  • My Mother used to bring home the most delicious fish when I was a child in Omaha, 1960's. I now live in Cleveland, Oh and carp is considered a 'dirty fish'. It was just 15 years ago that I found out it was fried carp from Joe Tess's that my Mother was bringing home.

I've thought of taking a 'flight trip' to Omaha just to eat at Joe Tess's

  • The real question is how did that one black guy end up in a sea of white folks? That guy looks lost.

  • I don't know what the point of using salt flavouring over regular salt is.

  • this place gave me food poisoning :< the fried carp wasn't what I thought it would be... I shoulda got catfish!!

  • that fish looks amazeee!!!!!!!!

  • Joe Tess was one of the place's I been eatting ate back when I was living in the Omaha aria.

  • well i get carp by the hundreds of pounds and between me and all the people i know we can get ya fish in the thousands a night

  • well i get carp by the hundreds of pounds and between me and all the people i know we can get ya fish in the thousands

  • Ive eaten at joe tess's plenty. and their food is crap. But the atmosphere and the people are good Big Mama's in Omaha has kickass omeletes though.

  • I havn't been to that place waaaay up north right on the Missouri River. Forgot what it's called.

  • I love Guys' reaction when he mentions MSG as "salt-flavoring".

  • Piss on eating, I want to go drinking with Guy!

  • I use to eat at Joe Tess, When I was still liveing back in the Ohama area.

  • I haaate this fuckin spikey haired douchebag of a host! He SUCKS! Where's Adam Richmond!?

  • @xxDrPhil so true , all he does s eat and use the same puch lines , at least adam is funny and takes on actual challenges

  • @xxDrPhil Probably doing your mom.

  • gotta love joe tess...I dont like carp a whole lot...But Man there catfish is so good!!!!!!! My grandma loves there carp!!

  • 'salt flavoring' is mono-sodium glutamate

thats why you cant get it made anywhere else like its made there

*wrinkles nose* msg is nasty stuff

  • @AcidSpittingAngel Have you ever read REAL research about MSG... Anyone who says it is "nasty stuff" is either full of it or ill informed. There is alot of fake science on the subject.

  • @Spbeyond yeah. Lots of people just waste their time and money making fake research about MSG. Because its just THAT big of a social problem. Kind of like all that BS about Methane gas from cows, radiation, and how bad cigarettes are for you. Psh. You must just be ill-informed. And I routinely lie about culinary products. IT's just in my nature.

  • @AcidSpittingAngel" No statistical association has been demonstrated under controlled conditions, even in studies with people who were convinced that they were sensitive to it" USDA study over 10 years.

  • thx 4 all the uploads. u rock

  • Great memories.. Back in the late 60's we Bellevue high school guys often hit the place late friday/saturday night shortly before closing.. ordered a couple of tails and they filled the boxs with already cooked fish.. Now, how many remember the Joe Tess in Lincoln??

  • i still love going to joe tess fish! i remember the old bar with the big aquarium in the early 60's! grandma would always eat my bread & pickles.

4 generations of our family have enjoyed it! try it :)

  • Surfside is better

  • it was ok, but not the best

  • Fish frys, during fridays at grade school lunch, were always the best at Joe Tess'. If you are ever in the neighbor hood, stop in!!!!

  • I grew up on Joe Tess's....every weekend my dad would take all of us to Joe Tess's, I still remember their dill pickles!!!! but the fish, man it doesnt get any better than that...I still remember when they built their drive thru.......that was a big deal in those days....I'm just happy to know, that one of my best memories growing up in Omaha is still thriving.........

  • This place is so famous; it eclipses all of the other "fish" places. It's the only place I would trust to have the best fish available at anytime, and I live near the Gulf Coast.

  • Great fish I have there....GOOD

  • Personally my favorite dish in here is the fried walleye dinner. And, Joe T has the best coleslaw in town.

  • Worked at Joe Tess when I was in high school. Bill, Dan and Dave were my boss'...but it was John R. that kept me out of trouble. Friday nights after closing, cleaning the 'hoods' with sheila shine. Not many hs kids wanted to do that type of work. The Falts and John were/are great people and Joe Tess has some very orignal eats! Receommend this place to everyone! I get home on leave every now and then and always stop in. Hard to catch up with th eold boss' though. Stop in when you can!

  • You think exotic fish like mahi mahi are good, or snapper? Nobody has anything on this place. Besides carp they have great catfish. Fantastic. You don't even need any sauce on it.

    Damn, now I'm droolin'.
