    especially the 1 gb memory

  • is the mini hp 1035nr? How much RAM is the maximum it supports?

  • @Paie2010 2 gb

  • i wish it was that easy on a desktop computer

  • please can u help me? i exchanged 1GB RAM on HP Mini 5103 for 2GB and it starts up but doesnt go then just black screen i woulod appriciate any help! please

  • @cisar9rs

5103 are bussines series. I had to upgrade it with hp compatible ram. Any other ram from different manufacturer just didn't start or crashed soon.

  • do u have any video how to change the HDD??thanks

  • Damn with a laptop is so easy!

  • awesome

  • can be upgrade vista? let me know

  • hey already upgrade my ram from 1gb to 2gb,,

if i put all together in one pc,would hav anything different?

  • lol

  • my computer specs say that it accepts ram with 333mhz. is it okay to install a bigger ram with bigger mhz? or does the mhz have to match 333?

  • how much of a speed increase was there?

  • @moldjelly In my experience, the speed doubled.

  • 667 mhz haha

  • Great tip. I need to do this to my HP Mini.

  • i have the hp mini 110-1155ev can i upgrade to 2gb? cause the HP says max 1 GB anyone can help me ?? thanks :)

  • Yes can upgrade up to 4GB just up date your BISO

the reasons for 1GB max is because single Available module was only 1GB but now they got 2GB single and 4GB single and for the 4GB will need a (x64/64bits OS) to use all of the 4GB if not mix at 3072MB/3GB on (x86/32bits OS)

  • @kelly7brown not true...for 8GB you need 64-bit,

    4GB can operate on 32-bit

  • @slice135 yes it can operate.. but with 32-bit, 2gb and 4gb works just the same... you don't need more than 2gb of ram on 32-bit

  • @iSnAtsMikEL nooohoo on 32 bit 8gb can operate but works the same as 4gb....jeez

  • @slice135 is that so.. ok thanks for the information.. how much ram can i upgrade with my hp mini. its 32-bit, intel atom n 280 1GB ram? if it's ok to upgrade it up to 2gb, then i would be happy ..

  • @iSnAtsMikEL btw, during one of intel stint, i learned that 32-bit just needs not greater than 2gb, don't know how true is that. anyways, pls answer my question above.

  • @iSnAtsMikEL Yes sir 2GB RAM is the max for your laptop...good luck

  • @slice135 You can put any amount of ram on x86/32bits but only 3072MB going to be using 3.5GB max

  • you dont wanna get a shock , remove the battery .

you dont wanna fry your new ram by not discharging static energy , use a cloth or hold the far ends .

  • Always remove the battery before you change the ram

  • Hey! the red one looks like mine!

  • hey dude i have a desktop comp with intel prenium 4 524 processor 512 mb of ram nivdia geforce 9500gt graphic card and i wanna play codmw2 call of duty modern warfare 2 and im lagging so if i get 1gb will it cure the lag?

  • how come on the hp website it says maximum of 1gb ram for the hp mini 110

  • never thought it was easy

  • Good video... :)

  • on the hp mini will i able to change the graphic card

  • @VCamilo it is integrated... you can't

  • @VCamilo its a netbook not a gaming device (:

  • was the max the hp mini 110 can hold can i put 4gb ram or is the max 2gb of ram

  • max 2gb

  • IS it faster now ?

  • @carbonamigo

    no

  • how much did it cost for the 2GB Ram?

  • @pnutboipmg09 49.99

  • anyone notice a difference in anything after installing the 2 GB compared to the one? I'm thinking about getting one for my hp if itwill speed things up at al.

  • LOL that was easy. But, be carefull and make sure to ground yourself out before touching anything to prevent a damaging electrostatic discharge to the ram stick or mobo though. Only takes 50 volts to damage a chip and a static electric zap throws off 10's of thousands.

