27 he probally cloned it .. theres a paste in which you can do that seen it done on marijuana plants

  • this makes me just wanna go camping :3

  • nutnfancy, in case it is helpful... for a square (reef) knot you should make sure you tuck each of the rope's "working" ends over the other from the same side of the knot, instead of the opposite side. Otherwise, you have a granny knot as made in this video. Unfortunately, the granny knot is considered inferior to the square knot. If it works for the snare, there you go, but a slight change in tucks and you'll have a stronger knot. :-) wikipedia(dot)org/wiki/Granny_knot

  • oh my gosh that is a beautiful forest...

  • Survival videos. Yeah. I like surviving

  • lol thats a clove hitch

  • @irish420Hitman lol, no it's not. It's a granny knot

  • your right, I didn't watch him pull it tight, all the binding knots are just variations of each other anyways, there is about 30 of them where 1 thing is different in tying it :P

  • i really liked that you used the charge in this vid

    Thanks Nutn

  • This was freaking sweet.- 6:28-

  • I definatley agree the Kabar is a great knife the Extra 20 over the Ontario is well worth it that extra money is all in the sheath and the handle the blades are basically the same, Same steel very similar cuts and geometry the handle with the steel pommel and the kydex sheath is fantastic I even prefer the kabar leather sheath over the nylon ontario version, Oh and thank the Knot NAZI'S for eagle eyeing something that doesnt matter, and for defending the square knots honor

  • if u did catch something with that trap wat would the most humain way be of killing it in ur opinion???

  • For someone building a trap meant to kill and animal he sure is concerned about any harm to the trees. LOL

Great instructional video though. Thanks for posting.

  • @LBNANY ::Shrugs:: no point in doing any more damage than you absolutely have to.

  • i think they good people they like what they do so its cool i will all ways watch them

  • all thees critics and bad mouthers and not one of them is willing to put out anything help.Must be nice knowing that you know every thing there is to know in life. If you dont liek it dont watch it, no one forced you hand on the mouce and clicked play.

  • test it on a beiber!!!!!!!!!

  • What's a good survival/campiing knife?I'm knew to this kind of stuff.

  • @GraysonKeever It's depend on what you want to do and where you want to do it. Go check Nutnfancy philosophy video about big blades

  • the kabar heavy bowie is heavy wow i didnt know that

  • i dont get y ppl watch nfp just to bitch , buddys been putting out free videos for us to watch for like 3 years now ... u think by now ppl would ether like the videos or stop watching them . im sure he dosent cry at night cuz of ur comment , probly laughs that ppl that say they hate him so much r giveing him views ever time they drop by . fuckin armchair warriors , probly would have a heart attack it they every did any real training

  • @nutnfancy where did u buy that kabar knife? Im itching to get one

  • Thanks for linking this video from your newest video, I missed some of the earliest ones. I have been a fan for years. Thanks for getting me off my couch, and back into the woods. Girls love the smell of a campfire on a guy!

  • Haha Nutn is chubby in this video lol

  • lol, "realzies." I'm gonna use that!

  • Bear!!!

  • U sound like Tom Delonge :)

  • Square knot?? You tied a granny knot.

  • @SandHill711 I think it is a square knot. Right over left twice, but nutnfancy turns the stick around in between.

  • @jdboettg you have to alternate to make a square knot. The other way is a "granny knot" and only sometimes jams and holds, usually not where you wanted it. Most of the time in my experience it will just loosed rapidly under strain.

  • Maybe, i don't know, but Mr. Nutnfancy, you may want to check out the Gerber Multi-Plier 400 tool. My aunt, Air-Force retired, sent my Papa one as a gift. Great knife. Why i am suggesting this is because it don't need to be un-folded. It has sliders, you push buttons on the side, and the pliers pop out. The pilots use it as part of their survival gear. He lost it at work, and bought a new one. Then, someone found it and returned it, and now i have it. Great tool, never jams, always works.

  • Factoid: most land animals are safe to eat. After skinning and cooking, all of them are. Almost no wild plants are edible and a lot of them are poisonous.

