I think Clothes Mentor/Platos Closet/Once Upon a Child are all 'chain' consignment stores...I know in my town, they have all of those stores. My sister took her two tween girls to Platos Closet before school and spent $90 but really didn't get a whole lot. I've not been into Clothes Mentor but I think I'll check it out! Mamma needs some new clothes :)
Great advice. We have a thrift store that sells thier clothes for $5 a GARBAGE bag! It's in the country (a hamlet of about 100 people) and its the only one around so EVERYONE declutters and drops stuff off there and but very few think to shop there.
I but all the clothes/shoes/boots for my family there. Even my 18 year old daughter LOVES this place and all the money goes to charity.
What kind of consignment shop you go to? Is it a chain, or just an independently owned one? I try Plato's Closet from time to time and it seems there is nothing there. Seems like nothing but junky tee shirts and old jeans at that store. Beautiful finds!
@indigolady52 when i was in Georgia, i was always at Goodwill, Last Chance, or (for furniture) The Salvation Army. NOw, in Michigan, I go to the Salvation ARmy at the beginning of each season (I have not found a good Goodwill store here). I dont know many other thrift stores in Michigan. Oh, Value World is a nice one in Michigan. In, GA, Value Village is alright. For knicknacks and household items, I love Garage Sales and Estate Sales

@indigolady52 Plato's is definately for the younger crowd - it is next door to the consignment shop I go to. Mine is called Clothes Mentor.
