firstly just to clear a point, ka'aba is placed in whats called the holy mosque, and was built by Abraham. the holy mosque is open through out the year not only for Hajj, which is along with Ramadan the biggest 2 seasons. around 3 million gather for hajj every year. Nothing happens if u do without goin to Hajj, it's a must once in a lifetime for every capable muslim, physically and financially. u must keep the tendance of doin it in ur heart, nd if u die before that nothing on you.

It's hard to see the faces of the crowd but each black speck is a woman :-) . The men are all dressed in plain white cloth so that everyone appears equal and the same in the eyes of God. Essentially, no difference between a prince and a pauper.
