  • Thank you so much for demonstrating the exercises. I'm taking the test this friday and your demonstrations are really helpful to me in terms of seeing the exercises in motion.

Your movements are slow and fluid and I like how you take the time to get nice and solid before you complete a specific movement ie stepup balance to overhead press.

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this.

  • @Puck72003 Thank you for watching. Please know these exercises were taken from the NASM OPT manual and they are not mine, nor is that me in the videos... I just thought they'd be helpful so I posted them. The NASM is a great organization.

Thanks again and I hope did well on your exam!

  • Woooow that Barbel Clean sucks big time!! I dont understand, that when you let someone perform such à complexe movement, you dont ask an experienced lifter! The guy in the video cleans like a newbee!!!

  • Yeah, kinda cheesy but I've seen a lot worse

  • @raharris1 Oh trust me, I've seen a lot worse. And BTW, not to be too much of a stickler but it's only because I'm a competitive Olympic lifter and train and coach athletes, but that's not a push press in the video. It's a split jerk. I'm in Camarillo just down the conejo grade. Come down to my Olympic lifting center for some lessons if you like.

  • Please, don't do barbell cleans like the video is showing. I'm sorry but i have to speak up on this and this isn't a good example of maximizing power, strength, speed, flexibility as the clean when done correctly is suppose to do. If you're going to teach something teach it correctly or don't do it at all.

  • @captainjosue

Your obviously not a good trainer or know what you are talking about. NASM goes threw 5 phases stabilization, strength endurance, hypertrophy, maximal strength, & power..this is a power exercise and to get to this level you have to go threw each phase. especially stabilization , you have to have a good strong core to be able to perform this exercise correctly, you cant just take some deconditioned person an expect them to know how to do this. NASM is one of the best certifications.

  • @killerz00091 Great discussion. In a weird way I agree with both of you on this. I say this because it really depends on the person and the task. If you're training Oly style lifters then I can see your beef with this example and I would consider it a basic technical model. But if your training another type of athlete then this example is fine. I think the level of refinment of specific mvmt patterns should be dictated again by the person and the desired task.