  • Cut a notch , Not a toggle . I prefer smith and wesson knives

  • I can't heeeeaarr you.

  • @AnimalRightsUnited if you're an animal rights queer, don't look up videos about killing animals... thats how you know someone's stupid...

  • Thats a freaking granny Knot...Id tie a clove hitch...Just sayin dog...

  • Heh, for realzies! Your videos rock.

  • awesome video

  • Do you get payed by "Leatherman Charge" or The makers of K-BAR by any chance?

  • @AvoinTarina He doesn't get paid by any gear manufacturer. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • @AvoinTarina *KA-BAR

  • @AvoinTarina do you mean leatherman???

  • man i realy love your vids you inspired me to make my own survival video season you check them out on my channel also your dog is so pretty whats its name?

  • Its actually a granny knot. If youve tied knots before the granny knot is a common result when a square knot is tied incorrectly. He should have used a clove hitch but like he said he isn't a knot expert. As for the water comment, yes water is all around you, however clean water is not usually readily accesible. A solar still or plastic bag around some branches would indeed work, but in a true survival situation a plastic bag is a commodity that one might not have on their person.

  • Ok well in a survival situation your wrong about the no water, as a survivalist/ bushman you have water all around you, you can put a solarstill in the ground or collect water from the branches by wrapping a bag around it. And there's puddles or vines there's water all around you,

  • I got lost in the process.....

  • Where in the US is it legal to trap deer? Why dont you just get a gun , leave the dog at home and shoot the freakin deer, bullet may pass thru the animal and hit a tree sure, so what.

  • @ulcohatchee1959 It is not legal, this guy is a poacher!

  • @angelseatupward Hey, that's not my problem. You can do the work of deleting all your own comments..clean up your own mess. -- Veri

  • Sorry, my mate was sitting at my desk posting the last post. He's on leave back from....well he would tell me and I could tell you but then he would have to kill me and you as it is beyond Top-Secret, although you can contact NAVSECSOG Coronado and request the entirely redacted documents.

He gets a real laugh out of 99% of these videos so please forgive his less than enthusiastic post.

  • @actonbath to be honest, you could be telling the truth about him having to kill u, but since your on youtube no one would believe you. its the internet, here everyones a marine sgt, or a special forces commando.

  • @joshkkv i am special force commando in fact a navy seal general :P

  • Don't cut that live limb ! Oh that tree, you hurt it. You people are so brainwashed lilly livered pansies. Yeah that terrain is really steep! all 0-25 degrees of it my driveway is 15 degrees steeper, too funny.

K-Bar is a light knife for emergency only type blade? Goober probably has 45 knives at home, 33 fire steels and has never had animal blood or cooked meat killed by himself. A real man would just climb the tree with a sharp stick in hand and jump that damn rabbit or deer when passing.

  • beautiful land scape and vegitation i would kill just to stand and smell the air there

  • its a virgin lol funny stuff :)

  • Ali the mountain dog would be the best survivalist of all ya folks try to asume yall try even thing survival lol

love your vids nutn and ali and the woods and all peeps who join into this treu education of natural habbitat to join up with.

  • watch this "BE LIKE BEAR GRYLLS" ziodex2@ :)

  • @ziodex2

Les Stroud is da man. Grylls is poser with backup team and situations that are "presented" to him.

  • I have a leatherman kick, how good is that tool

  • @hunterman966 Leatherman Kick is a very good tool. I personally prefer the "original" PST, but they don't make them any more. The PST is much lighter and does everything I ever needed. I got my two most recent ones on Ebay. I keep losing the.

  • @1960markN I used it today setting my snares, cuts wire nicley

  • Great job on video, interesting, and a clear picture with nice scenery. I 'd have to agree a bit with "angelseatupward" on too much talk and effort. I've made a similar snare to this before, only I pre-sawed and beveled the nail heads at home first. My only tools were a Machete, three nails (and a hammer), a key ring, 2 1/2' of nylon trip line and a section of 500 lb nylon tested rope. This was used on boar in Hawai'i, but the most accurate snare (hands down) is called a Treadle Spring Snare.