  • HAHA a pen :D

  • where do you get the ram from

  • where did u buy the tam at

  • lmao nice vid

  • Watermelons and chicken...

  • newegg raised their prices.. that stick or ram is now $46.99!!! WOW

  • Okay I saw the brand is therer any other I should look into.

  • just make sure you get one that is 2gb ddr2 so-dimm pc2 5300

  • What brand is that(the ram), where did you purchase it? I keep hearing I can get one for about $25 cant seem to find one.

  • your probly not going to get new 2 gig stick of ram for under 40 bucks...the brand this guy used was corsair!which is pretty good ram

  • eee pc has 2 slots i think...

and a hp is expensive, why did you buy this instead of an eee or acer?

  • the eee only has 1 slot....the hp's are around the same price for the sam hardware specs...except alot of the hp mini's have webcam built in...plus's mini's and lenovo's are really good quality

  • awesome thanks dude. i deff am going to do this, now that i know how easy it is

  • I upgraded mine to 2gig, but i really dont see any difference in performance.

  • i had to used a knife to unscrew it

  • this was the first thing i did when i got home with my hp haha

  • Dang, is it still $25? I see $30

  • You didn't get the battery out ?!

  • man why cant i just pay hp to do this for me

  • Hey if hp says that 1G is the maximum ram for this unit then why do people put 2G in it..will the unit recognize the extra gig of ram ?????..please respond...if the upgrade really works i would like to upgrade the ram on my hp mini

  • Of course it will.

  • Additionally, HP does NOT say it's "1 GB of RAM only", it says "User upgradable to 2 GB".

  • 1 gig is all that microsoft will let hp put in it stock because it has to be so underpowered to run xp stock... but the hardware supports 2 gigs ,if you build it with linux you can put 2 gigs in.

  • geez...what have you been smoking??

you can put 3 gigs in a hp mini and run it just fine!and microsoft has no say in what hp does!!and as far as power consumption goes..1 gig will use the same amount of power and produce the same heat as 4 gigs will!

  • good on you mat, nice video love the soundtrack

  • Wow. I thought you were ALWAYS sopposed to remove the battery before messing with anything else.

  • But Windows XP Home only works with 1GB of Ram only, sooooo? LOL, it's your money.

  • i guess he's using Windows 7

  • xp home will recognize up to 1.99 gb of ram

  • Windows XP Home supports up to 3GB ram...

  • Hey, Have you seen anyone try to upgrade the hard drive? I have the 80 G HDD and I wanted it upgrade to like a 500 G so i can make this little thing a media power pack! Wanted to know if you have tried this?

  • ok yeah thats easy... but does the netbook actualy work with the 2gb upgrade.. most wont be able to take it and it crashes after a couple of minutes

  • yes it does work with a 2gb upgrade. you can even order off the hp website and they give you the option to add it the mini.

  • I don't think you actually know anything about computers.

  • I'm computer stupid, but will upgrading the ram make the videos play less jerky when you watch high definition on youtube and HULU? or what is the point of upgrading? I don't understand

  • interesting my review comment was deleted. I will e-mail everyone that asks questions about this 2 g ram upgrade, DO NOT GET IT, It doesn't improve any performance issues.

  • The ram upgrade wont affect HD playback. Dont kill me if im wrong but I dont think so.

  • what does a 2gb of ram do specify it

  • Give you 2GB of RAM?

  • Thanks, that was funny I was going to have it upgraded for $50 bucks and it only took less then a min to install. I thought it was like the Mac mini which I will never a temp that again.

  • TOOO HARD LOL

  • It's 3 screws and one snap in socket...

  • 5☆s

  • wow that looked to easy, can't wait to try it on mine....

  • Comment removed

  • Rofl, your such a dick. the mainboard in these can handle a maximum of 2 gigabytes, it just won't boot if you have 4.

