  • My dad is one of the little kids in this video!

  • @dellaroux

Thanks for the info. When I was a teen, I would have loved to see all the women in those dresses, but I have never seen her in something that short in any other vids. I wonder how appropriate it was for her to do that there. At any rate Pet was always sexy looking!

  • Great song , But the dress is disgusting..........Why is she wearing it in front of children ????

  • @isawman1 Only a hideous woman-hating bigot like you could find it disgusting.

  • @allieron No , A woman is complimented by modesty not scandal !!!

  • @isawman1 A woman is free to choose to wear what she wants to wear. That is why hideous bigots like you are so terrified of women. If you find it immodest, then you have a problem and need counseling or perhaps moving to Saudi Arabia, where you'll fit in perfectly with stone-age misogynist brutes.

Where you born wearing clothes, or naked ?

  • @allieron A small baby is not trying to seduce anyone..............A woman is indeed free to wear what she wants , But I doubt that Miss Clarks absurd dress is her own choice............More like her agents.............Makes her look like a middle age pervert who likes to flash her crutch to children..........Pathetic !!!

  • @isawman1 Your argument, like every other comment you make, is obscurantist and a product of the retarded, woman-hating misogynist cult you likely happy-clap to.

Does the sight of a bikini bottom inflame you ? Or a man in tight shorts ? Why should the sight of a womans buttocks upset you so much ? She was wearing the fairly decent pair of underwear that the baby-doll dress occasional gave a glimpse of.

The only thing vulgar about it is your perception of it.

  • @allieron Teenagers do not want to look at a middle aged womans underwear , especially while she is still wearing them !!!

  • @isawman1 How do you know ? Did you ask teenagers if they'd like to look at a mature womans legs and catch the occasional glimpse of a buttock cheek ?

You've never seen a womans underwear before, because your mind blanks your vision out and you have to go and pray in front of your naked Jewish carpenter idol for repentance.

  • @allieron I know because I used to be a teenager and she is way to old and drab to engender any intrest from idealistic adolescents ..............Only scorn and contempt !!!

  • @isawman1 This was in 1968. The only "scorn and contempt" would be from retarded and deeply scarred individuals like you who have been brain-raped by religion and turned into frustrated, deluded little robots filled with bigotry and hatred.

You REALLY need to see a good shrink and have your "issues" with your mother and latent sexuality ironed out once and for all.

  • @allieron I really don't like the dress either, but it's not because it's short and I'm brainwashed by religious, hypocritical psuedo-morality, I just don't like the style and colour.

  • @pineapplepenumbra I'd agree with that. The 60's had some odd fashion ideas. Still, at least you never had to worry about the warm updraft from the metro blowing the skirt up further. It can't get much higher...

  • I honor the kids in the band for doing such a good job- espcially the boys for concentrating so hard on their music. :)

  • Great song and performance; and you really hear the deep bass "thump" of the drum.

  • Wouldn't it be great if entertainers of today would approach the kids studying music at school and ask them put on a concert with the entertainer singing, what a buzz it'd be to hyave that opportunity, it would inspire so much confidence to acheive more.

  • @myfeeling4you Loco Locass, Quebec's best hip hop trio, did just that. They even released a DVD of the entire show done at Montreal's Place des Arts, titled Symponie Locass. Check it out!

  • Well, Petula is a class for is own.

    Great song.

  • I love this song, but that dress she's wearing is killing me!

  • @1qaz2wsx3edc5753 That was called a "baby doll," and I wouldn't wear them at the time (nor would my parents have allowed me to...)

  • Hods Bodkins! Rather short Petula.

  • Those kids were absolutely adorable. Especially the little violinist whose feet couldn't touch the ground.

  • loved this..thanks:)

  • This (and The Other Man's Grass Is Always Greener) are my two favorite songs but I really like just about anything she did. Great entertainer.

  • I had this entire video... The whole hubbub about "Pet kissing Harry Belafonte" is extremely anticlimctic today, and I suspect that it was pretty much a non-issue in 1968, too... I'm sure if they made out, regardless of whether they were of two different races, would be newsworthy, or perhaps even edited...

  • It shows what a decent and game person Petula is ...she can sing anything anywhere and anyhow

  • I thought this video was gone... thankgoodness it's back.

  • Wonderful Petula.

And don't miss the lovely French version by Renée Martel,

    called "Viens changer ma vie".

  • Short skirt there Petula... Nice legs though

  • @davie12 lol lol

  • @davie12 Her and Linda Ronstadt both. I almost flunked out of high school because of stuff like that. Not that, that's a bad thing or anything!

  • Great fun to see this again from her NBC '68 special. Thanks for posting it!

  • amazing like always, thank you for posting.

  • How lovely for a sunny summer Sunday.