  • 12:20 that aint no square knot.. -.-

  • @euteamominhaboneca ye it was it was just rolled over to the side

  • @euteamominhaboneca Yeah, It actually was.

  • @euteamominhaboneca no it is not but it is a clover hitch

  • @euteamominhaboneca if it aint no square knot then wait wouldnt that be a knot?unbeleivable go back to grade school!

  • @euteamominhaboneca yup..it is not!

  • what was that sound at 9:33-9:34? a gun?

  • @Spadez9559 that would be the knife clicking open or him cutting the wood.

  • @Spadez9559 no the boom in the background. after the knife opens...

  • The terrain is too steep? It doesnt look all that steep from where youre standing

  • JUMPING DOGGIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I am not sure but I dont think that is legal in my state of Indiana (but I would do it in a pinch if I was hungry)

  • That really is a beautiful place. In Montana in the mountains it's mainly just pine tree after pine tree. I love broad leaf trees. You can't climb a pine tree, the're all full of pitch and needles. Very enjoyable and educational video thanks.

  • Love the Knife, I am hoping to get a Marine K Bar for Christmas.

  • I have survival mode with my mom in the shop or 'bigger mall' :)

  • @nutnfancy lol, i love daft punk :)

  • @nutnfancy first off let me thank you for the video, ive been wanting to learn basic traps for a while now and ive just found them on youtube.......secondly i think angel might have actually been paying you a compliment in his comment by the way he says "people like you give him an excellent chance of survival" like your teaching him to be a better survivalist......

  • Comment removed

  • @nutnfancy what did this jerk say that has made everybody craze my i ask

  • @nutnfancy And peopole like you who use your brothers accounts to post comments on his video's , are idiots . Youre not even the person setting the trap so why would it give you a headache . . . . . Foolish woman

  • @angelseatupward THEN POST A VIDEO OF IT! jeez. @ss#oles like you that troll around youtube smack talking on every little thing are pathetic. awww man, i didnt like skyline. i want my money back. or aww man, rap is retarded. kanye is retard this guy is retarded. 26 years old and still acting like a child.

  • @angelseatupward fuck you. it's his video. not yours, so stfu. nutn kicks ass......

  • @angelseatupward

I was going to go to your page and find something embarassing that you favorited or some crappy video you made, but this comment summed you up so well I'm at a loss for words.

"I saw it. I want my money back lol. Did anyone else think when they got shoved in those big alien hands it kind of looked like toothpicks shoving a gummy bear up someone's asshole? I did lol..."

  • @angelseatupward it took 30min cause hes showing people what he is doing.

  • @angelseatupward arrogant asshole, not one vid upped and talking like a king

  • Comment removed

  • @angelseatupward - You're telling people to mind their own business, and that they should keep opinions to themselves.... yet look at you. What do you think you're doing? Speaking your opinion, and getting into others business'. Overuse of cuss words shows weakness in ones grasp of grammar. So instead of 'trolling' and calling his videos stupid, how about you get an education, and then come back and try again. You didn't make your very first trap perfect, so don't criticize others for trying.

  • @angelseatupward And this comment got you blocked. You can dish it out, but you cannot take it. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • A clove hitch with a half hitch would work great on the trigger dowel .It tightens up as tension is applied. Thanks for the demonstration .great info.

  • ew, you shoved your knife in a tree's ass

  • peace

  • in response to the question is a square knot two granny knots. no they are not a square knot is made from two half hitches where one is reversed from the othere. the simple rule that every sailor taught in boot camp to tie there neckerchief is right over left and left over right .

  • This is what real men need to know, GOOD survival tip unlike the Ehow videos. LOL

  • Ahhhh-my first nutnfancy vid that drew me into the TNP!! Its cool to re-watch some of these older vids... Lovin TNP!! God Bless you Veri!

  • @Jeenyus1983 ME TOO! Ive watched over and over, lol cant get enough TNP

  • beautiful dog.

  • well its time to learn your knots .. what you called a square knot was actually a granny knot. remember a square knot you tie it right over left then left over right. or go ask any sailor who is a boatswains mate and he will show you.

