Maybe he's high, but probaly pissed out of his scull on Jack Daniels. I've seen him on tv enter the stage with half a bottle of Jack, being very pissed already and sinkin' the botte during the concert. A few years back my son and I saw him here and he entered stage with only a tiny plasticglass with Gammel Dansk - a lokal bitter... Good on you, Eric! It was a great gig with a monster drummer, don't know his name, what a drumsolo! Do it again, Eric and band, we love you! :oD
Da sieht man was pure Leidenschaft zur Musik auslösen kann. Er ist mit Sicherheit kein Genie, dafür ein genialer Vollblutmsänger mit vielen Höhen und Tiefen. Schön dass er da ist!
He performs it well now, and he performed it extremely well in 65, but this performance was crap. I love Burdon but he butchered his own classic and took the feel out of it. The end was sorta okay, but Eric you can sing it so much better. Check out his recent solo album "Portrait of A Man"-its a good listen..
yeah i like burdon in the 70s better when his voice was cracking and he really could hit those high notes, but all that strain trying to get them made his voice age quicker
ERIC LA CLASSE ,MAIS " les pattes d'eph",comme on disait ,j'en portait un noir avec trois bouton doré en bas ; le bon temps c'était quand,en 68 bien sur !!
i am new 2 this music. like the older stuff. seems as if he started 2 destroy himself when he got fame. u got fame. who can u trust. a manager? your family?
Aggg.. Eric REALLY must have been hard up back then, to crap all over his earlier efforts with a "budget Chick Corea style" ripoff.. Compared with the Animals-era version, this is ipecac...
Yeah, it is not my favorite Eric sound either. Lots of artists in that era were wrecking their act by overdoing it. At least he did not have backup singers.
i think he was just growing......and the present, while including some of the past, was more important.......rock shouldn't be so stringent (in my opinion).
Mike and Ian Carr came from Newcastle where if I remember right they played with Eric Burdon in the early pre-Animals days. Mike would have been an obvious choice for keyboard player in '76 when I'm guessing his stint with Bobby Gien (from South Africa) in the Ronnie Scott Trio would have ended. Mike's long been the foremost jazz organist in the country with an incredible pedal technique - check him out here on YouTube!
That's MIKE CARR on the keyboards, not Ian - who is Mike's elder brother....But what a great track! Various other numbers from this 1976 Rockpalast session are now up on YouTube.
man, he was hot! ;)

Great except there's no bass player. Organ pedal bass is a poor substitute for a bass guitar, esp in a funky number like this. I'm a bass player :-)

Mann war der Gute da breit ;o).
Hat er eigentlich nur gesoffen, oder auch noch anderes Zeug genascht?
Den Text hat er ja garnicht mehr so hingekriegt, wie das geplant war.

Eric Burdon was often drunk. This is no shame! I know a little bit of the story, why he was.
JulianThomePictures 4 years ago
Do Tell Why?In the 60's it was socially acceptable now it,s frowned apawn! SP oopes
rokchikin 4 years ago
In 1970 Jimi Hendrix died, that was terrible for Burdon. He drunk more and more. Read his Autobiography!
