To think I watched a video of you a few years back and thought you were boring. But I either caught you on an off day or was far too immature to pay attention properly. Never change. The fault was with me.
Love this. Was just visiting London last month (from the U.S.) and saw some of these places. I love wandering the streets looking at the buildings & parks :)
This is such a good project, and especially in and around Westminster, theres so many lesser-known places to stumble on, though in sure thats true of lots of London.
Such a brilliant idea! I think I might try this soon, I've been wanting to make more use of my camera and go on a mini urban exploration but when you live so close to central London it's difficult to look at it through the eyes of a tourist and actually SEE London.
Thanks for letting me tag along, girl! Still impressed that I pulled that super straight line at the end and it got us almost perfectly to our destination. Friggin fate. PS: seeing this in accidental time-lapse is hilarious.
Such a fun idea! Sounds like a great way to visit new places, or take a closer look at places you pass by on the daily basis. Thanks for sharing, Rosi!
This looks like lots of fun! I'm basically just stuck at home in my small town all day so it's nice when I get to see you our and exploring when you're near such gorgeous sights!
What a great idea for exploring! I know when I try and go somewhere different I tend to stick at some nice place and not move on, but following the line allows for a sort of quest mindset - to the end of the line! (Squiggled or otherwise.)
Love St James park. When my friends and I were littler we would go after school and all sit amongst the branches of our favourite tree and read our gcse texts to each other. Tourists used to take photos of the little uniformed girls, reading in the tree.
Great idea to explore a city! In the last town I lived we took the tram just for fun and we saw so many interesting places you would never see as a normal tourist.
@prendrefeu This comment seemed so cute until it got a bit creepy towards the end! But yeah they're everywhere and most of them are tame, in a squirrelly way.
Inexplicably, this is the third time I've watched this video today. Not sure if it's the brilliance of the idea (which I will promptly be stealing for my city, Vancouver), the DPC, or just the general awesomeness.
Rosianna's video, Y U NO HAVE WAY MORE VIEWS. Soon, I'm sure :)
I'm at once excited to do this and afraid. Excited because I love the idea of following where the map is leading you, yet you're choosing the map (if that makes sense). Afraid because I don't live in London, and some places I genuinely cannot safely go into. :/ conflicted.
@ellabooray They also, according to Lex on a piece of footage I had to cut out, "ninja". I give you this example, "ROSI THAT SQUIRREL JUST NINJAED THAT OTHER SQUIRREL IN MID-AIR".
That's a lovely idea Rosi, hope you do it often and keep providing us with footage of your discoveries. Meanwhile any party that I can imagine could only be improved by inviting you and your awesome friends.
This video made me incredibly nostalgic of my time in London. I miss it so much! And to see so many familiar places in your video! I can't wait to go back and do something similar with friends xx
This is such an interesting idea, I love it! Would you mind if I borrowed it for a photography project at uni? I was having trouble thinking up ideas until now!
I always love your videos. They're thoughtful and fun and so well done. And this in particular is super adventurous and makes me want to go exploring. :)
This is probably one of my favorite of your videos. I love the idea you began with and getting a glimpse into a day with you and your friends is always lovely, but I especially enjoyed the montage you segued into at the end. I thought the music was perfectly chosen and you did an excellent job of incorporating it with what came before and what came after -- and the end was classic YouTube video style, haha. I'm glad that you enjoy making videos, because yours are excellent.
Having just moved away from London, I've really started to appreciate how special it is. Not that where I am now isn't beautiful too, but I think I kinda fell into the mindset Lex described around 0:30
And yeah, the science museum building is f*ing epic.
seriously brilliant idea! I wish I was adventurous enough to do this. And I feel that London is the perfect city to do this in, I'd love to do this the next time I'm there. your beautiful footage made me miss London so much.
oh and for Lex, those are Canadian geese and they're kind of annoying as hell here.
btw, Rosianna your maxi skirt is gorgeous, you really do have wonderful style.
This was really cool. I'll have to try it with my own city, particularly since I just moved here. What do you do when the roads and the line don't match up? Do you place it at random or try to make it fit to the roads?
@eleanorashby Well we had to go towards East London because we were meeting friends at Nandos there but my ruling was that if the road doesn't match up and the squiggle veers to the right, you just take the next right. But it's true, the existing mapping does provide an interesting/frustrating obstacle in this quest!
This is a brilliant idea!