  • does it work this upgrade from 1gb of ram to 2gb of ram for al this types of hp minis:

-hp mini 110 xp edition series

    -hp mini1137nr

    -hp mini 1101

    -hp mini note 2133

    -hp mini note 2140

and another question do you have the acer aspire one?

  • this works for every thing i mean every single laptop all u need to know is u get the right types of memory........ and u r done open the case and just click the switch to side and just simply push the old one out and put the new one in and u r done but make sure that u have your battery unplug and take battery out b4 doing this (just be more safe.....). and for desk top just open the case and put pull old one out and new one in...... simple as that...

  • does this work for the 2140?

  • HI I HAVE THE HP mini 1033cl can ram be done in the same manner as well .i love your video very good job for demonstration on hp mini keep up good work please let me know

  • Hey, yes it can, i have the exact same model, haha got it from costco! :P um, its the exact same thing. My memory is crucial pc6400. the computer will handle pc5300 but i did the 6400 just cause it was cheaper. watch out with the timings. i read that ocz memories are slow. crucial, patriot, corsair are good brands. if you are an overkill person, go with the pc6400, although it will act like a pc5300 due to the computer specs.

  • wow i want to know the backsound name plis! make me crazy ^^ ! nice instruction and it do it in a cool style

  • hi, i want to change the hard drive, but i can not open the case =( how do i do it?

  • opening the whole thing is a pain in the ass. whats best to do is go buy an external hard drive rather than an internal hard drive, a nice small slick hard drive is the "Seagate FreeAgent Go" it comes in 250, 320, and 500 GB. I think Future Shop sells them.

  • This is about upgrading the RAM(google it) not the internal drive.

  • Can you put 2G of RAM in the XP edition???

  • yup

  • hey! is this the 1035nr? if so that is the netbook that i am using now.

  • great upgrade for my mini hp run alot faster now love it

  • i dont really know a lot about computers so wat r sum of the advantages of upgrading

  • rofl. i love the music choice and the hand gestures. Makes this a fun video to watch. Nice!

  • I just placed my order today; build date is set for the 24th of this month. I'm glad to know you can upgrade to 2G of ram. I could have sworn you can only max at 1 Gig. Also getting the DVD combo burner.

  • Subscribed. :)

  • what 1000???? 1035nr????

  • I'm getting a HP Mini 1000 for sure. If you're running XP, you don't really need more than 1 GB of RAM Memory....unless you're thinking about playing a few games that you download (since installing games are out of the question, since there is no DVD Drive). 1 question though....HP's expansion slot...is there an external DVD drive that's available?

  • there is a external drive if you go to HP shopping website look under netbook or mini accessories

  • I don't think for these note books you need more thena gig...

  • dude thats awesome...i never knew my ram slot can open that easily...ahahah...wellz im changing it to 2gbs.... XD

  • hey guys if i got an hp mini and upgraded its ram and graphics card could it be goof for gaming?

  • hell.. for counter strikw 1.6 i dont think u will need an upgrade.. lol

  • i just bought the hp mini 1000 linux version but its to slow so im takeing it back to get the xp version then all buy the 2gb ram

  • You should have turned it on so that we could all see that it worked ok. Still it was good info.

  • where can i get one of those 2gb things?

  • How come my netbook originally said with the 1GB

    USED: 5.42 GB

    NEW: 9.83 GB

and now after the 2gb upgrade it says

    USED: 6.41

    NEW: 8.83

it seems less?? can someone help, I don't know much about computers...

  • Thats your hard drive dumbass. he's upgrading the RAM

  • @dforesz Well that what it says in the tittle you don`t have to be rude

  • lol

  • :()

  • Very helpful. I would have never figured out how to open the cover if not for your install into the black mini. Once I saw that, took no more than 15 seconds to install the new one. Thanks!

  • 4gb is to low for me haha but its my limit on my mbp

  • are those 2gb of ram for laptop or notebook? because the one at fry's says notebook and the one at best buy says laptop. kinda confuse.