  • @RichardOhKaNoi so in essence a square knot is two granny knots? also he said he wasn't a knot expert.

  • Allie looks a lot like my dog. Gotta have a tactical black dog for the woods. Not to be a smart ass but you definitely tied a granny knot, and not a square knot there to the trigger (12:14) Thanks for the vids

  • Allie looks a lot like my dog. Gotta have a tactical blacks dog for the woods. Not to be a smart ass but you definitely tied a granny knot, and not a square knot there to the trigger (12:14) Thanks for the vids

  • Would you recommend a 1/2 serrated or a straight edged Ka-Bar for an emergency knife?

  • freakin sweet

  • actually you would be using up more energy saeing then you would chopping

  • @somethingxbox13 You are wrong.

  • best thing to do is just head to Mickey-D's. leave the wildlife alone

  • @MrHarry46 Ohh yea, cause when your plane crashes in the middle of nowhere, theres always a MCdees nearby.

  • subbing now, I need to get out in the forrest more, it's right outside my door for crying out loud! :D

  • (facepalm)

  • Dude, do not worry about that sapling, I'm a woodsman, and for the health of the wood that one would be thinned out to allow the others to grow and prevent overcrowding, deer usually do this job by eating the saplings but they don't get them all, in fact by pruning the branches you are promoting growth at the top anyway, the only way to hurt a tree is if you cut a ring all round the trunk through the sap wood, that'll kill it.

  • l m sure living in the usa ; utah?? is great,if I did that in my county,I`d have to pay a huge fine

  • I enjoy your videos, keep up the good work

  • Nutn, could you show how to smoke or otherwise preserve deer or any large game caught in a similar snare? I guess you might eat it all.

  • I want to say I wasnt really a fan of your videos for a long time. I dont really know why I just didnt like you. I hope you dont take this the wrong way, because I have definently came to appreciate you and your personality as of late! I want to say thank you for your well rounded videos and non-biased opinions. I am happy to call myself a fan of nutnfancy now :)

  • instead of a slip knot learn how to tie a clove hitch

  • i bet ure dog's name is fancy

  • "I can't emphasize enough how important it is to minimize your damage and impact in the natural world." EXCELLENT advice. Keep up the great videos. Thanks.

  • hey i was just wondering because i noticed in a few vids that you have tape over part of your leatherman charge, is your name engraved on it or something or does it serve another purpose?

  • I've always wondered where you park your vehicle and aren't you afraid of someone stealing it while you're away trekking through the wilderness?

  • Wow nutn I just stopped in to watch some of your older vids that I havent seen in a while and just realized how much weight you've lost. NICE. Been a TNP fan for a long time and love your table tops. You are appreciated!!

  • Really, the best wooden springs are made from "dead trees". We call them Bows. Green wood "live trees" take a set after a freeze or just being bent a couple of days. Dead trees "dried wood" does not take anywhere near as much set.

  • just watch out for ticks! Ticks will stay around game trails to jump on the animals when they walk through. Never Never put your "camp" on a game trail or even close to it! Not good taking a dog on a game trail either.

  • Reminds me of my black female labrador they almost look the same.

  • i love ur dog labs are awesome !

  • "..cut a few limbs off"...brainwashed moron tree huggers. Tree MURDERER !!!

    BTW..trees grow like weeds.

    BTW 1800's .5 million deer-2009 DF/G est 25 million.

  • hey veri you should state your name as verifancy haaha

  • @nutnfancy pony tail?! your a guy right?

  • @apard7 I'm Nutn's sister. -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy oh, that explains it :D

  • @apard7 I can't even picture Nutn in a ponytail..lol -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy tell him to make a vid woth you in it D:

  • @apard7 I couldn't keep up with those guys...no way! I can't even imagine staying out in the desert all day. Or climbing a mountain all day..lol He'd have to take a shovel, cause he would have to bury me there. :D -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy make one in ur backyard with him...like a knife test or you handling a gun?

  • @apard7 I actually like that idea. -- Veri
