She put up with crap for the last 8 years hoping he would change back to how he used to be & now she is dating and has met some lovely men she worries so much of hurting them that she's almost afraid to date them again incase it doesn't work out but this time she needs to be sure and how do you find that out if you don't get to know them real well. Her Ex moved out and within 3 weeks was shacked up with someone. Goodluck to you.

@Elle6887 I feel for both you and your daughter,Elle.Although my marital drama was 12 years in the past it definately was a life changing event for me,my family,and my kids.Your daughter is doing the right thing but it is kind of weird at first...all these conflicting thoughts and emotions.I can really identify with the whole "not wanting to hurt anyone" mindset.Just don`t let her go overboard like I did and begin to sabotage potential relationships.You two will come out the other side ok!

@BigHosMan Thankyou. My daughter is in her latter 30's and now afraid to date Men her age after the immaturity of her husband & being with him since she was 19. She is meeting Guys around 50 & a little older now...not sure how her Dad feels with some not all that much older than him. I just hope she doesn't rush into anything and make the wrong decision.

Sounds fancy but it is me scratching my youtube head and just wishing you all the best. Try not to allow her to hold on to the anger (longer than normal/healthy) and not to keep all those very natural feelings of hatred,malignant wishes,and bitterness a part of her life; thoughts and personality. Ouch. Man, I feel you; I've been there myself. You became her best friend and that's why she can never love you the way you want her to. For women, it's not worth gaining a lover if it means risking a friendship. You fell into the "friend zone" and trust me, no man wants that. The only thing that MIGHT work is if you ignore her completely and start seeing other women; trying to convince her that you're right for her will only drive her further away. Let her go; there are lots of other women.

@imnotok45 - Let me guess... women think you're great, but they're not attracted to you, right? They say things like "he's so nice and sweet" but they don't want to go home with you at the end of the night. The "friend zone" is a place where no guy wants to be with a girl he wants to date. What you need to do is learn new ways of behaving that will spark the feeling of attraction in the women that you want to be with. It's actually a fairly simple fix, but it does take time to learn...

@rededdster - no such thing, my friend. Sorry to be so blunt, but perfection is an ideal that doesn't exist in the real world. What's going on is you're idealizing her; you're assigning "perfect" qualities to her when in reality she does have her flaws, just like anyone else. Trust me, even if she IS perfect there are plenty of other women out there who are just as good as she is. I don't mean to be rude, just honest - I wish someone had told me this stuff when I was younger.
