Jason left because he felt he wasn't getting enough credit for the lyrics/Derek was taking all the credit for the lyrics.

That's the most believable one.

@OMGusernameBITCHES Jason Lancaster was an original band member. Then after recording this entire album, but before it's release (in 2007) they kicked him out. Nothing's been the same since haha, because Jason wrote all their lyrics and has an amazing voice. So, since they kicked him out, they lost his amazing lyricist talents. :)

@katdf123 Actually, Jason LEFT the band because Derek wasn't giving him any or enough credit for writing the songs. Then he went and formed a new band called Go Radio. Jason and Derek wrote the lyrics together, that's why some of the new songs sound like the lyrics would fit with the old songs and others sound terrible. Mayday Parade's definitely not as good as they used to be though. Also, they made the band less intense. Like the music wise, it's a lot softer with more acoustic.

Either way, they lost a great part of their band. Go Radio is really awesome as well. :]

I agree. I hate how people say that Jason wrote EVERY song off ALIT and TTBDF. Yeah, he wrote most of it, but Derek wrote parts of them too. From what I know, Derek wrote Champagne's for Celebrating by himself, wrote You Be the Anchor with Jason, and the rest of them were written by Jason, MOSTLY. To say that no other member had a part seemed absurd to me.

And yes, while New Mayday is good, just not nearly as good as old Mayday with Jason.

@EtherealEmbrace That's the way I see it too. Like it's possible that he wrote most of it, but they have so many songs and sometimes the lyrics are written differently. I tried to find who wrote which songs on Google once, but it didn't say LOL. I think that it was a team effort, like maybe when one of them got stuck then they'd switch and get the other to write part of it.

I heard that Go Radio and Mayday are with the same label haha.