  • Oh and nice video Bwana! it really is a snap to upgrade the memory.

  • Support 2gb ddr2 800 mhz??? please answer me...

  • i stole the ram from my brother's computer and put it in my aspire one... he probably wont even notice ^___^

  • Why didn't you explain how to remove the existing module? For someone who has never upgraded RAM it's not as intuitive as you make it look and your big fingers don't allow viewers to see that the guides flex left and right to release the chip. Not a helpful video!

  • Wrong.

  • Double Wrong.

  • Just upgraded my mini to 2GB and its working great. I couldnt find the Corsair everyone is using but Kingston PC2-5300 worked just as good.

  • You my friend, didn't do your research. HP does not want you to know that the Hp mini 1000 can read 2gigs. Anyway just added 2gigs to mine and I'm running windows 7(beta) also upgraded the 16gig SSD to a RUNCORE 128gig 1.8 SSD. I must say that it runs better than my gateway M250E laptop!

  • Dude the man works for HP you think he might have a clue! everything else bwana has done that I have seen is on the money, sounds like you have been given a wrong steer friend

  • my laptops max ram it can take is 2gb and i already i have 2 gb is there a way i could increase the limit and i need some tips about upgrading the proccesor and video card

  • PS, how about a video on upgrading the SSD from 8GB???

    Please...

  • I don't know much about that, sorry

  • Thanks for the video. I upgraded my RAM easily following your directions.

  • DOes it have to be 667mhz?

  • wait.... every ram stick is only 667 mhz why so little?

  • actually it will only run at 533 mhz because of the processor's fsb.

  • FANTASTIC VIDEO! THANK YOU!

  • For those of you considering upgrading to 2GB, I have noticed significant improvements in the functionality of my mini. First I noticed that there was much less lag while the startup icons were loading. Right clicking instantly brought up a menu. Additionally, moving between programs became much smoother. The upgrade is a must. Initially, I felt a little disappointed with my recent purchase of the mini... this upgrade eliminated any and all regret. I love my mini.

  • can you have the 2gb with xp?

  • The thing is ... the original ram runs at 800 MHz but 2GB runs at 667 MHz .... so its not much different ...

  • does this work with the on where in Microsoft XP is the OS or Linuz only?

  • both...........

  • hmm thanks

  • no worries...didn't you hear him say the exact type of ram???? lol

  • lol and thanx for tha vid. whered you get the ram though and could you give me a part number? please?

  • I saw the exact same RAM on ebay. You just need DDR2 667mhz.

  • why thank you kind random person, lol

  • i se some people have upgraded these to 2gb...but everywhere i read i see they only goto 1gb...i got my 2gb card on its way..i will test it for my self...

  • Can the 60gb hard drive be upgraded as well? I would like at least a 160gb hdd. Thanks

  • can anyone tell me if hp mini 1000 notebooks r upgradable to 4gb ram 1 slot?

  • It is not. 2 GB is the max supported by the motherboard.

  • why not... upgrade it to 8gb ram naa :P X(

  • Mobo can only support 2gig ithink

  • yeah all netbooks support up to 2gb or 2.5 gb maximum, and all 32x operating systems only utilize 2.5gb of ram maximum anyways...

  • hey can u uprade the memory too and what kinda processor does it have?

  • The black one he upgraded was a Mini 1035NR with Windows XP SP3.

You can look at his unboxing vid if you don't believe me.

  • bro, after we change the memory we still have to do something in the system or we can start right for use

  • Windows XP has a plug and play feature, so basicly it should understand you stuck a 2gb ram stick in and use it. If not, I have no clue.

  • question i ordered a hp mini 1035nr will the 2gb ram work for it?

  • would this work for the 1035NR version ?

  • how much was the 2gb RAM???

  • Can I upgrade the hard drive men?

  • Does anyone know if the xp version is upgradable to 2gb if u do ityourself ?

  • whats is RAM?
