    michael

  • Thank you Michael.

  • Swans are so photogenic

  • Thanks Richard..

  • Dancing swans - FOR THE WIN!! :D

And the songbirds were dazzling. :-)

You know, in college, I often stole bread from the cafeteria, and took it to the lake to feed the swans there.

But sometimes, they would suddenly attack me for no reason, scaring the begeebus out of me.

Thanks to them, I became an accomplished sprinter. ;-)

I'm sure they had learned those commando tactics to deal with the hoards of smart-@ss college kids they had to deal with over the years. :D

    Thanks, Phil. 5*s

  • LOL Nom. If you sit down in front of them, they wont hurt you, they may hiss a bit and peck at you, but show no fear. They like to be Taller than you, thats why they Stretch that long neck upwards. At least thats what I think and do with aggressive Swans. They only protecting their area and young ones if any around.

  • So...you're saying they respond to the Gandhi approach? ;-))

Well, it sure seems to work for you, because anyone can see that they really like you. I look forward to more vids of you visiting with your special favorites this summer.

  • Thanks Nom, just uploaded another video from Friday, Put a few of the diffewrent birds in the video for you all this time. Even said Hi to a Mute Swan for you ;) Watch how she wags her tail when she comes out of the water hehehe

  • So relaxing after a hard day. xx

  • Thank you Amy. Hope you are not working too hard ;)

  • the swans were absolutly stunning !!!

  • They are a wonderful bird at all times of year, soon the little Cygnets will appear, cant wait for those to come out of hiding ;)

  • seem almost that they are dancing. 5*

  • They were a pair, and was good watching them for the few minutes we spent in that area. Thank you again my friend.

  • BTW, I ALWAYS have a treat for the Mallards and all of the other water fowl!!! But here is an odd fact, though they love bread products, their simply mad for cat chow! I used to keep a large sack of cat chow at the sewer plant for the peeps.. I would dump a couple of cup fulls down the discharge pipe and they would go into a frenzy gobbling up every morsel they could find, momma duck would even bring them out when she saw me looking down for them LOL She approved of my cooking for the kids

  • I have never heard of Cat Chow Mike. I usually take fresh garden peas, they love those, and they like worms, but I not digging them up lol

  • It's dry cat food of any sort. It is rich in protein and thus a very good addition to the wee ones diet. I guess having been a single parent all of those years sank in pretty deep.

  • Hey Phil! LOLL Thanks for the mention! Yes, we do have it! LOLL The Warbler, Chaffinch, and Thrush have the most beautiful calls! Thanks for capturing them for us! Just awesome! Oh yea, Thank you for the baby Mallards you sent me. They brought tears to my eyes!

My Canadian Geese on campus are all walking around with little ones! Always makes me think of you!

  • Thanks sherri ;) and you know you gonna have to film them for me right ? hehe

  • Ahhh Phil!...Thankyou! You provide a service to the wild critters and all of us by giving us the opportunity to focus on this. A living fantasy! What we focus on remains and expands. That being so...you're preserving life in the joy that you feel in it and helping us to do the same through the viewing of it. Love to you and yours! Love for the magic! And love for all of us! Five stars!!!

  • Thank you my friend. As we walk around the reserve, we pick up litter and try to keep it clean around there. There are many Volunteers, whose love for the rerserve and the life within it, really makes it a place to visit. Putting up Fences, clearing the walk ways, and putting up nest boxes are just some of the chores, and it gives you a superb feeling, when you witness the results.

  • Incredible swan dance... honestly, at first I thought it was a video effect you had created; I had no idea the swans would synchronize their movements that way! Amazing!

Thank you so much for the songs of Goldfinch, Garden Warbler, and Song Thrush, too -- very beautiful and heart-warming.

I do agree with you about the dog owners; many people are 'non-thinkers' with an appalling lack of consideration for the world around them.

Thanks for a lovely start to my day!!! S.

  • Thank you Scoppertop. I find it difficult at times to get them on video, they are either high up in the trees or down low in the bushes hidden by the leaves. I never disturb them, and I can wait for another time to get them on video. Certain parts are now being fenced off because of nesting birds. As you will know, not all birds nest in trees.

  • ☆☆☆☆☆ Beautiful! Thank you! ♡ ƙarolyn

  • Thanks Karolyn.

  • Thanks Phil. Lovely.

  • Thank you James my friend.

  • Beautiful, soothing video Phil.

    Great music too.

    Loves,

    Mooz

  • Thanks again Mooz

  • Wonderful video, music and birds music!. it's nice to know that I can upload photos of birds to your website. I think I will do it soon enough.

I guess dogs shouldn't be allowed there at all? disturbing this heavenly place!.

  • Thank you Najib my friend. Dogs are not the problem. Far too often they themsleves are abused by their owners, kicked in their ribs and in some cases, starved to death etc.. No, the problem is People. Dogs think it is a fun thing to do, its natural for them, it is how a pet is brought up. A prime example, you dont see a guide dog chasing wildlife. There are plenty of open spaces to take a dog and let it loose. just not at parks or reserves. Thank you again my friend. Phil

  • With some dogs, it is purely instinctual. I think you know me well enough to know that I would never be anything but excellent to any dog in my care. In the 70's, I owned a Malamute who was a great silly goon, liked every one, (except the trash men...those dirty thieves LOL) let cats eat and drink from his bowl and was nothing but playful with other dogs. But he HATED wildlife. Groundhogs, chipmunks, raccoons, deer. It was his instinct and my responsibility to keep him under control.

  • Exactly Mike. Dogs are a mans best friend, and I love them too. I hate to see a dog being abused, kicked in the ribs etc.. It makes me feel sick. And a call to the RSPCA is what is needed then. I hate all animal cruelty. Sadly, there are those out there, that are not like us, they dont think like us, and to set a dog after a Duck or Swan is a great game for them :(
