The F-4 is the "phantom jet" of the Nam era and the early ones HAD NO GUN AT ALL and had to be retro-fitted with Vulcan pods. This aircraft replaces the old Douglas A-1 Sky raider, designed in 49' that carried it's own weight in AMMO and had GREAT station time. the A-10 is built around the 37 mil.anti-tank weapon, titanium tub and DC 10 power plants!

Nice vid. I hope she can stand up to modern AA designed around killing the tank killer, such as the SPAAG. Unfortunately, I don't think she can. She is old, big. slow and flies too close the ground. A10 was a great platform 30 yrs ago, but does not stand a chance against a Russian SPAAG.

Stalin even put a bounty on him. After the war he helped design the ultimate killing machine, the A-10 Warthog.
At the time warfare broke out the A-10 was slated for decomissioning and the bone yard. One of the best grounsupport jets ever designed. The early videos of combat engagement was awsome. The a-10 were heading into combat, the vulk of the planes were taking off were more patches than original Parts. A dead plane headed for the grave yard comes back to save the day.
